Had a service call and after that I phoned in with a question about the work done. The person answering the phone said, I'll come and check it out. I asked, do I have to pay. They replied no. Then they came out, claimed that there was no problem and charged me. I don't question their trade skills but this was TOTALLY unacceptable and I'd suggest working with someone else.

Called Leo Plumbing last Wednesday morning in a state of panic. Was referred by my workplace who uses them regularly, so I knew they were legitimate. Anyways, my mom's house had a continuous leak from the basement bathroom. Think it had been running for awhile, but it was getting worse. It was not category 5 flooding, but pretty serious, my bucket underneath the sink runeth over and needed to be dumped every 8 hours or so . Leo was very nice over the phone and said that someone would be contacting me and coming by within a couple of hours. After a couple of hours when no one contacted me, I called him again. He was surprised and said that he would call his guys and see what the status was. After five minutes, he called me and said they would be there to see me within a 1/2 hour. They arrived within the 30 minutes, and it was like a godsend. Two guys, Bernardo and this other young guy (sorry, didn't get his name), were very professional; they looked at the leak and immediately went to work. BTW, my basement is not the most clean or tidy place. They did not freak with the massive amount of junk and worked around it efficiently and cleaned up any messes they made. They discovered the problem was just a faulty valve. They fixed it within 15 minutes. I was so happy. I also did not have to pay right away, received the bill in the mail a couple of days later. $120/hour labor plus parts, a minimum of 1 hour for any repair. I do not know what the normal rate is for plumbing work, so maybe that is about right. I may have gotten it cheaper if I looked around, but it was definitely worth it for my peace of mind and knowing they were reliable.

I live in a condominium . In this last year , I have had two serious leaks for various reasons . Our building engineer recommended Gotelli Plumbing . They were wonderful . Dave ,Tom ,Bernardo and all the others could not have been more professional . As the leaks kept coming , they were in my house on a daily basis . Their honesty and ability to pinpoint the problems ,
made the experience so much easier . Hopefully ,my year of the leaks is behind me . I would recommend Gotelli Plumbing anytime.

Our new house had no handle for the shower and appeared to need a new shower valve. I called all the plumbers with good ratings from Yelp, and they all told me that for insurance reasons they wouldn't work on condos with more than 5 units. Gotelli was recommended by the condo manager, and they were great.

Tom arrived within an hour of when I called. He put up with the lousy SoMA parking options around my condo. When he came to look at the problem, he pulled out the cartridge (the part between the valve and the handle) and found that it had been assembled incorrectly by the previous owner. He reassembled it correctly and we only had to replace a small missing part, and he was able to find the exact model as the original.

When he came back with the replacement part, the front desk of the building gave him a hard time but he was just as nice and helpful as before. He's the most efficient plumber I've met and on top of that he's an all-round nice guy. Go Gotelli!

My toilet stopped flushing....major problem. In two days, I realized that the hubs and I could never live in a place with one bathroom. Thank goodness for Tom from Gotelli plumbing. Tom fixed the trouble in no time and brought back our marital bliss!

Hello fellow Yelpers. This will be my FIRST review, I'm pretty stoked! I've been reading the reviews for years but never took the time to post one. If my experience turns out well, hellooo new hobby.

Let's get started. This was a commercial job. Tom, the person who did the job, did a good job on the repairing the leaky urinal, no more leaks! He knew what he was doing and seemed very experienced. He also seemed like a nice guy.

Now to the juicy part of the review. First off, the guy who answers the phone is professional. He's brief and to the point. So I scheduled a plumber out and the job was done.

When I got the invoice, I called and the same guy answered. I mentioned that the rate seemed high so he tells me that other companies charge even more. Then he goes on to tell me that he's been in the business for 38 years and has a large customer base. I can't figure out what he's trying to tell me a) to completely and utterly trust him or b) he has a large one-time customer base. Either way, show a little compassion to your customers! No compassion? Fine. Let's see from my fellow Yelpers if he meant a) or b).

Oh yeah, he also asked if he told me the rate during my initial call to which I said no. So he says, well that's the rate. (Silence) Well played, sir.

Edit:
So, I got some feedback from a fellow Yelper and the rate I was charged was reasonable but still on the high side. If I can get the same job done for considerably less, I would. But hey, that's just me. I upgraded the rating from 3 to 4 stars because the work was very good, while the price was reasonable but on the higher end.

Had multiple leaks and in issues in 2 bathrooms. Leo Gotelli responded to the first call, came within a week, and fixed everything that same day.

Considering all the issues that I had previously in those bathrooms (including another plumber who told me that one of my faucets couldn't be fixed without a part that no longer existed), I am thrilled.

I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I unfortunately must post a pretty negative review of this business. I have placed at least 10 phone calls to this company about problems in my condo, and each time they promise to show up ""the next day"" or shortly thereafter. When my toilet needed a flapper replaced, it took them 3 trips before they got it fixed - and each time I had to put multiple calls in to them to beg them to come out. They have a deal with my condo association, so I have used them. However, I am now at wits end, and I need to call another plumber.

you have got to be kidding me. these guys put us off for a MONTH on the front end of our job. then, when we told them that they had installed a shower valve upside down, it took them another MONTH to get out to resolve the problem. this was time that the homeowner could not use their home. then, after cutting through the stucco to get access to the valve to reinstall it, they put DUCT TAPE, DUCT TAPE over the hole in the exterior wall. during a time when it was raining like crazy, in a multi-unit building. it has now been another 3 weeks, and they have not come back to fix the stucco. it's like pulling teeth to get them to do anything. it's no wonder that they lost their better business bureau accreditation last october. ridiculous.

As the score indicates, I'm a big fan of Leo Gotelli plumbing. His son, David, and coworker, Ryan, installed radiant heat in my house. They did a great job and were super friendly too.

Leo came to my house the day after I called him and gave me an estimate. He also gave me a recommendation for a contractor to do asbestos removal (to remove the old heating duct works) that saved me $$ from an estimate of another contractor.

My job was scheduled to begin about 3 weeks after the estimate. Coordinating between contractors was simple. The overall installment took three days. I also saved money by insulating myself. David carefully explained to me what needed to be done. It took me an additional day and half (with the help of some friends) to insulate the piping in the floor.

I appreciate Leo's straight forward approach and all of David and Ryan's hard work.
