RJ from Mattson plumbing installed my water heater in 2022. RJ refused to send a receipt for the work even after repeated requests (he just kept promising to send tomorrow and then stopped responding altogether).

NOTE TO OTHERS: please make sure to get a paid receipt from him before making any payment.

The water heater had a leak less than one year after install. After many requests, he finally came to take a look. He initially misdiagnosed the issue, then later said that he needed some parts, then took weeks to reach out to the manufacturer. The manufacturer shipped some parts overnight, which RJ finally installed, but this didn't resolve the issue. RJ again stopped picking up the phone and stopped responding to any texts.

The unit was still under warranty, but he wanted us to pay $500 for service. Note that the issue wasn't fixed and his work order clearly mentioned that he provides 2 years of Warranty on install, and unit has its own warranty. I agreed to paying that but requested a receipt first, but he again used those deferral tactics saying send me the money first and he will send a receipt the next day. Looks like this is his standard practice, and he is doing something fraudulent by not officially reporting those earnings.

NOTE TO OTHERS: Please stay away from this company.

The unprofessionalism of this company has caused us significant pain (being without hot water for more than 3 weeks). He still refuses to send us a receipt for the water heater which we need for manufacturer warranty for further repairs.

If I could give more than five stars I would! RJ and his team are amazing. I left a voice mail on late Friday night and RJ had gotten back to me within the hour. we had an appointment set and him and his team came out to take care of our situation. RJ is so professional and friendly. walked us through everything that needed to be done and exactly what they were going to do to fix it. I will definitely be using them for any plumber issues or projects we may have in the future!!

I had an issue with a water heater on a Discovery Bay rental. I am currently out of state and needed it repaired for my tenants asap. I found Them on Yelp and called. RJ was there within a couple hours and got the system running. Didn't even want to charge me. May have been an easy fix however I will definitely pay them for the service call.
My tenant is happy.
A professional an honest tradesmen is rare.

I appreciated that they were flexible and made the appointment with me through text, because I'm not always able to answer the phone. They were wearing masks when they arrived, and were very respectful of the property. Taught me how to fix the problem in the future! I loved that they text when heading over and when they arrived. Super easy to work with, and they were very professional.

Don't waste your time like my time was wasted. RJ never showed up for our appointment . After being very late, I called to ask if he was coming over. RJ said he would be over in an hour. Nothing, he never showed or called.
So I called back again after 2 1/2 hours past our scheduled appointment time and my call went directly to voicemail, which was full. This is inexcusable and totally unprofessional. I would never call Mattson Plumbing again
