Broken water heater. Gave them a call and they made an appointment to come take a look and do a repair or replace. Plumber showed up on time. Very grumpy. Said we needed to drain the water heater so he can replace it. He then ASKED US if we had a garden hose to drain the water heater. He said the one we had was too small and that it would take 5 hours to drain the tank. I asked him ""what about the one in your truck?"" He said he didn't have one...really...you're a plumber and one of your most frequent jobs is replacing water heaters...and you don't have a garden hose. He the started to get a little more snippy with me. Fortunately the unit was still under warranty. I'm definitely happy about that...then he tries to tell me how warrantees work and that it would cost $1,100 to replace the water heater that's under warranty. That was it. Asked him to leave.

We will NEVER use them again.

Call Anacapa plumbing. They showed up in 30 min, drained the water heater with THEIR HOSE AND PUMP! Hauled the old one away and came back 20 min later with a new unit. Installed it. Only charged us for 90 minutes of labor.

Lewis Plumbing was 100% professional and has superior service from start to finish. Phone support was immediate and with a real person taking calls. Jim on site, arrived on time, was very nice, respectful and knowledgeable, came with mask, gloves and Lysol due to concerns for covid-19 and did a terrific job removing and installing a new toilet in a short period of time. Even the billing was as expected and reasonable with an email to follow up as soon as Jim left our home. We are very pleased with Lewis Plumbing, will use them again and highly recommend them to anyone considering their help. 5 star!

Stuck at home with a plumbing issue no fun - these guys were great! Got me in quickly and I really liked that they sent a text when my plumber was on the way with his photo and some personal information about him. Jim was very professional and friendly, he solved my issues and was very careful about social distancing and wore gloves etc during a time that you don't want just anyone coming into your home. Highly recommend!

We had Lewis Plumbing out this week for a leaking toilet valve. It was in a very awkward space, but they got it fixed quickly, and then traced the problem back to a broken pressure regulator. Pressure in the house was way too high. Finding that problem saved us a major leak later. Now it is fixed and we don't have to worry. The repair was fast and cost less than I was guessing. We will always call them. They do excellent work.

Had Lewis plumbing out to look at a leaky faucet and toilet. Very nice staff, however they claimed that both could not be fixed with new parts, but needed to be replaced entirely (which would have cost another $500 + labor). Had our handy man come take a look - and viola! Both were fixed with replacement parts within an hour.

Main takeaway- get a second opinion.

This is not a trustworthy business. Lied about price of the job and plumbers seemed to take an awfully long time to do the work compared with others we have used. Was quoted $120 per hour min charge to come out but applied to work if we hired them. I agreed as they said someone could be out the next day. It was the holidays and everyone else was super busy. Needed a shower drain connected and the heater fixed in our ADU. Two plumbers showed up - one was an assistant. The first plumber told us we would need a new heater! After discussion they decided they needed to simply replace a wire a rodent chewed through. It seemed a simple job but plumbers came without parts and were gone an hour getting them. Job took 4 hours (3+1 hr getting parts). Bill showed everything broken down but labor was now per plumber and since they sent 2, they charged $120 for the first and $60 for the assistant. I called the front office to complain and they changed their story. Had they told me $180 in the beginning, I would have never hired them. I tried disputing this with the owner, Martin. Owner would not honor price. Poor customer service. Not trustworthy. Won't hire again. 2 stars for competent work and nice plumbers.

Lewis Plumbing is absolutely fantastic! Called in the morning, they sent Mario right away. He knows his stuff and got the job done in no time. The whole house was backed up when he arrived, he proceeded meticulously, explained what he was doing and got every cleared. Thank you for the great work!

Maybe our particular plumber was having a personal bad day, but for an hour and a half he couldn't find the right tools in his truck for the job (replacing one shower stem), kept going outside to make personal phone calls, said he was going to a plumbing wholesaler for a new stem but didn't know what kind to get so he never went or called the wholesaler, etc etc. He finally suggested he knock a hole in the wall in order to get the old stem out. Nothing got done and he wouldn't acknowledge any problem with that. i imagine he might have put in four or five hours if we'd let him.

Great Job by Lewis Plumbing

We had a water main burst at our house in the middle of the night. Huge disaster since it was under the driveway. After shutting off the water, I called Lewis Plumbing the next day. They had a crew out super fast and started work almost immediately. They got us back up and running quickly and worked with us to help us save some money on the driveway repair. I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the final bill was. Super happy I called them first.

I had high hopes for a good experience here, after work done in the past, but the response to my repeated (and polite) calls as we had no hot water from a broken hot water heater was truly abysmal. After my first call in the early AM, I was told that ""all the plumbers are doing jobs and we'll get back,"" as I tried to schedule the replacement of my water heater. As the morning passed, no calls back, and so I called again, and was told again, ""We can't schedule a visit because all of the plumbers are out on jobs."" As noon approached, I called a THIRD time, just asking if a tentative time could be arranged, since I was spending so many hours waiting for something to be scheduled. I was told again, ""All of the plumbers are out on jobs and we don't know when they will be ready to come to your home."" As we moved into the afternoon, without any call-backs, I called a FOURTH time, and this time was told, ""We're a bit short-handed today..."" resulting in my telling them to cancel the request for service. The worst of it all was that nobody seemed to care that we had no hot water, that we needed a visit scheduled, and that there seemed to be no need to call back.
Terrible service, terrible front office dialogue, this company will forever be avoided for any future plumbing needs.
When I called another plumber I know, Arturo, HE answered the telephone, he scheduled a visit within a half-hour, and he had the new water heater installed in three hours...all at a very fair and reasonable price.
