Matt Mauzy learned the heating and air conditioning trade from his father, Gary Mauzy. With over 20 years of experience in the HVAC industry, he has specialized in residential installations for the last 14 years.
Before taking the helm at Mauzy, Matt worked in project management and technical positions at renowned companies such as Santiago Heating and Air Conditioning, as well as University Mechanical.
Throughout his career, he has overseen a variety of projects from residential clients to commercial projects for Blockbuster Video, Little Caesars Pizza, The University of California, San Diego, and the US Coast Guard Base in San Diego.
For eight years, Matt was affiliated with the Sheet Metal Workers Local 206 union.

They ended up contacting me after a month and I had them give me a quote. They claimed the emails from the website went into a spam filter.

I am very happy with the air conditioning system they installed. Joel was the key, as I did have a better quote from a competitor but he sold me. He convinced me that he knew what he was talking about, and I felt comfortable with them. Mike, Adrian and Steven were great, very professional.
I had a unique situation with running an exposed duct, which the other company didn't want to deal with ( actually suggest a separate unit). Joel immediately said a spiral duct would work.
Highly recommend them.

If you want satification and true customer service this is the company.
I know that you are reading this becuase you are going through multiple companies. I did the same.
My interactions with this company started at the Del Mar home and garden show. Out of all the companies there, Mauzy was by far the most relaxed, professional and to the point sale person. I still did my diligence, shopped around, had other guys come out to get price quotes. But if you want to feel like their ""only customer"" when they have 100's of customers throughout the area, this is the business. Nobody made me feel better and comfortable with this huge purchase as Mauzy did.
From Betsey at customer care to the worker guys, Mikey, Adrian, Danny the team was on point. They never tried to sell me more than I could afford nor did they push for more. They fit the right model with the size home etc. I will say that they went beyond the original scope of the estimate at no extra charge becuase they wanted my familes satisfation and they got it.
Call nobody else if you want satisfaction, or give these guys a call after you went with somebody else to fix the other companies problems.
I am a very picky individual and when a person gives me a hand shake and tells me they will take care of my family, I hold them to that. Mauzy did that.

The service we received last month was outstanding from the sales associate Joel who came to our house to the owner who helps us on the pricing of the unit to the professionalism of the workers installing the system. Very impressed and satisfied highly recommend using Mauzy for your air and heat needs.

I appreciated Elkan's time and effort to look for the problem I had and time it took him to fix the problem. I'm taking one star off because the part that I needed was ordered for me but not tagged with my name nor communicated with dispatch that it had been ordered and what needed to be done when they came to fix it. Also, my initial contact over the phone could have been handled better. The woman who answered was very short with me and my questions.
Despite these slight setbacks I will be using them again. I also appreciate that they didn't try to sell me something I didn't need and they don't work on commision.

They get 1 star because there is not a ZERO option. The unit they sold me is too small, the duct work was run inefficiently, AND they forgot to install some type of water line on the unit in the attic and it flooded my daughters room and it now has a severely elevated mold reading. I was also told running the AC would only add ""about $60"" to my SDGE BILL.
I can only get my home lowered 5 degrees in 12 hours, the unit runs non stop, and you can barely feel air coming trough the vents. Not a good experience. Electric bills are routinely over $400.

This company and its representatives are shady at best. Their 100% focus before looking at one thing was what type of complete replacement system they would like to install. I knew within 45 seconds of them walking in the door what their answer was. Compared to the other FIVE companies I worked with they are a complete sham and, despite being told that they could come out and give me a free estimate, they charged me $140 for them to do nothing more than come in and try to make another sale. This is only the beginning from me on this..trust.

We had Mauzy install a new heater in our attic several years ago, along with new controls for both the upstairs and downstairs units. They came to our house and worked up an estimate with options on which units would fit in our existing space.
We made our selection with their help, and had the new unit up and running in less than a week, which included ordering the new unit and delivery.
Mauzy's service techs were on time and courteous. Got the job done and cleaned up after themselves with no issues.
Would definitely hire them again, and have referred them to our neighbors and friends with no complaints from anyone.

They did great work and would definitely get 5 stars if I was just rating the customer service and the actual work done on the house. Here is the only reason I'm deducting 1 star:
A little background....We decided at the end of the year to make a last minute decision to get our ducting repaired in the attic and get insulation. I wanted to get the insulation done before the end of the year so I could take advantage of an SDGE rebate that expired on 12/31.
So since ducting should come before insulation, I called Mauzy for a ducting quote (after a referral from my insulation company). There was a little confusion or miscommunication up front which I didn't realize until the technician came to my house. I felt as though I was very thorough with explaining over the phone what needed to get done, but they sent a repair guy over for a service call rather than an estimator to quote the work to be done. It would have been $89 for the service call but they didn't charge me due to the error on their part. This ended up being the Friday before Christmas and I had left work early to be home. Since it was the end of the day, they could not get an estimator over in time so they ended up sending one the next morning (Saturday). So I am deducting 1 star for this slight inconvenience.
From here on out the service was a solid 5 stars:
Tommy came on Saturday morning and was great! He explained everything we needed and gave us different options since he knew we were trying to keep the cost down. He gave us his word that they would be able to get the job done in time for insulation and also apologized for the miscommunication on the previous day. We got the quote shortly after (over Christmas) and decided to use Mauzy. They were in on 12/26 morning and done by mid afternoon. They removed all the old ducting from our 50+ year old house, replaced it, and added new vents for better heating. They were also very professional and knowledgeable and I had a great experience with everyone I dealt with at Mauzy. I am sitting here the very next day, nice and warm with brand new ducting waiting for the insulation guys to arrive.
I would definitely recommend this company and we will use them again when we want to make enhancements.

I have a rental house in Santee that had issues with the heater. The problem is I no longer live in San Diego (in the military). A buddy of mine referred me to Mauzy and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Of the three companies I spoke with, Mauzy was the most professional, had the best price and clearly explained the issues (and options for repair) with the heater. My tenant even commented on how neat the service guys left the place. The other thing that impressed me with Mauzy is the fact that they actually sent me the invoice as soon as the work was completed. This is the forth repair I have made on my rental (first heating repair) since leaving San Diego. The other three times it took me more than a month and several calls to get a copy of the invoice.
