This is how ""Aidan"" was born: our mascot, a workboot-sporting, bagpipe-carrying, kilted character seen on every MacLin vehicle.

The plumber they sent misdiagnosed our issue. He said the problem with our stopped up shower drain was because of broken pipes in the slab foundation. He based this on his difficulty with snaking the drain. The plumber did not run a camera down the pipe. He said it wasn't necessary for him to diagnose the issue. We got a second opinion. The second plumber was more persistent and was able to snake out a large amount of hair. He then ran a camera and found no further issues.
MacLin almost cost us thousands of dollars for a slab excavation repair that would have been unnecessary.

I was having a nasty issue with Drain Flies and Sewage Odors.

MacLin plumbing was assigned to me via American Home Shield.

They refused to address the problem and instead decided that I had a dead animal in the walls rather than actually scoping the drain line to see if there is an isue. They literally visually looked at my bathroom and decided there was no issue...ZERO DIAGNOSTICS WERE DONE.

It took them over a week to report their findings back to AHS. Their manager told me that "he used to work at the dump" so he was an expert on flies and that I didnt have a drain issue...great credibility there. His technician told me that a smoke-test would be the proper way to diagnose the issue - but the manager said "AHS won't cover that" and decided that the issue was closed. He reported back to AHS something completely different than what the tech told me at the house.

I have had to call AHS repeadtedly and sit on hold for +30 minutes each time. When I finally got through - they told me that MacLin had cancelled the job because "there is no problem"

An absolute utter waste of time dealing with this company. If you want to pull your hair out and have the issue continue to be unresolved while you spend hours on the phone with a customer service call center you should give them a call. Otherwise find a reputable plumber who will do the work properly and skip these clowns.

Had one of their plumbers come out twice to find a leak and he couldn't find it. Had to pay a service fee for another plumber to come out from a competitor and he found the leak within 2-3 minutes. Shocked at the mediocre level of troubleshooting from this company. I've had to follow up with them 4 times versus them calling me back from all of my voicemails.

Matt and his team are just great. His response to our two leaky faucets was lightning quick, both in terms of estimate and repair. In our medical work, having two functional exam room faucets is a daily necessity. Oh, and the price was very reasonable also. I really like that they have that family-owned feel as it made the entire experience personal from beginning to end. Would recommend this company without reservation. The hot water line under my kitchen sink was leaking. There was a shut off valve at the top and immediately under that same valve at the bottom. When Jr came out to fix it, I asked him to check both valves and he said he could not because it was under American Home shield and he "couldn't check anythI gotta. I don't get paid for checking things. I can fix this top valve". I said both valves we were wet and therefore both valves could be broken. He said "water only runs one way". I found this to be utterly offensive as I know how gravity works.
He never checked the second shut off valve.
Upon his departure, I called Macklin plumbing and spoke with James. His technician had already called him (he hadn't been gone for 5 minutes) and told him a different story-Jr never checked the second valve. I simply wanted to let the company know that I felt like the technician was condescending in his interactions. James however accused me of not telling the whole story. He then proceeded to tell me I wasn't the customer-American Home Sheild is. He says we were speaking on a recorded line, so hopefully his response will include the full transcript of our call. He said I was upset with his technician (of course I was upset, he refused to check both valves on a pipe that was less than 18 inches long). He then hung up on me.

They did good quality work; however, they also tried to find ways to decline your home warranty service and took that trip fee from you at the same time. Their office people are also very difficult to deal with. When the person followed-up the service with you and you tried to confirm if the service is correct, somehow he refused to confirm with you the service until you insisted. You would think it is a normal thing to confirm that "Technician A will be coming to fix your shower faucets this Monday" is a simple response but the office person was trying to avoid. The company is just very weird and shady and I would try to avoid

Mark serviced our home twice this week. He was on-time and professional. He answered all of our questions and worked so fast and efficiently to get our new water heater installed. Best of all, the quote that he provided to us was actually what we ended up paying when all was said and done. When does that happen with a contractor? Will GLADLY use Maclin Plumbing again. Came out to the job and never completed the items on the schedule. Was told they would have to come back another day with new parts and to complete the order. Never received a call back/re-schedule and still a few weeks later I am waiting for the job to be completed. The plumber even said that their doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the toilets, when they continue to stop up. His comment was maybe you should get new toilets, even though they were all replaced in the last 5 years.

Doesn't seem like a good company or one that can be trusted.

Just had Jerry come out to replace my water heater and they patiently waited 30 min for my carpenter guy to finish the attic door install! I was so worried they wouldn't have enough time but they were so determined to get us hot water back and was super friendly and efficient with the install. I would definitely recommend them and will for sure be using them for my next plumbing needs. Thank you for getting us hot showers again!
