Cynthia C.When your kitchen sink is backing up into your shower you are a little desperate to get the situation taken care of. I had also called them for this issue a year ago (literally one year and 4 days to the date) and both times they were there quickly and resolved the issue.
I'm not sure if other plumbing companies do this as well, but they had a record and notes of what was done the last time so that the second time it happened the service tech was able to pin point where to start and fixed it in no time!
My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel it's a little pricey at $170 just to get someone over to look at your issue. That includes whatever they can get done within one hour. Luckily, both times it was resolved in under an hour so the charge didn't exceed that. That being said, I have no other pricing to compare it to because I was so happy with Maplewood Plumbing the first time I didn't hesitate to call them again!
They did a great job. They replaced the faucets in 2 sinks and my bathtub in the master bath, and also the fixtures in my shower. They added a hot water faucet, 2 soap dispensers in my kitchen and replaced the kitchen faucet and faulty sprayer. They did a fantastic job. They were efficient, clean, professional and very reasonably priced. I will definitely use them again!
Robin R.Robert just came in and installed the waterline to my fridge. He was polite, courteous, worked very efficiently, explained what he was doing and thins to keep an eye on. 100% IMPRESSED! This is exactly the kind of customer service I wish all companies had. Maplewood Plumbing kept in very good contact with me from the initial phone call explaining what fees I could expect, setting up my time frame, calling to confirm my time frame, calling before arrival, and best of all I received the email invoice while Robert was still here so he could go over it with me and I was able to pay from my laptop. If i have any further plumbing issues, I will NOT hesitate to contact Maplewood again. A+ service all around!
The work performed was very good. The problem I have is with the cost. Initially my cost was $169. I ended up paying $859. I turned off the main shut off valve so the plumber could fix my kitchen sink. He said that water was still dripping and I need to turn it off more. When I turned it off more the valve broke.
At this point I should have been giving options of the cost. I was not giving any cost. After he spent 6hr working he gave me a $859 bill. He said it was $130 an hour plus parts. This should have been explained to me upfront. Lets suppose I did not have the money. If I knew the price I would have called around to find a better deal. The average cost to replace a water main shut off valve is $150.
Always ask upfront how much it will cost. Get a verbal or written estimate before any work is done. I am grateful my kitchen sink is fixed but I am pretty sure I was over charged. The ground was frozen and we had to dig with shovels to find the shut valve from the street. That took a little time. But there was no transparency in the cost. I think he told me to turn the shut off valve tighter because he knew it would break. My old valve had a big section of copper that he took with him. I know that was worth $10 or more is scrap but I did not say anything.
The plumber was professional and did a good job but he was not transparent in the cost. I know I could have gotten a better price.
I think this is a descent company but I will not be using them again.
James E.I used Maplewood on Mon 1/15/18 to clear a sewer line back. Dave arrived at the scheduled time with the latest technology. Not only was my sewer issue resolved, he also (1) provided show-n-tell throughout the entire experience and (2) determined the root cause of the sewer backup. All-n-all, Maplewood wasn't the cheapest experience but, it certainly was the most rewarding and customer focused. I would use them again.
I've used Maplewood Plumbing exclusively for almost 30 years, first in an older house in U.City, and now in a newer home in Olivette. Last week Aaron came to fix 3 small plumbing problems; a leaky kitchen faucet, a bathroom sink that didn't drain properly and a toilet that wouldn't stop running. The faucet, which I thought would take the longest to fix, took just minutes to repair, and the toilet, which I thought would be a quick fix, took the longest. He called when he was on his way here, was courteous and professional. I have always appreciated that Will, and before him his father Ron, run the business with efforts to keep home owners from spending unnecessary money. I always recommend Maplewood Plumbing when friends ask who to call.
Terrible Terrible Terrible. They have good reviews but obviously fell far from where they were. I had an appointment scheduled, received email confirmation, but when the day came no one showed or called. When I called them they told me they could not service me today but could not tell me why. Ashley, the lady on the phone told me to call after 4pm to speak to the manager. When i did i found out they close at 4. She was just lazy and didnt want to do her job. I have still not received a call back from the manager or anyone else. It has now been 3 days since i was supposed to receive services. Most unprofessional service company i have ever worked with. Avoid at all cost. Other options instead of being conned by this place.
Katy U.Have used Maplewood plumbing & sewers several times to update our laundry room and fix some serious plumbing issues with our 100 year old home. I have always felt safe and comfortable with all the service personnel that have come to our home, especially Will and Aaron. The staff I spoke to on the phone were kind and professional, especially when I was getting a little overwhelmed and probably a little rude because I was dealing with ""surprises"" with our plumbing and moving homes. Prior to our services, I always got quotes from other plumbing businesses and I thought that MPS provided the best service for the money. Will use again.
Maplewood Plumbing's excellent reviews held true for us, and we look forward to a long relationship in which we feel comfortable we can call Maplewood Plumbing ""our plumber"". Ashley took time to educate me about services provided, scheduling, and pricing. Robert lived up to his reviews. He was an expert, pleasant, and thorough. We were so impressed with his diligence in investigating our sudden jump in water bill (ave $70 jumped to $429!!!) that we signed on to make improvements in 3 bathrooms which we had avoided for years. Maplewood Plumbing's fees conform to market rates, but the difference is it does excellent work and makes us feel like we received kindness and great value. Thank you!
Steve P.They were super nice on the phone - they are just too booked. If you're looking for a speedy estimate, look elsewhere. I was given a two week+ turnaroun time for the estimate.
