We have had a HVAC service contract with Lindstrom for many years and had been very pleased with their service. Their plumbing side of the business is where they failed, and failed miserably. We had a new water heater installed by them in late November 2018. As seasonal residents one would expect if something was installed less than 24 months ago you would not have an issue with it for many years. Yesterday when we went out to the garage we heard a hissing sound. The connection going into the house of the hot water heater had burst and hot water was spewing everywhere. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that one of the connections looked like it was an original from when the house was built and was extremely corroded whereas the other connection was brand new. Lindstrom refused to acknowledge that there was an issue although their repairman who came out said there obviously was a problem with the corroded connection.

Not only don't they not show up on time the estimates that they give are ridiculous. Price they quoted me was twice what I had the air condition repaired for. It was my first and last time I will ever call this company. I will be surprised if they stay in business. They must rely on people that don't know any better.

The positive. The technicians assigned to the job arrived in time, they used masks, and every time they enter the house, they used foot covers. Episode 0 - Background. AC stopped working and, at first, appeared to be a circuit breaker. For reasons unknown, the AC started working, and I padded myself in the back as the house cool down to our preferred setting. When the AC auto turned off, I heard water dripping and started the process to find the annoying sound source. As I walked past the unit, I realized it was coming from the AC and noticed a dripping pan saturated with water enough to engage the float and turn the AC off. A good thing. I removed the water from the pan and called for help the following day. Disclaimer - I did a Google search for """"cost to replace AC CAPACITOR near me"""" and was surprised that the cost ranges between $200 - $345 for parts and labor. Technically, Google's price range compared to my quoted price put my vendor close to the lower third of the spectrum. Episode I - AC repair I called a company listed in the unit with the expectation that they would be familiar and reliable AC repair providers. The first available technician was within 72 hours. I agreed, including the fact that I would be charged $45 minimum fit the visit. Episode II - AC repair time 1) Technician arrives on time 2) Starts initial check, informs me of the $45 charge plus additional parts/Labor 3) Initial analysis completed, the technician provides me an estimate for ~90 dollars, I approve in his tablet and work begins. 4). After about 30 minutes, the technician cleans up the work area (A+) and ask how I plan to pay the invoice, Used my credit card and signed the invoice for ~$145. I take responsibility for not questioning the ~50% Delta between the estimate and actual costs. Disclaimer, I was thrilled to have the AC working, leading Me to a poor lapse in judgment. Episode II - AC post-repair failure Less than 96 hours after I paid the invoice, the AC stopped working again. 1) Different symptoms but not working a few hours after repair. 2). Second call for an appointment. The first available technician was within 24 hours, and, once again, I agreed, including the fact that I could be charged $45 minimum for a visit. 3) Initial analysis completed, the technician provides me an estimate for $245. As fast as I said yes to the first visit, I replied, not interested as I could see additional follow-up costs n the horizon. 4). After about 30 minutes, the technician chests up the quirk area (A+) and ask how I plan to pay the invoice, Used my credit card and signed the invoice for. ~ $145. I take responsibility for not questioning the ~50% Delta between the estimate and actual costs. Disclaimer, I a thrilled to have the AC working leading to a poor lapse in judgment. 4) I do not believe in coincidences, nor do I have any proof 5). I Will report how my DIY repair works upon completion.

Lindstrom put in our AC unit and we use them for cyclical maintenance visits. Angel has serviced our unit the last few times and he is a thorough, professional technician. He doesn't rush through and short cut the visit. He explains what he finds and provides a current status of the unit's performance and potential issues in the future. The best in my 16 years in Florida!!

I had made an appointment 3 weeks ago for the AC maintenance check. Unfortunately, when clearing out the closet access to the unit in the attic, I found some surface mold on the closet wall and I informed the service person. The appointment was canceled and I immediately hired a mold abatement company and then a separate company to take air samples to make sure all mold spores were removed. I have the lab results clearing the entire house of any mold and asbestos - including the actual attic. So I made another appointment with Lindstrom - service person was suppose to show up between 8am to 9am. At 9:45am I called when this person never showed. I was informed that the call had been canceled. Lindstrom Air did not bother to tell me the appointment was canceled and I was left waiting until I actually called them. My first question, is why didn't Jennifer (who is a """"manager"""") - who I made the appointment with and had access to my history, didn't ask if the mold was removed and the home tested - she just made the appointment. Second, if anyone would of bothered to tell me they were canceling the appointment, I wouldn't be so upset. Instead they left me waiting for an hour and 45 minutes. I take mold seriously, especially in Florida and I would never put anybody's health in jeopardy. I did the right thing by hiring a company to professionally remove the mold and to be 100% safe, I hired another company to test the entire house for mold AND asbestos. The least Lindstrom Air could of done, is to inform me that they canceled the appointment. It is fine if they choose not to work with me. It's unprofessional to not inform me after the appointment was made and I was expecting a service person to show up.

I had to have 2 units installed in my house about a year ago. I got to of the best units they sold. Did according to their recommendation. Ever since the where installed the one unit does not cool the side of the house the same way. We never had a issue before. We had tech come multiple times and they keep saying it's fine. It is not fine! When one tech came to do a service he damaged a connector. We had water pouring out of lights in closet. There is a mildew smell now. But of course they don't smell. They don't see any problem with there guy damaging something and they will not address our issues of water damaged cloths. Do not use them. They do not stand behind there work!!!

I was referred to Lindstorm 4 1/2 years ago by my immediate neighbors and had them install a new Trane 17 seer 4 ton a/c unit, duct going to master bedroom, and Remi halo light. was disgusted to learn that along with a brand new Trane a/c system that was installed 4 1/2 years ago, that the new 9"""" duct work installed from the new unit across the house to the master bedroom was not hung at all and against code!! I was proactive and purchased from Lindstrom biannual maintenance agreements as well as purchasing new Remi halo bulbs every 2 years! I even used them to install our new kitchen faucet. I had always that that they were prompt and professional. I recently had 2 servicemen come out because of 2 returns leaking and the new plentum sweating around the Remi halo and pooling water. I was told that I now need all new ductwork because of age, tearing, or not being hung. How were they unaware of the ductwork being an issue and old when they were in the attic 4 1/2 years ago!? They conveniently didn't mention that the new ductwork that Lindstorm installed 4 1/2 year ago wasn't hung and is being pinched and broken from laying on the trusses.

Lindstrom was very quick to answer and set up a same day appointment and that's about the only good experience I had with them. I had an AC issue where the compressor was no longer working on a 10-year Trane system, so I had a good feeling it was some type of start/run capacitor that was faulty. The technician arrived and quickly determined that it was not a good sign that no hot air was being expelled from the outside condensing unit. He hooked up his diagnostic equipment and determined that indeed one of the capacitors was bad as he temporarily hooked up a spare device and the system began to cool. He proceeded to explain that the cost to replace the capacitors would exceed $1k and that he recommended that I replace the unit because a blown capacitor is a sign of an aging system. He also stated that he had to order the parts directly from Trane, which would take about 2-3 days so I would have to make do with no AC until then. In my mind I'm thinking, (1) Why couldn't he use a temporary part to hold me over until the Trane parts came in or (2) find a suitable aftermarket replacement. He pushed to consider replacing the system, so I paid him for the visit and promptly contacted another repair company through Home Advisor. 2-hours later the technician arrived and determined the same problem as the Lindstrom tech and replaced the capacitor for less than $200. I'm truly disappointed in the Lindstrom tech and believe he could have done more to fix the unit instead of, in my opinion holding me over a barrel, leaving me no option to replace the system. I will now identify the capacitors needed for my system and obtain spares for less than $30 for emergencies. Moral of the story is to always get a second option if your gut is telling you something isn't right.
