Got a nasty clog in our kitchen drain which we unsuccesfully tried to clear with a civilian grade drain snake. Called this company b/c he is located close to us in Hawaii Kai and b/c of he great reviews here. Called Matt around 6 pm on a Tue, he picks up and tells me he can't come out today (understandable) but he could meet me at 3pm tomorrow since he had a big job on the N. Shore in the morning. Well, I clear my schedule for the afternoon, grab my daughter from school at 2:30 and drive lightspeed home to meet this guy. 3 o'clock comes around, nothing. Should I call him? No I don't want to hassle him, he's probably running Hawaiian time. 3:30 comes around, no Matt, no phone call. I finally give him a call and he picks up: ""Oh yeah, hi, I've been meaning to call you. I'm still in the North Shore. I'm having a real hard time this job, it's killing me. Would you like to reschedule? (completely straight faced..not even an apology)"" Muther fu#@er. Are you kidding me? Are you running this company out of your moms garage? Do you know how much you screwed up my day and not even a phone call? I'm actually pretty reasonable and if I at least got a single courtesy phone call sometime before he realized he wouldn't make it, I wouldn't be writing this. Complete disrepect and lack of common customer service. I ended up calling Fast Rooter Plumbing (Mike) who came within the hour and fixed the problem in 40 minutes for $40 less than what Matt quoted me. I'm sure you do fantastic work when you decide to show up for a job, but if you're running late or you know you won't make a gig, a phone call goes a long way Matt. Figure it out.

Lesson learned: Papaya seeds do not belong in my kitchen sink with the garbage disposal. Ooops! Figured I'd experiment since my friend's garbage disposal seems OK with papaya seeds. Matt, the plumber, is available 24/7. He answered my telephone inquiry on a Saturday afternoon. He listened to me about my plumbing problem and quoted usual-work-hour cost (between 8 AM and 4 PM) and after-work cost (a premium) for fixing the problem. I decided to do the after-work cost since my weekday work schedule is not conducive to middle-of-the-day appointments. Matt was professional, personable/friendly, and efficient throughout the whole experience - from answering the phone and getting the job done. Good work!

My 7-year old son has a serious problem understanding the correct amount of toilet paper that needs to be used when wiping his okole. He loves to use huge wads of toilet paper and this inevitably causes clogs. One night while I was having the time of my life with a bunch of yelpers, this is the phone call I get from my boyfriend... +BOYFRIEND: You have to come home! The upstairs toilet is flooding and there's water everywhere! +ME: What?! (Drinking glass of wine) What happened?! (Eating bite of Wolfgang's steak) +BOYFRIEND: Aidan clogged the toilet and now there's two inches of water in the bathroom. It's leaking down into the kitchen! +ME: Awww dammit! (Drinking glass of wine) I'm coming home now! +YELPER JACOB N: What happened? +ME: Ugh, another crappy situation. Literally! I need another drink! (Downing the last of my wine) So home I went and the bathroom was indeed flooded. I called Matt to unclog our toilet and opted to have him come the next day to save some money. He told me he'd come between 2 or 3 pm depending on how long his other jobs were taking. The next day he gave me a call when he was 15 minutes out and I really appreciated the heads up. Matt arrived and brought his gear up the stairs to our bathroom. It didn't take him long to fix it and he only charged me $80, which was much better than the $200 I had paid the last time. Having him come during regular working hours was definitely worth it. Another great experience and hopefully my son will keep his toilet paper usage under control. I found Low Cost Drain Plumbing on Yelp and I am so glad I did. Matt was super nice and efficient. I needed my kitchen sink faucet and valve replaced. I called him and he was in the my area. He came by in less than 15 minutes to give me a free estimate. He came back later in the week. He was here for a little more than one hour and he brought the valve with him. He cleaned the sink when he finished and his quoted cost was right on. Great plumber, nice guy. He loves his job.

Sorry for the late review, but better late than never. :-) I was on my way to the mainland and had a leak at my hose bib outside my house. I left a message and he promptly called me back and came out to fix it when he said he was going to come. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and his prices were fair. He is going in my phone book....permanently.

I live in a condo right now, and had a water heater situation. I did some quick searching on the internet, and decided to give Low Cost Drain Plumbing a try as they were highly rated. I called the phone number and Matt (the owner) answered, did not have to leave a message and wait for a return call. This was on a Friday afternoon, was able to schedule an appointment for an estimate the following morning at no cost. On the basis of this site visit, I decided to have him come back the next day to fix the situation. Matt was able to purchase the required pipes and other items, came back on Sunday afternoon and completed repairs and testing within an hour. He was courteous and professional, and explained what he was doing in a manner so that I was able to understand. I highly recommend Matt and his company without reservation; I have more plumbing work that needs to be done and definitely plan to use this company again.

Leaking main water valve replaced same day as initial call. Called Matt in the morning and he said he could fit me in after his morning job. Because of logistical restraints, did quote over the phone using pictures sent by text. Made great recommendation to replace pressure reducer valve at same time since the digging would already be done. Priced as a ""package"" deal to help save me some money. Easy transaction with quick turn. Will continue to use Matt at Low Cost Drain Plumbing again!

Had a small plumbing job associated with a bathroom renovation involving the conversion of older dual hot/cold valves to single hot/cold valve. I called around to obtain some quotes and after speaking with several companies I was shocked at quotes I received. I looked around a little more and fortunately I found Matt via Yelp. I left a msg for him and he promptly called me back, gave me a very reasonable estimate, and then even offered to stop by prior to the job and look over some of the work I was doing on my own. When he showed up for the actual job he was kind, very professional and did a super job for an excellent price. In addition to the work we discussed he also offered to check the water pressure for the water line in the house (after I described a problem we were having with the shower pressure) and he discovered a problem with the pressure reducer. We'll be inviting Matt back again soon to take care of that work as well. In addition to all the great work he did on site, he also offered some great advice for the portion of the plumbing work I decided to do myself. He's an extremely caring and knowledgeable plumber and I won't hesitate to call him again and tell all my friends. Thanks Matt!!!!!

Oh, gads! There's water dripping under the kitchen sink. I think it's coming from the U-shaped doo hickey coming from the disposal whacthamajiggy. What to do, what to do? I called Matt at Low Cost Drain. He was speedy and friendly. Made an appointment and we was early. (Be still my heart.) The doo hickey was fixed in a matter of minutes (for just under $90) and in the process I found a new go-to person for future plumbing issues.
