Sorry, but in this market, charging USD 30 to provide an estimate is a bad business practice.

Every other plumber in this area provides a free onsite inspection and estimate.

In this case, I needed to have my main sewer line snaked after pulling my toilet. Very standard job. Every other plumber was able to quote based on that description of the work, with the caveat that if the actual issue required a different solution, the price could change.

If Marines Plumbing would at least quote their hourly rate (or flat fee for a defined issue / solution) over the phone, the estimate fee might be more justifiable (but still a mistake given the competition). However, since they refuse to be transparent about their cost over the phone and insist on coming onsite to do an inspection before providing an estimate, charging USD 30 is ludicrous. It's simply a high-pressure sales tactic to force a homeowner to choose them in order to avoid losing the USD 30 ""dispatch fee. ""

Around 12:30PM today, I discovered my sump pump was malfunctioning, running constantly, and overheating. After some investigation, I decided to call Marines Plumbing at 12:45PM. By 1:15, Shawn Rose was in my home. It's now 1:50, I have a new sump pump, installed, tested, and ready to go - along with a 3 year warranty. I can't recommend Marines Plumbing enough. Thanks for taking care of a potential headache so quickly.

Scheduling was a nightmare. Despite getting a real human at 9:00 in the morning (Ashley), we couldn't get any assurances anyone would be out. Too bad too, it was easy money.

The Yelp ""response time"" is fiction. You get a bot response and then wait for an actual reply which may take a day. So I called too. The call was responded to faster. Just not with an expectation of hiring a plumber.

I'm a veteran and really wanted to like and use these guys but I called another major plumber who was happy to take my money (4 digits) for about an hour's work. They responded in under an hour and were out in less than 2 hours and did amazing work.

When I encountered a stubborn clog that I couldn't snake out myself, I was glad to find this highly rated company.

The service pro Jason arrived early, diagnosed the problem quickly, and 45 minutes later my drain was clear. He then proceeded to give me advice on what actions I may need to take in the future if the problem persists. He even offered additional advice related to the care of my new home that I found incredibly valuable.

The price was a little higher than I expected, but it's worth paying a little extra to have the job done right. They currently have a yelp coupon that can be purchased to take $50 off the total, and they also offer a military discount, which I wasn't aware of at the time but will definitely take advantage of if I need their services in the future.

Had Marines plumbing fix a leaking pipe in ceiling. James arrived as scheduled and was very professional in assessing the problem and drawing up the estimate. Price was fair and after agreeing, James started working on the job. A short time later the job was finished. I highly recommend this company.

These guys are outstanding. We had a leaky kitchen faucet, and they were able to send a tech out the same day to troubleshoot it. We opted to purchase our own and they installed it in less than an hour the next day. Our tech, Dan, was super professional, friendly, and did a great job. Great pricing with options when compared to others. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend their services.
