Don't believe their same day service. They cancelled three times Over three days, the last without any calls. We said never mind.
I was charged $233 for them to attempt to light the pilot in my hot water heater (which is a button and didn't light or stay lit). They quoted me $2,300 for a new hot water heater which is extremely expensive. I understand its a pandemic but charging 80% more than other plumbers and charging $233 for an attempted pilot light is shameful. I gave 1 star because the tech was super nice, safe and came the same day. Judging from other reviews this seems to be the trend and for that if I could I would give 0 stars.
Charged $350 to cut out my dry wall and THEN alerted me they could not fix the actual problem. Total rip off. Didn't diagnose the problem properly before actually cutting out my ceiling. Now I'm out $350 and still have to fix the issue I called about. Another service to blacklist.
So we had a stopped kitchen drain and a friend recommended Len. What a mistake. Dude arrives with a mask under his nose and asks if he can take it off (no and my wife gives him an n95 mask that won't fog his glasses). $400 later drain is clear but a few hours later we notice a leak. Ok the pipes are old and stuff happens but the guy simply wanted to get out without having to face an obvious leak. New dude arrives and for $500, hacks out the section and splices in some plastic pipe - class act. It was only when we called someone else because yet another leak was discovered (not related to Len) that the pipe had an uphill section. Drains should not have uphill sections. Handyman quotes $200 to remove the entire galvanized drain pipe (including the $500 section), fix the hot water leak replace the trap etc. And he came with a surgical mask and kept in on correctly. Don't patronize these people. They are not competent and will rip you off.
Update: Well Len responded - see below and then never made any actual contact. This gives the illusion that they will actually do something, which they won't. Their business model is to hire semi-competents, charge 4 times what a job is worth and then be happy to take any bad reviews. Well handyman dude just finished up now replacing the entire drain kitchen system and a leaky section of pipe. Involved turning off the water at the meter because our shutoff valve failed. $230 which was the original estimate plus $30 for parts. By Len, don't bother callilng.
if you need to repair the sewer pipe line under the ground, dig out the dirt. i will not recommend Len Plumber. they excavated my drive way edge more than necessary by a mistake and rush to leave without a good cleaning up. They also charged my credit card (the final payment) without my permission. that is kind of scary.
Kaia J.Someone from Len the Plumber reached out to me to try and remedy the situation. I appreciate that they care enough to do that, and they offered a refund of the diagnostic fee. They listened to my concerns and promised to make a real effort to make some adjustments. Because of their efforts, I would consider trying them again, and hope they stick to their word. Will update again when I do!
Jennifer W.I sent Len a direct message via Yelp as requested on 9/15. No response as of 9/28. Reducing from 2 stars to one star. Public displays of ""customer service"" that are not followed up privately reinforce concerns that this company is dishonest and engages in price gouging.
DO NOT USE. Unbelievably unresponsive and unprofessional. I had a leak allegedly from a toilet upstairs that caused a patch in the ceiling to fall through. $500 later for a WAX SEAL and new valve, (about $20 tops to buy from hardware store) the plumber left and later that evening there was moisture near the site of the ""repair"" and a massive leak in the bathroom below the site of the repair. I called back to schedule for someone to come back out and was promised next day between 12-4. At 4:15 I get a call to say no one can come, reschedule for the next day for service between 8am-12pm. At 8am, I get a call saying no one is available that day either, get rescheduled AGAIN for Monday ""first call"" and still have yet to hear from them or get any kind of valuable information. Now my leak has caused even more damage to my bathroom for waiting on this terrible plumbing service. Completely unreliable and overpriced.
Jeffrey S.Should report that customer service for Len the Plumber acted on my complaint here on yelp and I got about a 30 percent refund which changed my opinion since price was my biggest complaint. I have to comment their customer service. And they do take time to look at Yelp.
Worst company ever. The first technician that came out I told him exactly what I wanted to do and he told me that that was not necessary and sold me on a bunch of extra stuff that probably was not needed. I dug the trench for the main line to be replaced and four days later I still do not have water and nothing has been done. Antonio and Shawn were the technicians and after four days I have been left with a mess in my bathroom, a hole in the ground in my closet, garbage in my driveway, and they stole my shovel. Attached are pictures of what they were able to accomplish in four days and $9400 that I'm still waiting to be reimbursed
