Unfortunately American Home Shield forced us to use this company. I did leave AHS a similar review. Hopefully they will do better in the future and contract with a more reliable company. I will give a thumbs up to the first technician out to work on the a/c. He was very polite and efficient. The frustration is with the company scheduling the installation of the part. We spoke with someone different every time, each time we were assured they had the correct contact number. We had to change from the original phone number due to that person having to be gone out of state (in a different time zone). Apparently the part came in, they called the original contact number (keep in mind, a time zone 1hr behind Georgia time And this person was working night shift, so sleeping during the day). They had called, left a message which wasn't received until 4:30 pm, which is 5:30pm georgia time. So the office is closed. Also there had been a call THAT DAY to May Heating to verify again, the contact number. No problem they said. We have that number right here. We tried to schedule online through the email, picking the next day. It was canceled a short time later by May Heating. When we finally got ahold of someone about getting the a/c fixed we were rudely met with the fact that their call had not been returned therefore we would have to wait another week for the repair. Firstly, they did not call the correct number which they had assured they had on file. Secondly, we had been making frequent calls to them to check on progress. It would seem as thought departments within the company do not communicate well with each other. There is only one phone number with a labyrinth of numbers to push before you actually get to talk to someone. Not the same person every time. A/c is still not fixed a week later, which could have been fixed 3 days ago. We are now looking at 2 weeks without a/c. We do have pets at home which have been just as miserable. Keep in mind this is summer in Southern Georgia. IT'S HOT AND HUMID. We've had to purchase a window air conditioner to get us through this mess with May Heating and Air. May Heating and Air just doesn't care about the customer. I do not recommend this company for any service or repair.

there is a reason why they work directly with the warranty company. be careful about companies that refill your ac with freon because that's a temporary. always ask them to do a leak search. these scammers put freon in and with 1 week UT leaked because they never determines the cause of the true issue.

Zero Stars. I wish I would have read the reviews before wasting time and my money with this company. First they canceled my appointment the day of 30mins before tech was suppose to arrive. The next day they came out and before even looking at anything they told me what the issue was. Literally came into my house barely looked, no solutions, but my friend was able to give me solutions. With all these bad reviews you would think the company would care enough to fix the issue of their lazy employees!!! Taking peoples money with not even a suggestion or looking.

I originally called to have my A/C repaired July 19th. The repair was completed today, August 4th. That equates to 17 days without A/C during July in Georgia. Technicians came out on 3 separate occasions, and we got put at the back of the line for our next appointment after each visit that the technicians did not repair the unit. It took several calls to the service center to get the follow-up visits to happen. That is the type of service you receive from May Heating and Air.

We do not have American Home Shield and have dealt directly with May and the service has been fantastic. They kept our old unit running until we had to declare it DOA - they installed a new unit and we have not had any issues. Thanks May Heating and Air for a fantastic job!!!!

Had them come to us twice to get our air conditioner repaired, and they didn't actually do anything to fix it. It's still broken and we are still having an issue with it cooling the house. The second time, the guy was supposed to be there between 1 and 5pm - he showed up at 8pm, clearly not interested in doing anything (complained about how many jobs he had prior to ours) and left us with our AC still not working (it's 80 degrees regularly in our newborns room). The service worker made it sound like our AC should just not work, despite us having another unit on a different floor that works perfectly. We reached out to them multiple times to get someone to come back at a reasonable time and fix the issue, even put in a complaint through the better business bureau to try and get them to fix our AC, and they never responded to any of our calls. Also want to point out that when they do respond, you're on the phone for at least 20-30 minutes waiting (Despite what they respond with """"less than 5 minutes"""" on some of these other messages). Would not use them, wish I could give them zero stars. Maybe they'll actually respond to a bad review? My guess is no. Take your services and money elsewhere. There's a reason they're getting a lot of one star review recently - they are awful!

May heating and air came to my home via American Home Shield. We paid May Heating and Air $1485.00 to add freon to our unit. The service person did this on May 26, 2022. It took a couple of days for me to realize the rooms were not cooling. We called AHS and they sent another service person from another company, he showed us where the freon was leaking from the same place on the same unit. We called May heating and air directly and they told us because the job was from AHS they could not speak with us directly. It is now 30 days past the install date (May 26, 2022) so AHS says we have to pay again. May is not speaking to us. At this point I feel that I don't have a choice but to seek legal advice. I will let everyone know if it is our loss. MAO

I rarely leave reviews but I wanted to provide feedback on a horrendous recent claim experience with May HVAC that was assigned to me through American Home Shield. Here is a timeline of activity: 5 June - Requested HVAC service because I noticed one of my outside compressor units was not turning on when the inside air was blowing, therefore it wasn't cooling. 6 June - I called May & was on hold for about 15 minutes and I could pretty quickly tell that the customer service was lacking. 8 June - The technician came out and diagnosed the problem as low on freon. I was kind of surprised because I had paid a huge sum of money in Aug 2021 to another AHS HVAC assigned contractor to fill the same unit with freon. While he was at the house, he did go up into the attic and looked at the units, but apparently didn't see anything wrong up there. However, when trying to put my attic ladder door back in place, he forced it without properly loosening brackets first and ended up warping the piano hinge, which made the door crooked. After he left, I had to put duct tape over the gaps, so that hot air would not escape from the attic. So I paid $$$ for freon and the unit was running when he left. However, about 30 min after he left, I noticed the outside unit was not running again, just as before. May Heating and Air was assigned for a callback. 10 June - I called May and they said another technician couldn't come back out until June 16th, even though they had just been at my house and the problem wasn't fixed. 16 June - The same technician as before came out and this time diagnosed the problem as a faulty control board. However, he said that he changed the wiring so that the control board was bypassed and the outside unit should properly run until he could come back at a later date to put in a new control board. I also asked him about the broken attic door from the previous visit, and he said it was possible that he did it and he took some photos to show his manager. The unit was running when he left. Within an hour of him leaving, the outside unit stopped running again. 17 June - I called May first thing in the morning, to explain it still wasn't working and they said they would get back to me when the paperwork from the previous evening was processed. Not too long after I got a text saying that someone from May was coming out between 9 am and 12 PM that day. I waited around all morning for the technician to arrive and when 12:00 came and I hadn't heard from anyone, I called May back to inquire if someone was still coming. The office person then realized she had accidentally scheduled me for that day, and that no one was coming. She then explained that it wouldn't be until next week sometime that someone would come out. At this point, I was completely fed up with May and I called AHS and expressed my frustration with my experience so far and requested a new HVAC contractor. I also decided to check with a local HVAC company that a friend recommended, even if it meant paying money out of pocket and not using AHS because I really needed someone to come out. 20 June - The non-AHS HVAC company came out and immediately realized that the drain pan in the attic for the upstairs unit was completely full of water. This water was triggering the safety float and keeping the outside unit from running. They were able to clear the blockage, remove the water and the unit began operating properly. THIS IS A VERY BASIC ISSUE FOR ANY HVAC COMPANY TO CHECK FIRST - WHY DID THE MAY TECHNICIAN NOT SEE THE WATER IN THE PAN WHEN HE WENT INTO THE ATTIC!! However, the saga wasn't completely over yet, as the thermostat for the upstairs unit was not turning off even when the desired temp was reached. No way to prove it, but there is a possibility that when the May technician bypassed the control board the week before, he might have done it incorrectly and fried the thermostat. So I had to pay for a new thermostat and more labor to the new contractor. The HVAC is finally working properly with thanks to my non-AHS contractor, and I fixed the broken hinge myself.

This company sucks. I had an air handler installed and after installation my AC worked upstairs but not downstairs. After spending $2700 for the install, the company pretty much refused to follow-up on their work to get my system running properly. DO NOT HIRE these people!!!

I would give then zero stars if I could one star is to generous. I have the American Home Shield service and I scheduled an appointment for mid week like Wednesday or Thursday. They advised that no times were available and scheduled for Saturday between 8 and 12. I rearranged my entire day and no one showed up, I didn't receive a text message or email about them running late or anything, and when I called their office number no one answered and their voice mail stated there office was closed.. needless to say I was pissed because the previous day I received a texted message stating that if I canceled or the ac units was running I would be charged a $75 service fee, and my question is who will pay me for wasting my time on this unprofessional company...
