This is my third experience with D Lanzo Plumbing & Sewer Contractors, LLC, Hackensack, NJ, via my HomeServe warranty. They are prompt, conscientious, efficient, and honest. John S, one of the service providers, goes above and beyond and was at my home last night until after 10 pm As my sister is seriously ill, he stayed until the problem was resolved and followed up with me today. The owner, Doug Lanzo, is also involved in making sure our problem is remedied once and for all. I will use them for all my
plumbing and sewer needs moving forward and highly recommend them for anyone's plumbing and sewer needs.
It seems like there is some sort of scam going on with HomeServe and Lanzo. I have been paying into HomeServe for 15 years and they just upped the premium to include indoor. Most insurance companies send an adjuster and tell you you can use anyone you choose to do the work. In this case its only Lanzo. What cemented it is that while I was on my driveway talking to the guy that came out to do the evaluation, my neighbor ran down my street to tell me of her absolutely nightmarish experience with them and here sewage back up. She said they basically lef the job incomplete and had to hir another plumber.
My guess is he always comes in lower than their 5k max or very close to and does half ass work or makes things worse.
Only in America. Die scam artists.
Cancelling HomeServe immediately

Wasted all day waiting comes in late, does not do anything and states HomeServe will not cover
Tim from Lanzo plumbing was horrible. He was sent by an insurance company (HomeServe) to evaluate the problem and didn't bother to look at a video which delineated the problem quite clearly. As a result of his incompetence, my claim has been denied and I am embroiled in a controversy with the insurance company.
we booked an appointment with Lanzo and they didn't show up, didn't call and didn't apologize when we called them to find out why they didn't make the appointment.
Water service line pipe burst on Friday. City came and turned water off to house. Called Lanzo. Its now Monday and still waiting for them to come to find leak. Then will have to wait for them to start repairs. Only reason I can't call anyone else is because they are utilized by the Insurance company. I have to call them to follow up, and the person I spoke to was rude and non committal. If it wasn't so expensive to fix, I would go to another plumbing service. Horrible. Not sure how they are in business.
We had an external leak and Lanzo was sent to us by Homeserve. At first I was impressed by how professional their workers were but that was when all the positive note ended. Waited 3 weeks, called every other day for them to get a schedule done and During this time, my basement ended up backing up sewage water. They were not transparent on when they will do the job and when My husband and I would call they will reply by saying they will call back, which they never did. homeserve told us the job was approved but they still have not told us when they will do it. To make matters worse the person that picks up their phone, a lady name Karen is a rude and a very unprofessional person. In summary, we ended up with another company that did the job same day! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
