Is this place still in business? It used to be famous for radiant heat installations, but now I just get an automated voice and no call back for a week. What's up?

Mr. Wonder was almost 2 hours late to my scheduled appointment. Unacceptable! What should have been a one man job became two. Lipp Hydronics was not upfront about the cost of repairs and how the hours are charged. I didn't find out until he was on site that there would be an extra $35/hour fee for his son / apprentice. They charge for travel time by the way. They left concrete debris on our field stone entry area. I'm going to look in to another company for our future plumbing repairs.

After meeting a lot more contractors I would say, Bill is not that bad! He does respond, have some clue of what he is doing and he is a nice guy.
Hope he gets experienced someone to continue the business.

Mr. Lipp and his team have been working on my parent's Eichler home radiant heating system for 8 years. After my father passed away we were having trouble coordinating the solar and radiant heating system and phoned Mr. Lipp for assistance. Hector came out and efficiently converted the heating system. He installed a new thermostat (as needed), programmed and explained the system to my mother. After a few days there was a loud noise when the system turned on and we phoned Mr. Lipp. He promptly came out and repaired the problem. I give the company four stars for efficiency and quality of work. One star removed due to coordination and difficulty scheduling first service appointment.

The bathroom floor heater was the ONLY thing that was not in perfectly working order. I set- up an appointment 12/23/14 and a worker named Ector came to try to fix the problem. When he left he destroyed my heater. The hot water was NOT working anymore (and it was functioning before he came). He did NOT fix anything but he destroyed my heater. I called your company again so that you can fix what Ector broke. And you sent a man named Mr. Wonderful and he said he could not do anything to fix the problem. When I called again, your company informed me that there was nothing you can do. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated. Today, January 12, 2015 I received an invoice in the amount of $890.20.
I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am quite disappointed.

Unreliable. They missed our first appointment and didn't call until the next day to reschedule. Then they missed that appointment too, with no phone call!

I called Lipp Hydronics to fix an electrical issue with the boiler. The team came in fixed the issue but they removed my old (but working!) thermostat. They replaced the thermostat which is definitely an old one (it has a lot of stains and looks worn out).
I was charged for a new thermostat, I made many calls to Teresa and spoke to her but there has been no follow up. They are insisting that a new one has been put in!!

Lipp hydronics was recommended to me by a friend who had glowing reviews about them but they fell short on this one.

Don't ever call these guys for service unless you are rolling in money!

I ended up paying $145 for what was promised to be a FREE service call.

I was promised a free service call because I had recommended the heater they installed in my house to a neighbor. The time came when I thought it would be good for them to come in and have a look at my heater. When I called up they confirmed that the service call would be free. There would have to schedule it at a time that was convenient for them. Then I did not hear from them for almost two months.

The call came on a Saturday morning. It was William Lipp, the owner himself, who would be over in a short time. He checked for leaks, adjusted the water pressure, dusted the heater and then bent the knees and scratched some dirt at the bottom of the heater and vacuumed it as well. I was happy with my free service call. This was what I had expected. Then he showed me the bill: $145. I asked for an explanation, but the only answer I got was ""I work my a** off on a Saturday"". After that I lost my interest in arguing about the broken promise.

I called the office for an explanation, but none was available. They 'promised' to call back....

Then I remembered that 20 or so years ago I had a similar experience with that company. I had asked for someone to come and clean the heater as I was told it needed that from time to time. The guy came and told me that because my heater was old he did not want to do it, as he could break some parts that would be difficult to find. He nevertheless charged the $75 fee. They could have mentioned this at the time of the call and saved the trip. But it became better. The technician also wanted to look at my thermostat. He thought, the batteries needed replacing with he did. I thought, it was nice of him that he felt guilty of charging the whole fee when he had not done anything, and he wanted to make up for it a little by replacing the batteries. Was I wrong! At few days later a bill came that charged an extra $5 for changing the batteries (a minute or less job) plus they asked a premium amount for the batteries.

My radiant heat was not coming on I've been told by several radiant heat plumbers our heating system needed to be replaced. A neighbor told me about Lipp Hydronics and they came out the same day. Bill took one look at our system and said it just needed a few adjustments and cleaning.

Bill is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and I highly recommend him.

My radiant heat was not coming on. I called and the owner called me back the next day on his cellphone. He walked me through the entire process of fixing it myself -- over 20 minutes. I've never had someone suggest I could do it myself and not have them come over and charge. This was great. They didn't charge me a dime, alhough I want to send in some money anyways.
