Unfortunately, I have some experience with plumbers in the Berkeley area (see my other Yelp reviews on this topic). Mauro's was among my best experiences. They were able to come to my house the next day, gave me a ONE HOUR time window for arrival, arrived ON TIME, and was reasonably priced (yes, $150 is reasonable in the Bay Area)! They knew what they were doing, got it done, and went on their way. Best possible outcome.

The rock retaining wall on my daughter's Kensington house finally put enough pressure on an old house supply pipe that it sprang a leak at a joint. It was a Saturday so my choices were limited. I ended up getting big chain company out, but they showed up without parts to fix an iron pipe, and gave me an exorbitant price to replace the whole line. I ended up fixing the leak temporarily with a strip of inner tube. Based on Yelp reviews I called Mauro's Plumbing. They sent out Jose and another plumber who looked at the line replacement and said ""not a problem"". The job looked big to me: tunnel under sidewalk, tunnel under rock retaining wall, trench up the hill, under walkway and another rock wall to the house. Their bid was very reasonable and we set up a date. That day I came by at 10 am and they had already gone under the sidewalk and wall. I came back at 3:30 and they were just finishing hooking up the new copper line. They also installed a T and 2 valves at no extra cost. Later that afternoon they filled in all the diggings so well that my daughter didn't even notice that the yard had been dug up - it looked the same as before. I give them 10 stars. They are competent, hard working and really nice people. Will hire them again.

I normally don't do reviews but this experience was above and beyond my expectations. To start off I had a leaking shut off under my sink and leaking main shut off. Javier from Mauro's was called to assist. He started by repairing the leak below the sink. he then soldered the main line and installed the new shut off. After he left I tested all the faucets and toilets. Our main bathroom flushed but did not refill. I called Mauro's and was greeted by a very attentive receptionist that called Javier back out. Javier returned, cleaned out the shut off valve, replaced the hose and replace a float in the tank. This fixed the problem! I was notified that they would review the situation and possibly get charged for the re-visit. To my surprise i received an email today and was told there wouldn't be any further charge. When you need a plumber, Call Mauro's!

I called Mauro for several jobs after. He is amazing. Every job is done in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, he has a very rude office manager Amy. I don't know why she is always angry. She was rude on the phone, in the email. She didn't care to understand the situation or simply ask questions. When I question about her decisions, she simply told me to find someone else to do the job if I don't agree with her. I really enjoyed Mauro's work and attitude. I would like to call him again for future work. Frankly, I have to simply reduce a star because I have to deal with Amy before I can get to Mauro.

I never thought I'd leave a review on yelp for a plumbing company, but these guys really do deserve to be recognized for their fine work, friendly employees, and straightforward business ethics. From Amy in the office, who is always friendly and pleasant to speak to whenever I call, to pragmatic Mauro who gives reasonable quotes and good advice, to the various considerate, cleanly, and punctual employees, this really is a great company to work with. I had over at least a half dozen plumbers for estimates and was really bummed out about either their attitudes or their sky-high prices-- but now that I've worked with Mauro, I don't even bother getting other numbers because I know he will give me a fair price.

Great experience -- scheduling and communications were very prompt and the team was able to come by my house in just a few days. More impressively, there was a small issue with the initial fix and the team came back to my house and repaired it *that day* for no additional charge or fuss. Highly recommended.

We just had a fantastic experience with this company. We were desperate because our sewage pump was broken, and the smell was horrible. Mauro's men came out almost immediately and assessed the problem, got the part within a few days, and showed up earlier than they said they would to fix it! That's a huge bonus. Their prices are quite reasonable, I think. They charged $360 for several hours of unpleasant labor while wading in sewage. I highly recommend Mauro's.

My water heater died at a few years old, the warranty was near useless (Rheem), and I needed to find a plumber fast. I dreaded contacting all the places that charge outrageous amounts for estimates and gouging prices for repairs.
Then I found Mauro Plumbing. Their price was very fair (not dirt cheap but that's OK), they were able to come take a look at it, I got the parts from the manufacturer, and they installed them the next day. They were knowledgeable and did a perfect job. Also a pleasure to deal with.

These guys are excellent! As good as it gets. They do really excellent work! Mauro is amazing. Super knowledgable and skilled. And, just a great all-around guy. His team was really good as well. All very professional, and all very good at what they're doing. Nice job Mauro, great company!
