I have used Magic Plumbing since 2008 when I took over the management of a mid size apartment building here in SF. The building is very old so I have needed their services often. Since I work in construction I am in contact with many different plumbing companies as well as tradesmen. Magic plumbing has been professional and reliable on all of their service calls. They have provided me with accurate estimates, they show up on time, and I can reach them 24/7.
I can relax a bit knowing that when ( not IF but WHEN) there is a problem I have the solution; call Magic Plumbing.

FYI to the other reviewers:
There is NO such thing as a simple plumbing problem!
If you think the estimate is too high, then don't hire them!

TOTAL SCAM PLUMBERS

we hired them to fix a simple U trap pipe, they replaced it and then the next time we used our garbage disposal, it was punctured.

and while they guy was here he kept asking to see our water heater, I bet they would have broken that too, just to make more business for themselves.

read the other reviews also, seems like they wrote many themselves b/c REAL customers like us have

BUT

Then charged us what would constitute literally about 250/hr. We are a nonprofit. We dont have the resources to be gouged for simple plumbing issues.

After complaining, we were refunded some of the money and treated with respect in that process. Still, it didnt leave a great impression and I will definitely try some other services before calling Magic Plumbing again.

paolo was super nice and professional on the phone.

adam installed my water heater over a year ago - he did a great job, explained everything to me, tried to save me some $ where we could. we thought there was an issue with the installation due to a real estate inspection so i called them to come back. adam and jeremy happily came back out to check it on it. turns out it was secure and installed properly, but they put in some extra screws for good measure and wrote up a work order as verification. no charge for all that great service.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Magic Plumbling. I was caught in quite the pickle...
I was preparing Thanksgiving dinner, when the main sewage line of my house became clogged from too much waste down the garbage disposal. I thought I was going to have to cancel dinner!
Than, FLASH! Like a superhero, Mike Curry arrived at the scene. Perfectly professional and on time. Mike diagnosed the issue within moments and got hard to work. In no time our issue was resolved, and our moods were elevated thanks to Mikes friendly demeaner and kind heart.
Mike has become somewhat of a legend in our home, and I wouldn't consider calling anyone else for our future plumbing issues.

From their personable dispatch staff to the field crew, have always come through for our company in a timely manner with regards to image and cleanliness. HIghly recommended for urgent, commercial sewage and plumbing emergencies. They perform major underground sewage backups with ease and in a timely manner.

We are located in San Francisco Hayes area and had a bad back-up in our office that affected our sinks and toilets. We called a number of different people to look at our problem, but Magic Plumbing stood out. The plumber was knowledgeable and had all the tools needed to clear the problem. With-in a couple of hours, he had fixed the problem, cleaned up nicely and was on his way. We were very satisfied with the quality of Magic Plumbing's service and will not hesitate to call them again.

Avoid them at all costs, unless you want to be left with a mess.

They promised to call me back for an appointment, but instead they showed up unannounced. The guy came to fix a clogged kitchen sink, but didn't have a bucket or a pan to contain the drained water, so I had to give him one! Didn't have any kind of towel, so I've also had to provide one. Despite that, they left behind a mess.

When I called their main office to ask for a discount given their unannounced show up, the guy said ""I don't understand what you're talking about"", and hanged up.

The guy who showed up unannounced ended up giving me $20 off the $180 bill--that's doesn't even replace the towel he ruined.

OK so what I have heard is that there is a new owner. In any case, I have had someone out several times to do work in my place -- all pretty good, though expensive. Then the last time, they sent out someone completely unprofessional. He was totally unstable and cursed the whole time. What was worse is that he brought a big machine in to try to snake my bathtub drain and although I offered to help him with it, he refused. When I went back into the bathroom, my tile floors were all scratched up and the paint chipped off the doorframe. I was able to repaint the door but cannot repair the tile without ripping it all out and having it redone. In the end, he couldn't snake the drain and left the bathroom a total mess. When I called to complain, they sent someone out who was embarrassed by the damage his associate caused, but they didn't offer to repair anything, nor did they give a break on the cost. It's too bad, but they don't seem to be able to keep good plumbers.

These guys are fantastic! They solved an ongoing, major plumbing problem that we have had for years. Because we are the low spot on our block, anytime there would be a heavy rainstorm the water would pool up in our driveway and sidewalk and then run into our garage. Both Paul the owner, and Phil his head guy, came out to look at our building and come up with a solution. They designed and installed a storm drain that sits in the sidewalk directly in front of the garage door. It works!
No more sandbags, no more flooding, no problems at all, even after all of the heavy rainstorms this past winter. Phil did a fantastic job, coming by everyday during the installation to make sure everything was done right. He was great to work with. These guys have also done small jobs for us over the years and they have always done a great job. They are professional, efficient, friendly and competitively priced. I would recommend them for any kind of plumbing job you need.
