I should have read the reviews, quoted $149, then $280, when they showed it went to $540.00 and trying for another $300 for chemicals. So lets look at my 750 gal septic tank which has a 6"""" cleanout pipe. so no digging, just drop the 4"""" hose in and pump out the tank. About 35 minutes to back in, pull the hoses, put them in the tank, drain the tank, put hoses away, write out an absurd invoice. Read reviews, call three companies, forget any quotes over the phone, let them come out and give a free estimate. no free estimate? say goodbye, absurd estimate, say goodbye. Screw me once shame on you screw me twice shame on me.

Aw man it looks like my family member was taken advantage of here as well. I wish they had gone on Yelp or at least Google to check out the reviews from others who were deceived. They recommended risers and the job took like 30 mins-ish for a total of $1500. Something does not sit well or sound right

This is the most deceptive and dishonest company. I was given 3 quotes for different scenarios. Sounded fair at first. After they uncovered the septic tank and found a couple of issues, they wanted full payment upfront of 3100 dollars. 1 thousand more than what was quoted. After haggling with the guy he came down to 2800, still not knowing if the problem was fixed. Long story short they didn't fix the problem and left with the main line from the house to the tank stopped up. They were supposed to have repaired pipes in the tank and replaced pipe to field lines and did not. Had to hire another company to come out and replace the main line to the tank and repair the pipes in the tank. I am not through with this yet. I tried to get some of my money back but the owners gave me excuses and wanted me to compare prices which is hard to do when you're dealing with crooks. Do Not Use this Company!

i live alone in a 5 year new build home. Came home from work to find my septic alarm was off. no issues or problems just alarm so figured my tank needed emptied for some reason. Master Rooter initially quoted $150 to empty tank. Made appt for for day throughout the day June 30th btwn 10-1. Didnt arrive until 630pm. Said ticket stated i needed a NEW Pump. i said no but guess what they said i DID need a new pump. had to ask SEVERAL times for a break down of charges. Claimed i needed a NEW Mercury Float and Check Valve anf Check Valve Rack comings to $3036 and this did not cover tp empty tank. that would have been another over $1000 with them giv me a discount they claimed. Too much to say in one complaint Bottom Line - Late, inconsistent communication and pricing. i believe they charged for things i did not need, overcharged for what they did, left the job incomplete so they have to come back, took short cuts and are simply not to be trusted. I wont use them ever again

Septic tank had too much solids on top and was blocking inlet. I need my inlet repaired. Master Rooter claims they pump out for $150 plus $100 each foot of solids. They claimed my whole tank was solid even though you could see it was only the top foot. Billed me $650. These people are bad about this after reading other reviews. Stay away from them.

Use this company at your own risk. We had this company to replace our back fill pipes on our septic tank which should have a life of 20 years or more. Our back filled pipes were replaced in 2019 and now it's 2022 and our entire system is failing. I called to notify them of the system failure and their response was to charge us $3000 to repair the pipes. We paid them $10,000 for our septic tank to be repaired in 2019. This is no fault of ours and this company did not do good work.

If you are looking for a group of con men, then this is your company. They came out, dug up my yard, told me that the roots of trees had completely ate up the drain line, said that it would cost 3500 dollars to fix it. I paid them, because what do you do when there is a open sewage pit in your back yard? They spent 3 hours with 2 guys and put in 30 dollars with of pvc pipe and was gone. 2 months later, my toilets won't flush and they took a week to return my call, and they want 600 dollars to just come back out and pump a 1000 gallon tank with a riser on it. I would not send these people to my worst enemy.

That 1 star is not my giving. The system wouldn't allow me to give 0 star. Please, please stay away from MASTER ROOTER. These thieves are the worse I ever came across in any business at all!! The technician/thief was Steven and in tow was David(just doing what the bandit Steven told him to do). The price I was quoted to pump my septic was I think $150. I didn't mind since I know it was a while back since it might have been pumped by the previous owner. Whenever it rains, water would backup into the bathroom downstairs. Steven told me that he'll need to open the lid to see what was going on so I gave permission and he dug the ground up and took off the lid. The tank was below 1/2 full but he insist on pumping it(I have pics of this) he then quickly pretended to evaluate the situation and told me that he need to change the drain pipe that goes in the drainfield because it wasn't inserted correctly. I asked if that would take care of the problem and he said yes. He knew I was frustrated and desperate for a solution. The cost?? Between $2,200-2,800. He told me about a 3rd party creditor that they recommend. I didn't go with it because I thought of the interest rate they were charging. Steven gave instructions to David who was doing the actual pipe fittings and he operated the backhoe. At the end they covered the hole and I paid Steven $2800, signed the paper just thinking that my problem was over. A few days later we had rain and I was in denial when my family told me the bathroom was flooded. I almost fainted...$2800 and I'm looking at sewer water flowing over the shower edge!!! I called them and Steven came back out and took pictures of a county storm drain pipe that ran across my property and told me that he thinks that drain pipe was busted and pushing water into my septic tank. He said I needed to contact the county. The county inspector told me on the phone that their system is designed to suck so if I had a sinkhole in my yard then they would have to look into it. I was determined to have them inspect my property to clear them of this and so they did come out and NO the county is not at fault. When I called back Master Rooter I was told to speak to Steven who wanted to come back out to dig again and I told him no because I was having enough water backing into my house already. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me that my system is old and needs a replacement which is $11,000 and they'd apply 1/2 of what I paid before or $1400 to the $11,000. I had to close off the toilet and shower in that bathroom completely. Today is 10/20/20 and I'm still living with the condition because I can't afford to pay another sewer company to do the job. The $2800 I paid included all my savings plus some that I borrowed. All that for what was supposed to be peace of mind but instead a nightmare. While David was in the hole fitting the pipes together Steven looked so uneasy and it was afterwards that I realized he probably was just thinking how easy in about 2 hrs he walked away with $2800. As he was leaving he said thank you, we're going to have lunch grinning from ear to ear. I guarantee Steven is going to pay for my pain and suffering and my family's discomfort. The law is for dishonest people like him. He'll regret the day he ever took my money under false pretense. He's digging his own pits with every $ that he robs from innocent victims.

We had a little backup issue and called several companies and they were all really busy, but we not Master Rooter. Called and said they would be at the house that day between 12pm-3pm with an hour advance call and the most I would pay to have the tank pumped at worst case scenario was $475.00. I thought that was right in the ball park so I made the appointment and made some arrangements at work to leave early so I could be there for when they arrived. 3:11 pm rolls around and I finally received a call to advise me the technicians were on their way. They arrived at 4:36 pm which is fine but if it would have been nice to get a call to tell you they were going to be an hour and a half late. Oh well, so they took the kids off the tank and needless to say the tank was pretty full. The first thing Nolan said was the concrete baffle was destroyed and I could clearly see it was gone. He stated that they """"couldn't"""" pump the tank unless I paid $1450 to replace them. That was quite a shock from $475.00, but the way he described it, it was quite labor intensive to replace these baffles. Well, this is not my cup of tea so I agreed to pay it and avoid damaging the drain field pipes. So they finished pumping and started to break some of the old concrete baffle away to access the inlet and outlet pipes. Once that was done they glued maybe $50.00 worth of PVC pipes together, stuck them onto the original inlet and outlet pipes and called it a day. They put the kids back on and they were gone. I told Nolan and Dillion, that wasn't a $1000.00 worth of work and he replied, but you agreed to it. I laughed because I did sign for it but if I had known really what all it involved I would have said nope, I'll do that myself. I have nothing bad to say about Nolan or Dillion but I do feel that they could have did that replacement job for $500 and I wouldn't have felt like I was taken advantage of, but sometimes in life you have to live and learn. It may be Master Rooters policy you mark up these jobs because they are money hungry or because they know they can. Moral of this review is, take the time to know what you are having done and be prepared when they throw a $1000 extra bill your way.
