Our garbage disposal quit working. Fortunately, our home owner's warranty covered the replacement. They sent out Maclin Plumbing who contacted us promptly and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Maclin showed up when they said they would and accomplished the replacement in about 15 minutes. Everyone we spoke with was pleasant and professional.

Help! My water heater leaking and we need hot water! Another plumber in Austin refers me to MacLin Plumbing. Its Monday and they are taking appointments for Wednesday. I suppose I can wait a few days for hot water. Wednesday...."hello I am here to give you an ESTIMATE on your water heater repair....oh no not fix it.... and you need to remove that door jamb". ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Now its just easier to do it myself and save $480 and avoid unnecessarily removing door jamb.
Disappointed.

MacLin Plumbing was who my service company assigned to fix my kitchen faucet. I was very nervous when I saw the online reviews. When MacLin called to set up a time to come to my house, the service rep was very professional and answered all my questions. When the plumber came to fix the kitchen faucet it turned out it had to be replaced. He called the warranty people, and long story short I got a brand new kitchen faucet. I'm really glad MacLin was sent. I don't know why these guys are on the wrong end of so many bad reviews. The service was fast and the plumber seemed really knowledgeable. I'm going to recommend them to everybody I know.

The guys are nice and seem competent but, holy cow, they need a lot of hand-holding. It doesn't matter if they are good if you can't get them out to your house. Apparently, you have to repeatedly confirm that you really really really are going to be there for their appointment. This, apparently takes 3-4 promptly answered phone calls. If they have to leave a message just once you are screwed. You do not deserve the courtesy of a second phone call. So, if, say, you rearrange your entire work day to accommodate them but miss their phone call, you will have to rearrange another work day when they bother to have their office set up another time to come out. How much confirmation does a company need? No other professional needs this many assurances. What is so hard about trying to call me twice AFTER I already confirmed I would be home waiting anxiously for them to arrive?

I wish I could give them a better review but I can't. They first came to my home for two repairs in May. One a broken kitchen faucet and the other a leaky tub faucet. They did show up during the appointed time and fixed both issues. Seemed knowledgeable and efficient. A month later my kitchen faucet broke again, same issue. I called them direct but NEVER got a return phone call. Called the home warranty service and they issued a service ticket. No one ever called or showed up and I found out they (MacLin Plumbing) had cancelled the ticket. Called it in again, this time they did
show up, pretended to put the faucet back in then proceeded to tell me it was stripped and couldn't be fixed......didn't offer to install a new one, just left. I had asked on the initial visit if it was possible the faucet was stripped or not repairable, they said it was fine, (obviously not). If they had taken the time to return the call to me direct , ask me what the problem was, I am sure they could have ascertained the faucet would need replaced. IN THAT CASE, I would have contracted them to purchase and install a new kitchen faucet for me. Instead they cancelled my service ticket, wasted my time and theirs by pretending to fix the problem and lost the opportunity to make money. I will not use them again nor recommend them to others.

Third time using MacLin Plumbing. They are the top referral from AHS (Home Warranty Company). I always breath a BIG sigh when the call is routed to MacLin.
Repairs have been the following: 1. No hot water - Shower control valve - fixed on spot with parts from truck (yeah!) 2. Tub diverter spout leaky and stuck (I had to order from Moen) when part arrived they returned and installed ... no double charge. 3. Leaky garbage disposal (big stinky mess) -- REPLACED. ALSO, while Jerry was here, I asked him if he could loosen the bar sink spout ... low flow due to gunk built up. He loosened, then removed, then cleaned, then replaced ... no charge. WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS!??!!!!
Again, this is my third 5-star experience with MacLin. They are busy, but never outside the appointment window. They also call when they are enroute. I can not thank them enough!

I saw MacLin's response -- turns out when I had another plumber come out to repair he found that the water valve was shut off -- MacLin couldn't even identify the water valve was shut off -- that was the problem -- so instead of MacLin coming out to check when I told them what was wrong - they were rude and refused to recheck their innacurate assessment of the problem -- they act like they know all the answers and for sure they don't - and they lied in their response

My kitchen faucet had come loose, and Jerry came out to take a look at it on short notice and fixed it quickly. He told me the faucet needed to be replaced, and when I got a new one to let him know. The next Monday, it started leaking so I called and Jerry & Matt had it replaced in less than an hour from when I placed the call and charged the amount they said they would charge the previous week.

I called my Home Warranty to come and fix a gas leak at my home. An appt. was made for the following afternoon. The next day, I received a courtesy call that they were ready for me. I've got to say, Jerry is the nicest tech I've met. He sealed the leak and because the gas company had locked my meter, a pressure test was done after the fix. All along the way Jerry was excellent in explaining to me what was going on and had the city inspector here at my home within minutes. ( I got lucky) I am very pleased with the experience and would recommend these guys. I will also let my Home Warranty know what a great job Maclin Plumbing did.

Very bad experience with this company when they were sent out to honor my home warranty plan. Jerry Maclin misdiagnosed a leak telling me I wasn't turning the taps off well enough! I asked him to use a moisture detector and/or to listen to the wall (where you could clearly hear the leak) but he refused and left my home in less than 10 minutes. I had to pay the home warranty plan $75 for this "service"
Turns out I did indeed have a leak in the wall that later caused damage thanks to Jerry's unwillingness to check it out properly. Because of his ineptitude I now have a much bigger mess.
I called Maclin's to get a refund for the service call and they told me there is nothing they can do because it is more than 90 days later. HOW CONVENIENT for them. They clearly don't care about providing good service.
The guys who did come out to help me from another company were great and told me that they often hear bad things about Maclin from people when they have to go in there afterwards and fix their messes. I would not recommend this company at all!!!!
