I had quite The Week with Mauzy last week. Mark Mejia came on Monday to do my yearly inspection. The A/C wouldn't turn on and when opened Freon was everyone. I had had them do $2,400 worth of stopgap fixes the year before hoping for three more years. I got credit for that work and a great price on a new HVAC system. If you follow Mark around you'll get an entire HVAC lesson! Tuesday Carlos Camareo came for the install with a sorta helper in tow. Carlos had pulled the old A/C and was almost done with the new, when at noon I went out to ask him to please stop and come in to do the furnace so I wouldn't be without heat. He did and made sure I had it before they left for the day. Finished early Wednesday morning. Carlos or as I like to call him Saint Carlos, basically worked alone, was so calm with me. Can't say enough good things. Also on Tuesday Jesse Hall flushed all my water pipes. He had to show me where the cutoff valve was! He even flushed my tankless water heater. So polite and informative. These men are backed by a fantastic team at customer service and dispatch and I love working with them all! That being said my hero and vote for employee of the month goes to Arturo Carrertero!! Thursday night my one and only toilet died! When it rains it pours. It wouldn't quit running and taking off the lid discovered that it was within an inch of overflowing! So thankful Jesse had showed me the cut off. Called in the morning Friday AND THEY WORKED ME IN!!!!! Arturo was here by 1pm and had to order the new unit from Oceanside. Delivery was made and he came back to install. They had sent the wrong seat unit. By now it was going on 7pm. Overtime on a Friday night, ugh. Arturo said I am not leaving you without a working toilet so he reinstalled the old one. He had replaced the frozen turn off valve so I didn't have to go outside. Then he did magic to keep if from running on. He was back in the morning with an upgraded Kohler and charged me the original price! I know this is long but it was a week and lots of people to praise. Everyone at Mauzy and the new team from Sherlock needs a standing ovation. Do not hesitate or look further HIRE THESE PROFESSIONALS.

Joel fixed my problem and kindly refunded my money! I felt that Joel listened to my complaint, and agreed with me so much so as I already said, he refunded my money entirely.

Kross Elliott was a great representative for Mauzy Heating. Professional, knowledgeable, and got the job done! Thank you Kross

Ezra was professional and efficient. He cleaned and checked my heating system and made recommendations to prevent any future issues. Even though we were not able to get the extra work done at this time we appreciate knowing what needs to be done.
Thank you Ezra!

Not so ""Smart"" Membership
At some point in 2023 Mauzy was acquired and service under new ownership has plummeted. FYI: older, positive reviews here represent the pre-acquisition company, not current ownership.
Last summer (2023) I called Mauzy to service my Mauzy-installed AC unit. They rescheduled the first appointment because they were ""inundated with broken systems"". I rescheduled, and when that date came, they again canceled, with no reason given. Yet again, I rescheduled, and this time they called and said they couldn't make the window. I shifted things around and was able to meet the tech.
I shared my scheduling challenges with the tech--which clearly weren't his fault--and he then sold me on the new ""Smart Membership"" program. He said members received priority and so I wouldn't go through this again.
Fast forward to today...I made an appointment a week ago for the annual checkup, took the day off of work to be home for it, and guess what happened? They canceled. First it was ""too many emergencies"", and then ""short on technicians"".
""Smart Membership"" is a sham. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... I miss the Mauzy of old. The new guys treat customers like fools. I'm done.

Mauzy, rhymes with Lousy.
Well... it's Day 63 and we still have not received what we paid for. It's been 17 days since our contact guy - Trey - has contacted us about making good on what we paid for. We heard several days ago from the Costco rep but nothing since. We were sold equipment that sits unused, $1800 worth.
If you want to call and text and text and call and wait for a reply, this is your company. If you want to keep HVAC on your to-do list day after day after day, you found your peeps. If you want to be treated like an afterthought, welcome home baby!!
Sneakers and Snickers bars, that's what we needed. Sneakers since we have been chasing management almost this entire time. And a case of Snickers bars. You've seen the commercials... ""not goin' anywhere for a while...""
What started out as a very good experience in the initial sales and installation process, turned into a disappointing circus of unfulfilled promises that put lousy, er, Mauzy into that overcrowded bucket of trade companies that did not follow through - even with a TON of chasing on our part. They promised ""A"" and delivered ""D"".
The field personnel - installers Chris and Christian & service tech Cory - were very nice people who did an OK job after all - when they got here. They were friendly and respectful. We got to know them quite well since it took 7 service visits to do the installation. Show of hands - who wants to make arrangements 7 times to be home from work for a service call? Didn't think so.
Management on the other hand, the ones you need to talk to to GET someone to the house and resolve any questions or problems... wow... so unavailable. Not unfriendly but just extremely hard to reach to resolve anything. Good luck getting a timely response to a call or text or email. If you do, then good luck with follow through. Grab that Snickers mate!
I suppose if you got sold the proper equipment for your home - we did not - and the job was problem free - ours was not - then maybe you'd be OK. (If you want the details on the wrong equipment, read at the end of this review).
Trey, the ""comfort manager"" I think his title is, was so respectful of our privacy and space that he probably just didn't want to bother us with all those silly replies to our calls and texts and trouble us with following through on the written agreement. Details.
He was so cute insisting we got the right equipment when the whole premise of the repeated trips at the end was to redo the installation because the equipment didn't fit our application. :/ Does this remind anyone ELSE of that kid with chocolate and cookie crumbs all over his mouth who swears he didn't eat those cookies ? Bless his heart... so cute.
The HVAC was from COSTCO and lousy, er, Mauzy does their installations. The Costco contact person I never spoke to, just texted. Very friendly but no help. Lots of promises with little results.
If you want to roll those dice, OK. Your call. By the way, Mauzy sold and installed the equipment that we got through Costco Home Services. Not a good reflection on Costco either.
(EQUIPMENT DETAILS: Why the equipment was wrong - we have a crawlspace not an attic. This requires a furnace that blows the air down into the ducts in the crawlspace. Air needs to be filtered BEFORE it gets into the furnace. That's furnace 101.
Imagine an air filter in your car that is on your exhaust pipe instead of under the hood where it needs to be to clean the air before it goes into the engine. Ridiculous right?
We were sold an air filter box for an additional $1800 that goes unused now because it cannot be fitted to filter the air BEFORE it goes into the furnace. It was installed to filter the hot air AFTER the furnace - the air going into the ducts to the house.
The furnace is one that cannot be modified (some can, but not this model) to accommodate the air filter box we were sold and provide clean air to the furnace. So, the box sits below the furnace - empty. If the furnace could not be installed to accommodate the air filter box, why were we sold that furnace? Why were we sold the filter box?
With this in mind, I asked Trey why we were sold equipment that was not properly suited to our home design, and he insisted that the salesman sold us the right equipment. When I asked why, he just said because that's what he was told. He could not explain it, nor was he open to any reasonable discussion that the equipment was wrong. Chocolate and cookie crumbs on the mouth, yet ""I swear I didn't eat those cookies, mom..."").
Mauzy, rhymes with Lousy.)

Called a few weeks ago regarding failed solar panel installed by Mauzy. Should have been under warranty via Mauzy, but was told they don't do solar any longer. Whatever happened to standing behind their product even if they have to subcontract the repair.

In my personal experience, Mauzy Heating, Air, Solar, has not lived up to their stated promises and standards outlined on their Website, which states a "" promise of 100% Satisfaction and Guarantee that they we will do whatever it takes to make it right. YOU HAVE OUR WORD"".
In 2015, Mauzy installed a new Fujitsu mini split system that has had a number of tech documented issues including poor drainage. Tech comments indicate "" a very musty smell, due to improper drainage"". In addition to the initial installation costs, I have spent approximately $7,150 on repairs, none of which mitigated the drainage issue. On the technician visit on 11/21/23, due to a significant amount of water spilling from the unit, he indicated I need to contact his supervisor for next steps. On 11/22/23 I called and left message with one of the phone reps to have supervisor return my call, indicating it was urgent. Despite approximately 15 calls to 6 different phone reps, I did not receive a return call until 1/4/24 an estimated total of 30 plus days. Based on this lack of response, Mauzy has failed to do ""THE RIGHT THING"" and failed to live up to their promises and standards of excellence including, Be Responsive, Build Trust, Be Transparent, and ""Do whatever it takes to make it right, YOU HAVE OUR WORD"" As a result, I cannot and will not recommend Mauzy Heating Air Solar to anyone.

I joined Mauzy program that for 200 some bucks a year I get inspections on the equipment. Francisco came out to do the furnace on Dec 22. I pulled the attic ladder down, turned the light on and went downstairs. He finished came downstairs and said all done, do you have a step ladder cause the attic door won't close completely. Not thinking I said, oh I will go get it later. About an hour later I went upstairs and saw this. The attic ladder was completely bent. I tried contacting mayzy, no one would get back in touch. Finally Sherlock plumbing came out to inspect my plumbing. I would give Sherlock 5 stars. The plumber said yeah, Mauzy manager is very poor on customer service. He reported the damage and I eventually I heard from Rachel Moore on Jan 3. She said Mauzy would replace the ladder. Since then I've emailed her 4 times, no responses. It's feb 7 l. I'm filling out small claims forms and plan to file a lawsuit to get reimbursed for the damage Mauzy did to my house. What a hassle tho. Now the vent to my master bedroom is not opening. It's been cold and I have no heat to my master and cannot get into the attic to open the damper. I would recommend avoiding mauzy. If they break your house they run away and won't help you.

My wife and I recently remodeled our home in Lake Murray. We contracted with Costco to replace the existing Hvac system and Mauzy was the company they used. The whole operation was very easy and the staff, including the estimater and technicians were experienced and did a great job. They were all knowlegable, friendly, well organized and showed a great deal of professionalism. I highly recommend this company.
