I hired Mac 5 as I was new to the area and needed some help with moving our water softener. They said I needed a new one and gave me a quote for what the technician called the best one on the market. The quote was over $1900 for the softener and over $600 for installation. They conveniently do not put the part numbers on the quote so there is no way of knowing what you are getting. I agreed and found out later that the softener was purchased from a local supply house for around $500 and it took them 2 hrs to install. The softener regeneration failed a few months later so I had it replaced by another company and Mac 5 refuses to warranty it. When I brought up the fact that the mark up on their product was nearly 4x the manager told me that was standard for them. Now I am stuck with a faulty, mediocre water softener that cost me over 2k to install. These guys are way too over priced for me.

Excellent service, Professional, very fast, high quality all the way around. I had my AC condensate line clogged and AC went out at 3am and leaked. I wasn't able to get the line flushed myself in the morning so I called Mac 5 services on a Saturday afternoon. Jackie answered and was great. She was clear, concise, and took my information. Within 2 minutes I got a call back and scheduled a service call. Ryan arrived at my house 30 minutes later. He was extremely friendly and professional. He explained everything up front. Did a nitro flush, and the lines were immediately cleared. He was very kind and taught me a lot while he was there. I will be going to MAC 5 for all of my future plumbing needs.

We called Mac 5 when we suspected a water leak. They were very prompt with their response. The person who came told us that he suspected several leaks and recommended a total repipe. With a """"discount"""" the total came to 7200.00. The technicians did a thorough job and we thought we were done. A week later we noticed that we had water leaking into the garage. We called them again. The serviceman quoted us 4200 to pull up the laundry room floor as he suspected that the leak was under the floor in the laundry room. They charged us 200.00 to run the camera down the drain. We decided to get a second opinion and low and behold there was no leak in the floor but just a bad hose coming from the washer. If we would have gone with Mac 5 we would have had our floor torn up and the problem would not even have been solved. It seems to me that they should have checked the simplest thing first instead of going with the most expensive option.This makes me wonder if the repiping was even necessary.

I own a rental property that had a leak under the foundation. I went with Mac 5 because they were able to do address the problem that same week. The repair was actually to re-run all plumbing through the attic. They said it was a 1.5 day job for 2-people, but they book two days just to play it safe. For most of the first day there was only one person. Both people worked day 2. I didn't hear from them until almost 9:30 pm. They called and said I had to drive over, inspect the work (at night), and pay them right then. First, they shouldn't have been in the house working that late and keeping my tenants up. Second, they should have asked if that time was ok. They didn't. Instead, they demanded I pay them. I asked if I could simply inspect and pay the next morning. The worker asked if he could just get the tenant to sign on my behalf, I emphatically said no! He said he wanted to call his boss to get his input, then would call me right back. Within 2 minutes, while I was still waiting for the call back, I got a text from my credit card company. They had charged me $4500 without permission. And the only reason they had my CC number was because I used it for the $100 initial inspection, with no intention of paying with a CC. I don't have a high limit and that charge exceeded it. It went through, but blocked my card all the following weekend. They promised the dry wall cuts would be minimal and implied it would be just around the faucets. Well, there were literally 20 holes all throughout the house, some of the holes were 5 feet wide. The drywall damage was extensive. They even cut into a textured ceiling for no apparent reason. They moved an outside spigot 30 feet away to a different location. In addition to the drywall mess, I had 5 issues that I wanted either addressed or explained. It took 4 days before they would return my call. They finally sent a person out to fix only one items, he didn't even seem aware of the other 4. So, if you want poor workmanship, someone to illegally charge your credit card, and not return your calls, then I highly recommend Mac 5.

Technicians were professional. electrician, for a 5 min job and charge me $150.00 is unacceptable. Just had total knee replacement. if not I would have done it myself. The plumber wanted to charge $900 for installing a heat recirculating pump and i already had the part. Not even a hour job. top is off charge me another $800 to replace me faucets. smh... I'm not poor but these prices are way to much for simple handy man job. No thanks, i will look elsewhere.

On a repipe Max 5 errors 1 - ruined a freshLy painted bedroom with a water leak they caused 2 - installed a shower faucet upside down 3 - installed a sink faucet which leaked after installation 4 - permit failed 5 - kitchen sink leaked after permit fix was done Our pipes burst on 7/31. A plumber from Max 5 came that night and we signed an agreement to have the whole house repiped. The workmen came the next day,Tuesday 8/1, although we were promised water Tuesday, we got cold water on Wednesday 8/2. Wednesday they destroyed a freshly painted bedroom by causing a water leak in the ceiling. On Thursday 8/3, they supposedly finished. Thursday they were called back to fix a sink faucet they installed that leaked. Max 5 didn't put in the permit untill Saturday 8/5 after I called the office asking about a permit. On Monday 8/7 of the following week they finally filed for the permit. Tuesday 8/8 they were called back because a shower faucet they installed was upside down. Thursday 8/10 they came back to fix the permit failures. On Saturday 8/12 they are scheduled to come back to fix a leak caused by the permit fix

Do not use this company. They sent an incompetent technician who started bitching immediately. He didn't do the job I hired them for, and overcharged for it. 3 flushes of the toilet later and it was like he was never there. I ended up having to pay someone else to actually do the job. When I spoke to their 'customer service' and showed her the invoice from the actual plumber, she shined me on with a """"we'll look into it"""". Everything about this using these people was just awful. Save yourself the money and pain, go anywhere else.

I called and schedule an appointment for service on my a/c on 09/09/2022 early in the morning and spoke with a pleasant lady who then gave me a window time of 12-5 and we talked about a $50.00 promotion from the internet and was told there was a $79.00 fee just to show up and that fee would be waived if I agree to go ahead and let them perform the service suggested all was good until at 4:45 when I called again to see if I was still on schedule for that day and was told again by the pleasant young lady that i was still on schedule and would receive a call 30 to 45 min prior to the technician leaving his last job nothing was ever mentioned about there being a after hour emergency service fee for after hours so I continue waiting and again called to see if we where still on schedule and again was told yes and nothing else. At about 7:49 pm I got a miss call alert on my phone so i called back and it just rang and rang until I got a voice message saying the person was on another call so I called the office again and was told the technician was in route so I continue to wait and finally I received a call from the technician saying he was on the way, so after sometime after he shows up I meet him outside explain the problem and tell him i believe it's the capacitor so he goes into informing me that there's a $129.00 service fee for after hours emergency and I asked why since I had a 12-5 window and they were late and I was quoted a $79.00 service charge and about the $50.00 coupon and the $79.00 fee would be waived if I agree to complete the service to fix the a/c. So after agreeing to complete the job and 10 minutes to replace the capacitor he beings writing up the bill on his tablet and remembers to apply the $50.00 discount and hands me a bill for $317.00 without a break down of the service performed just stating that the capacitor and technician work performed. Now I'm not a genius but I'm also not the stupidest person as well and know a capacitor doesn't over $100.00 bucks so anyways I pay the bill keep the old on and looked it up and found several from $7.11 up to the highest costing $28.00 and Amazon had it for $14.00 which if I would of known I would of ordered it myself and installed as I mentioned at the beginning that I believed it was the capacitor. So after talking with the young lady the next day and asking for a member of management to call and ask to give me a better understanding of the bill, so as of today 09/16/2022 no call or anything from them. Beware of this company and get a better understanding of their window times if I had known of the after hours emergency charge ahead of time or it had been explained during my conversations with the office or technician I would of reschedule for a regular time... Never again there's no trust in these companies...
