Marshall & Sons Service Center
Company Overview
We exist to support people when they face challenges and to help them prevent future complications for their homes, cars, and enterprises.
Involved in a car crash? Trapped in the sand? Heating failure in the dead of night? We can resolve all these issues and are on call for after-hours emergencies.
Keep in mind: After-hours assistance is at a premium. Emergency help is available but does carry extra fees.
Summer is our most active time, and we work hard to assist everyone promptly, but Montauk is bustling, and we can only do so much in a limited two-month window.
We recommend booking early in the summer, as our schedule fills fast, especially for inspections and air conditioning, and we can only handle a few each day.
Schedule at least two weeks in advance for vehicle inspections and reach out in May to secure your spot for summer AC service at your residence.
We provide all the services that others shy away from: from clearing your toilet to towing your vehicle from a ditch, to crawling through your crawlspace each year to turn your water on and off.
The work may not be glamorous, but it needs to be done, and we are the ones to do it.
In the 1920s, Marshall Prado, Sr. arrived in Montauk and worked for Carl Fisher, the architect of the town.
He served as Fisher's chauffeur.
The original garage was situated near the Montauk Manor. Later, following the 1938 hurricane, the business relocated to the town center, where a gas station was also established along with the garage.
Marshall and his wife Ellie had three sons and a daughter. The sons worked alongside their father at the station in town.
They expanded their services to include fuel oil delivery.
The family members served in the military and are active in the Montauk Fire Department.
After college and military service, the sons came back to Montauk to work with their father.
They acquired the business from him in 1977 and broadened their services to include HVAC installation, repair, and plumbing.
A third generation has been part of the team since the 1990s, modernizing equipment and streamlining operations.
They have added commercial refrigeration and design services to their offerings.

Total crooks !! The Spanish man put air in my tires when I asked him to only take a look at them. One minute and he dared ask me for 20 dollars !!
Went to this place to get a routine inspection . The mechanic "" Pete"" . Told me I needed an $800 brake job to pass due to my rear brakes not stopping my truck . Also claimed I was braking metal in metal which was not the case . No brake lights on , no issues at all with my truck . Decided to just get the brake pads replaced on my own . Went back for the re-inspection , again told me I needed new calibers and rotors . Was also extremely rude throughout the whole ordeal .
So I decided to bring my truck to me reg mechanic . He took one look at my brakes , and asked why I didn't go to him in the first place . Truck passed inspection with no issues . This ""Pete"" was trying to rip me off with unnecessary repairs .
Helped me out of a bind when the oil cooling pipe failed on my Highlander, resulting in major leak of almost all engine oil. Gave me advice on how to top up the oil to drive the car one block to the station, versus charging me $100 to tow. Fitted us in as we needed the car next day to drive back to Brooklyn. An employee drove that afternoon to Riverhead (maybe 2.5hr round trip) to get the part we needed from Toyota dealer, said he did not get back until 7.30pm. Car fixed in the morning. Cost $480 including 2hrs labor, parts and delivery fee, which was fair especially considering the rush job. They went above and beyond in the timeframe - much appreciated. This despite me being a visitor to Montauk and not a local repeat customer.
T R U T H O.Ask for Lous if you are here for car repair. Great guy, great mechanic! Straight up.Montauk is a tourist trap & the other place is awful!
Tiffany M.Absolutely overpriced. Needed to change one of my brake pads and the guy quoted me $1500 for other stuff I didn't need. Finally he only fixed one brake pad at $60 but the labor was $180 after he said it would only be $80. Such a ripoff. Should've just chanced my luck and gone somewhere else that wasn't in Montauk...
What a jerk. Was hoping to have a nice relationship with this shop as they're family owned and operated and came in. Asked about replacing a headlamp but instead got screamed at. Thought he was joking but he just kept going on and on and succeeded in making me feel like total crap. What a jerk.
Koy S.Terrible shop, awful people. I have half a mind to report them to the BBB. Charges labor hours for estimates. Threatened to not release our vehicle to us if we didn't pay for the charges which we did. Threatened to charge us for parking at the gas station while waiting on the return of our vehicle which was being towed to bring somewhere else. They wanted to rip us off by replacing our whole brake system for an arm and a leg. We brought it to our repair guy at home and it only needed to have some brake hoses bled and fixed. It's fitting they're located near the ocean where there are sharks. I just feel sorry for all the folks who go there.
Nicole S.If i could rate less I would. Very rude, overpriced and makes you feel dumb for even needing the help of a towing service. Find urself another area towing company bc this will only make the experience worse.
Emile S.Extremely rude and unprofessional. They even cursed and threatened us. I should have called the cops on them. If you want your car towed, you are better off calling Hammer at 631-375-9035. Do not do the same mistake we did.
Tommy W.Extremely rude staff, would advise to take business elsewhere unless you have no choice.
