We hired Macco as they had the soonest available appointment. Their technician showed up well before the appointment time without warning, which meant he literally woke us up. Additionally, he did not wear a mask and made several political comments about masks and the environment. We were willing to forgive all of this and even be happy with the slightly higher hourly price than other professionals given the timeline; however, the technician claimed the system needed a new part. He ordered it, said it would come in within a few days and he would be back. It's been nearly a month and no action or update. I've contacted Macco via email several times and have had no response and tried calling but the line didn't go through.

TLDR: showed up at wrong time, didn't solve issue, charged more, unprofessional technician, and poor customer service.

I had MacCo come out today to adjust my on-demand tankless hot water system. Ryan the tech was excellent. It was clear he knew what he was talking about, and he had the problem solved in a few minutes. After working on the main unit, he checked the water temperatures in all the faucets (two bathrooms, two showers, kitchen sink) and made adjustments until they were right. I asked Ryan a lot of questions, and he answered them all confidently, politely, and demonstrated his knowledge of the system. This kind of hot water system is new to me and now I know exactly how it works thanks to Ryan.

I have been using MAACO for about 4 years for water heater maintenance, just because of convenience. Their service really fluctuates. Each year, a different service guy would come and do different things. One year, a service guy was very detailed and really inspected the water heater and checked water temperature. Others just did the minimum, which was flushing the water heater. Additionally, MAACO usually gives customers a 2-hour service window, which means that the service guy may show up at anytime during the 2-hour. However, their service guys never stick to that window. One time, a 2-hour service window became a 4-hour window.

Today I had our first Maintenance preformed on our Heating/A/C unit. I have reading other reviews but in my case I can't say enough about their service. The technician who came to our home was very thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything he was doing for us and mad all the necessary adjustments to our system. As for me and my wife we were more than satisfied. I highly recommended MacCo for all your heating and A/C needs. Thank you MacCo.

After posting my previous review about how dissatisfied I was with MacCo, the company CEO (Stephen) personally reached out to me about a month after my initial review was posted.
After speaking with him for about 20 minutes on the phone and explaining exactly what had happened, he agreed with most of what I had to say and assured me that this is not how they run their business.

It has now been 2 months since my conversation with him and during the entire time, he assigned one of his supervisors to my case and was personally involved (through email) in making sure everything was running smooth. As of last week, the issue with the A/C unit at my parents place was finally resolved and corrected. On top of that, the water heater system was also serviced as a complimentary service for the inconvenience.

I decided to update my review not because I had to but rather because I got the feeling that Stephen genuinely cared and wanted to do what was right. Unfortunately, when companies grow and become very successful, they tend to forget how they got there and they don't always reach out to the dissatisfied customers but thankfully Stephen did.

Lastly, I'd like to let everyone who is reading this and other reviews to know that just because you found one bad apple, it doesn't mean you should give up on the whole tree.
I am satisfied with their work and will continue to use their services in the future knowing that they have a responsible person guiding their team.

Please stay away from this unethical company. The manager Rick was not only rude but also lack of basic ethics. This morning, when he called to ask me for payment for a 3-hour job --replacing a transformer for the heating system in my rental property. I told him ""please send me the invoice and I will mail you a check."" He replied ""if I let everyone do that, I would go out of business."" When I asked him to explain what was done and please at least show me a job order and a photo of the replaced/bad parts and I would give you my credit card info. Then I left home and started driving to the site. While I was still driving and wasn't able to answer his call, he left me a voice message saying ""if you don't call me back I will ask the plumber to put back the old parts and leave you with no heat."" And within less than 30 minutes I parked my car and only found out that they already removed the parts and left my tenants in the cold. What kind of company would treat customers like this? This is absolutely unethical. Before they showed up this morning, we at least had some heat, but now the heating system does not even turn on. I don't know what they did and why it took them 3 hours the first time and only a few seconds the second time. First they wanted to overcharge you, and when that failed they just did more damage to your system and more inconvenience to people. What bad news!.......Soon after that I called another plumbing company, Winters Plumbing and Heating. They sent a technician over and inspected the heat pump, and concluded that the system was messed up and beyond repair.
