Update: The owner did reach out to me and offered to fix the problem and pay me back for anything I had to spend back in May. My home warranty company has assigned this company again to us. We are giving them a second chance with hopes that they will be great.

My home warranty company sent them my claim when my AC went out. Myself and my husband tried to call many times, sat on hold and left an voicemail. My home warranty company tried to call and email as well. I understand that AC company's are very busy this time of year but I couldn't even get ahold of anyone just to see if they were actually available to come out. It's very disappointing because my mother in law had good things to say about them. Maybe if you have time to wait around for a call back they are worth it but if you are needing to speak with someone right away, then I suggest you move on. I am just looking to save someone else some time and frustration.

I am very disappointed with how my service was or really has not been handled. My AC has been out for 5 days, I filed my claim on Sunday 5/13 and Master Tech was supposed to contact me in 48 hrs, I had to contact them, the best they could do was set me an appt today Friday 5/18/2018 between 2 and 5pm, as of now 6pm, no call from them, I had to call them, when I did call I got Rachel the customer service manager who actually hung up the phone on me and was quite rude in my opinion. Its now past 6pm and no call, Rachel assured me the tech would call me and not go home until my service was complete. Well still not complete. This is horrible customer service, I tried to call Master Tech and now all I get is voice mail for Rachel "the customer service manager" I am guessing since its Friday Rachel wanted out of the office. Now that I have taken work off for the afternoon, I will have to contact my home warranty again to start all over and still no AC.

My home warranty paired me with this company. The customer service is excellent and they have a very friendly staff. However, expect to be on hold for a very long time before you actually talk to someone. I called several times and was on hold for 5-10 minutes each time until I got impatient and hung up. It was a very nice experience once I got someone on the phone. I understand they A/C companies are extremely busy during the summer so I don't hold this against them.

My A/C was working but it did not have a lot of pressure. Turns out the air filter was filthy and needed to be replaced (I know, rookie mistake). Per my home warranty, I am to pay the cost of the repair or a $100 service fee, whichever is less. All the technician did was test the pressure and then pull out the air filter. This must be a high priced company because it was cheaper to pay the $100 service fee. The customer service here was great but I would shop different companies to find a cheaper rate before using this company again.

I am editing my review. I received a call from Matt, who I believe is a Co-Owner. He informed me that he'd read my initial review and was very concerned about the service I'd received. He informed me that the plumber Adam was no longer with them. He gave what seemed to be a sincere apology for what we'd experienced. However, he went a step further by offering to replace my sink at NO charge, as well as attempting to accommodate us by offering to have a plumber come out on the weekend, in an effort to keep us from taking off work.

I can respect a company who is willing to own-up to their mistake, and put forth genuine efforts to make good on them. The faucet was replaced with one that was an upgrade from the previous one.

Since this review does not include a full name, it took some effort to find out that I was the customer that wrote the original review. I was contacted by and owner. The BAD employee was no longer working for them. My faucet was replaced to my wife and my satisfaction. For these reasons, I would recommend this company and would use them again. Due to my original experience, I can't get them a 5 star, however I will give them a 4, with the opportunity to earn a 5 when I call on them AGAIN!

Big RIP OFF!
My hot water heater went out on a Wednesday - it was 18 degrees, and the water was ridiculously cold. I have home warranty, and they couldn't send anyone until the following Monday - Master Tech.

I took off work on Monday to be there. The technician asked me where the water heater was leaking from. When I told him where I thought it was coming from, he did not even get down on the floor and look. He did not touch a pipe, take a measurement, or even touch the hot water heater - simply asked me where I thought it was leaking from, and said it needed to be replaced.

He then told me he had to go out to his van and call my warranty service. He was outside for about 15 minutes, came back in and said that with my warranty (which covers replacement and covers plumbing) it would cost me $1195.00 to replace my hot water heater.

He showed me his written list of "extras" that my warranty does not cover...
a $12.45 water flex line (as quoted to me from local plumber) for $175 through Master Tech,
$150 haul off fee for an item that my garbage company would take,
$150 for accessing code ????
He told me that my water line had to be replaced, as it was the wrong size. (that was over $300) The local plumber told me that it does NOT have to be replaced, as any home built before the code changed to 3/4" is grandfathered in to the 1/2" size.
ETC, ETC...

The local plumber quoted me $800 LESS for supplies - and he was including the cost of the hot water heater!! (That is about the only thing that Master Tech did not have on the list of my expenses.)

The Master Tech van had the home warranty company name in HUGE letters on the side. So, I am assuming that they have a scam going - people pay for warranty each month, then they send their own workmen and jack up the price!

The local plumber's estimate is hundreds of dollars lower than my estimate from Master Tech, who supposedly honors my plumbing and hot water heater replacement warranty.

I will be contacting channel 5 consumer reporters about this.

I should have done a review sooner, I don't remember all the details. The initial tech or rep, not sure what he was, nice fellow though, came to do initial diagnosis. I put in service request through First American Home for my upstairs unit not working/cooling. He looked at it, and said it needed refrigerant, but the system I have, uses the old refrigerant that was banned in 2015, absolutely lousy, darn EPA, not everyone can afford or wants a new $15,000K system. He gave me two options, replace everything, since it's about 10 years old anyways, or try and retrofit existing unit with new parts to convert to new refrigerant. I wasn't too sure and did not want to think on it too long. I had money and opted for a new system. I did some research, and still not sure to this day if I was scammed. He was courteous and friendly though. We had this set up through Wells Fargo, and scheduled other techs to bring new American Standard units in the next day for installs.

Techs drove quite a long ways to get here to do the installations, they're from different parts of the state. One was a bit grumpy, but didn't give me attitude or anything, I didn't mind though, it's some 110F outside and had to manually carry the units upstairs and other heavy lifting. They tracked dirt and mud into the house, but again I didn't mind too much. Takes 5 mins to vac and mop after them. They had some small minor logistics issues with parts not being rated correctly for current unit and quickly went to get the parts. I stayed out of their way for the most part, but they did take the initiative to be as communicative as they could on what they were doing and problems they came across.

AC works, house is cooled. Took about 2-3 days total, I don't remember. They got large unit going the first day and finished the details in the days to follow. Techs were cool, focused, mission oriented, courteous, straight to the point.

It's cold now, and I found out there is a weird automation issue with AUX heat not kicking on fan to continue warming the house, after heat pump gets the call to stop. I'm not sure if this is related to the tech's installations, or if this is a product issue with the panel and American Standard units.

This company installed our system. It was VERY expensive. We did get a 10 year warranty. We have been having issues with heating and cooling three rooms in our home. When I called to have someone fix the problem, I was told they don't do duct work. My feeling is this should have been looked at before, or while they system was being installed. What good is a heating system that only heats part of your home? I would NOT recommend this company. This company is hard to get a hold of too.

Sorry company. AHS sent them out. Tech Brendon Jackson came out went up in my attic immediately came down and told me I needed an electrician to come out and install a disconnect and then he would be back. Had a disconnect installed I called master tech back and was told my claim was denied and that Master Tech did not want to come back.

Dont know exactly what the problem was maybe because I am a black lady and Brendon did not want to repair my heater. I have been without heat since Tuesday, December 26th and it is Friday 30th.

Black people in Amarillo Texas do not get Master Tech to service anything for you.

Oh by the way Master Tech called me this morning, Friday December 30th and said they were sending a tech out.

My reply,

No thank you another company has been contacted.

Master Tech is now under new leadership and has a wonderful and caring staff. I reached out to Master Tech for some assistance with some hot water heater routine cleaning. The staff called 30 minutes to arrival as stated they would do, they arrived on time and provided me a wealth of information and options.

The Master Tech technician was knowledgeable and also very hospitable as I had a tragic event happen with one of my fur-babies during their visit. Their cost was super affordable, they were dependable, and while they had the chance to try and sell me on crap i did not need, they were reputable and presented all options and suggested timeframes.

If you need anything I suggest reaching out to the below - Or any of their general staff.

This company is incompetent. Do NOT use them. The tech arrived two days, yes, two days late. He showed up late at night and said he was tired. He rushed through the evaluation and didn't even check the inside unit for the correct parts to order (probably because he would have to get in the attic). It took them more than five days to order the parts and, as of now, it's been an additional nine days and still no parts. They do not return phone calls and when you call to check the status they are rude and the woman screamed at me. We were told because we have a home warranty policy we were at the bottom of the list, "because we don't make any money off of you." He then told us we needed all of these unnecessary extras to the tune of $990.00. If you don't make any money then stop taking the claims. Worst company I've ever dealt with, hands down. If I could give them a -10 rating I would. Three weeks with no AC in July....Yippey A report will be filed with the Better Business Bureau. Better luck to the next person.
