Koko drains came out to my house today to hydrojet my area drains as they had pooling of water. Koko listened to the homeowner 's concerns.
Koko was friendly and communicated in detail what he was going to do. He communicated thoroughly the problems he encountered and what he planned to do to fix them. He was focused and efficient with time. He also cleaned up mess . I'm thankful to God for this experienced plumber.

The two workers from Koko Drains could not have beee nicer, and they went right ahead and began to rooter out our outside rain drain -- but they never actually solved the root problem. It's an old-style clay pipe for taking rainwater under the lawn and down the hillside, and it was not draining, so I thought it might be clogged with roots. It was the small catch basin the pipe drained into that was clogged with roots.

In the pipe, they used a drain cleaning cable but, oddly, after they were done, they said that this method only manages to open a small hole in roots and does not remove all the roots. To remove all the roots you'd either need to dig up the pipes or use ""hydro-jetting"" -- high pressure water. They weren't equipped to do this -- so why did they come out to clean out roots then? So, it looks like there may still be roots in the pipe.

Second issue: The catch basin is like a 12"" square ""chimney"" in the ground, that the underground drain pipe drains into. Out the other side of the catch basin, a second pipe takes the water farther down the hillside. On top of the catch basin is a heavy cast iron grating and inside you could see a mass of roots which were part of the clogging problem. They said they would remove these roots -- but they didn't.

Using a screwdriver (which, of course, didn't do much), one guy scraped away at the roots, but made little headway and nearly all the roots were not removed. After they'd left I went out and removed the grating, and it was clear that they'd left nearly all the roots untouched. So I began digging and cutting out the roots myself and was able to go down at least 18"" farther-- much lower than they had done. They were here to make the underground rainwater pipes flow better, but they failed to do this important part of the job.

They rootered out a second underground drain pipe but said that was quick and easy because it had no roots in it. I suggested they also clean out our main sewer line since they were here, but they said it would be better to hydrojet that pipe for which they didn't have the right equipment -- which would mean another visit. So that was not done. So they were expecting a simple quick rootering job -- but not heavy roots and not hyrdro-jetting. This seems like poor planning on their part.

This cost nearly $300, a lot of money for a simple rootering job of one pipe which apparently had few roots in it. The real problem appears to have been the root-filled catch basin they didn't clean out. That's a lot of money for a simple job that really didn't solve the problem.

Nice guys, and they did do some work. They just didn't fix the problem. So basically I am not all that impressed.

Whenever we need our drains cleared, we call Koko. Forget the others that advertise on the radio. Those others have failed more times than I can count, and they always referred us to Koko in the end. And that's why we call Koko first now! Always a success story, great service and wonderful people!

Koko Drains provided a competitive bid and they installed a sump pump in my basement quickly, neatly and efficiently. Koko, Josh, Stephano and Frank are all extremely nice people and a real pleasure to deal with. They answered all my questions , and did a top-notch job. Koko Drains is a small family owned and run operation and it shows. They provide excellent customer service and really strive to make their customers happy. I will never even consider using another plumber in the future. I am completely satisfied with Koko Drains.

The two worker bees, Dave and Josh were go getters and got to work right away and located the pinhole leak early on. They went to the supply store to get matching copper pipe and two fittings and we were back in business. Great company who keeps you informed every step of the way. Thanks Carol.

Roots clogged up our drain line. There was a complete blockage under the courtyard in an area where it would've been impossible to dig up the pipes. There were other roots in the pipes in an area only accessible via a tiny crawlspace where drain water had leaked. Total nightmare. Stefano diagnosed the issue and cleared the blockage initially. Gave me time to think about it. Then came back with David and Koko a few weeks later to do the long term fix. They were all kind, respectful, and trustworthy. Stefano is the man! I would recommend Koko Drains to anyone.
