We have been using MPH for many years - we live in a 100+ year old Brooklyn brownstone. Most recently, they replaced a # of old, cracking, intertwined pipes in our basement, including the pipe from our tenant's toilet (involved resetting that fixture). This work also involved several visits ahead of time (at my request) to plan together about the work and to coordinate this work with that of a basement waterproofing company. MPH is always prompt in their communications and appointments, they provide professional and high quality service, and their prices are fair. I recommend them most highly.

Have used them for years. My landlords used them before I was a homeowner and even as a tenant when they came to service the building they gave me good information. Now as a homeowner of over 15 years, I've depended on them....their work is always good, and if they don't get it right the first time (say, in diagnosing a problem), they will stand by their work and get it right. Also have had them do big jobs (switch out older water heater/boiler.) In my experience, it's a good business run by dependable and pleasant people.

I used Martin Plumbing for the first time and had a great experience. I found the plumber, Nuquay, very nice and it was clear he knew his trade. Like most contractors they will give you a 2 or 3 hour range for when they will arrive. I asked them to call in advance so I had enough time to get home and they did that which was very helpful. I feel like they are a very customer focused company which is great.
Also I felt the company's pricing was fair. Overall I would definitely use this company again and recommend them to my friends.

Had a water compliance job done by this business last year. Received no communication and follow ups after the job was done. As a result i had to pay another plumber for the same job that he was hired to do in the first place. 5 months later he then produce an invoice and asked me to pay for the water compliance certificate in which I NEVER received. Grant himself denied all responsibilities, offered no apologies and insisted it was not his fault even though it was EVIDENT and WRITTEN in writing that his guys had the wrong instructions/ email address written. When I spoke to him that the issue was resolved through another plumber, he frankly did not care. Even went as far as knocking on the invoice address to ask for payment (despite having explained that my folks live there, not me, so leave them out of it). Did not leave until I had threaten to call the police. Not to mention he had originally quoted ""around $100"" over the phone, the invoiced amount was $330.
Local service usually meant better service and efficiency, not in this case. Ended up paying twice for the same job and it was apparent Grant had close to zero work ethics. Extremely disappointing.

Martin's plumbing and heating was called to our residence after our smoke detectors went of due to our upstairs heat unit smoking. Christian and another guy fixed the problem but most important calmed me down. I can't thank them enough for their professionalism, fast service and explaining things in my language. Now I have a forever plumbing and heat company .

We have used this service several times over the last couple of years and always been satisfied with the work done. The dispatcher who answered the phone was very helpful and accommodating. The last time we called to fix a clogged drain we realized at the last minute that we also needed a pop-up assembly installed. We called and were told that it wasn't a problem. They have always done a good job whenever we called them and the staff are very friendly.

If I could give Martin Plumbing less than a star, I would. We have always used them to service our boiler in the past, as well as do other plumbing. We had never had any problems before. Had to call them last week when our boiler overflowed, getting water throughout the system to leak from almost every radiator, none of which was Martin's fault. We had drained the system before their plumber arrived. Because we had done that to get the water out of the pipes and stop all the water cascading through every room in the house, the valve that caused the problem seemed to be working. The valve is old. The plumber (a new guy to us) came out, pronounced the problem was gone without really checking the valve carefully, or assessing it's age or anything. He decided sediment must of been the problem even through we told him we had flushed water out of the system about 2 weeks ago. He said its probably fine and we should flush water more often. We asked is something wrong with the valve and he said no since it seemed to be working fine now. We asked if this could happen again and were told no, very unlikely since it seemed to be working again without his having done anything. He did some work on another pipe at our request. No problems while he was here but less than a week later the whole thing happened again causing much more extensive damage in the house. When we called Martin, got same guy on phone who didn't take any responsibility since ""it was fine while I was there and during the time I did the other work"". Also told us despite the fact we had to shut the boiler down and have no heat while it's 29 degrees outside that it would take 5 days for him to return because of his schedule. The new part would be $300 plus labor. We got a new plumber here who was able to see exactly what was going wrong with the valve immediately. As i sit here in freezing cold house, I can tell you that I am extremely unhappy with Martin Plumbing. I do not feel that their response was adequate at all, especially in light of the return of the original issue and the additional damage to my house.

Our Coop has used Martin a number of times and we have been very happy with the service provided. Customer services has responded promptly and when there is an emergency they have expedited a plumber to our building. We have also found the cost reasonable and the repair people friendly and knowledgeable. In our case, Martin has been the way to go and we will continue to use them.

Only bad experiences with Martin Plumbing. Did a terrible installation of a new water heater--advised me on the wrong size so it doesn't efficiently heat my apartment. Heater breaks down annually because according to Leon, pipes need to be drained before the heating season starts. Why he didn't tell me that when he first installed--well, probably because it costs me over $300 each year for him and his incompetent staff to come and drain the pipes. Completely took advantage of my lack of knowledge about plumbing. I trusted Leon and trust was totally misplaced.

Very unprofessional, very rude, but beyond that, really bad service. And completely overpriced. Take your business to Donato's or B&D.

Not particularly competent. They have wrong information and were unable to identify obvious problems. Had a leak coming through the ceiling in the basement that was obviously coming from the upstairs bathroom. The plumber said he couldn't find any problems. I also asked about our basement flooding and he said it was overflow rain water from the city and there was nothing to do. I got a second opinion plumber who found the problem with the first floor bathroom and fixed the leak. He also figured out that our sewer pipe was broken and that was causing the basement flooding. I think martin can handle and easy job like snaking a drain, but if you require anything more complicated than that, don't use them. They are unable to diagnose or problem solve any issue that requires more than one step.
