I use yelp to find good services. Have not left a review but thought it was important to leave my experience with a plumber I used. I had a tankless water heater that needed replacing. I called Max to see if he was available to do the work. He was. I did the leg work to drive down to Vic's and Ferguson to purchase the new water heater and new valves and filter. Met Max back at the house.
He had a helper with him, ( he was complaining about his back) so I thought ok, 2 guys will knock this out quick.
He worked for a few hours and then called me and said he had to run to another job but would be back. He said the water is on if we needed it.
He called me at 4:30 and said he was exhausted, could not come back. I told him the water in fact was off at the house, so he did come back and fixed that. He came back the next day to finish the job. He worked so very slow. I think he just wanted an easy job to last all day. He just had to take the old tankless off the wall and put up the new one. All the lines and connections were right there. Just replace the hoses and make new connections.
He charged me for 2 guys @ 9 hours each. That is 18 hours of labor to replace the water heater. I think that is so unfair. He also charged me for parts without listing the parts he used. Just made up an amount of $495 for parts I know he did not use.
Bottom line, he was very slow and brought another guy so he could charge 2 men even on a job that could be done with one guy.
PS, don't let him park his truck on your driveway if you don't want oil leaking on it.

Max is super responsive and is clearly a top choice plumber for citizens of Ojai. He helped me with a house drain the was leaking into a bedroom.

Max and his guys were great! Very fair and competitive pricing. Needed a toilet set and some guys in the valley are really gouging. Max doesn't work that way. They also did a great job! Max's assistant wasn't happy with the caulking job, purchased different caulk and came back the next day to finish it out perfectly! Nice guys, honest, and conscientious. Will use them again. Oh, and I love the truck!

I got more than I bargained for when I hired Max Reed Plumbing to come root my pipes. Besides the quick response, Max himself showed up, sent the rooter down the hole and cleared the blockage pronto! As he turned to leave, he paused and turned around and said, ""Could I give you some advice?"" I said, hesistating, ""sure."" Max continued, ""You might want to consider eating more roughage, like salads and beans and stuff--could save you a lot in the long run on these, calls to say nothing of saving yourself a heart attack!"" I credit the man with more than clearing my pipes. I think he may have saved my life.
