I've been a customer of Klebs Mechanical for over twenty years. From the very first day, they installed my boiler and have provided ongoing service. Over the years, I have handled some minor repairs myself.

Recently, my boiler went out, and I reached out to Klebs for help. They have changed their business practices significantly, and not for the better.

Once the repair technician assessed the situation, he shared some unwelcome news. The total repair cost was estimated at $1,800 if I chose to fix everything.

While reviewing the estimate, I noticed a charge of over $500 to replace a power head on a zone valve. I was astonished because I have replaced those myself, and the part costs only $75 at Central Plumbing.

I felt they were trying to overcharge me significantly. I have bought and replaced those parts for just $75.

When I inquired about the cost of the $1,200 part in the estimate, the technician refused to disclose it. He mentioned that Klebs does not disclose parts and labor breakdowns to customers.

I was again shocked; how can a reputable business withhold such information? As a customer, shouldn't I have the right to know what I'm being charged for?

I called the office to ask about the cost of the part I was supposed to buy. I thought it was fair to know the price of what I was being charged.

The representative said she would check with someone and get back to me, but they don't provide parts breakdowns. They never called me back.

The technician was excellent; I had no complaints about him as he was just fulfilling his duties.

I will never call Klebs Mechanical again for any service. They have shifted from being a trustworthy family-run business to a rather dubious company.

Save yourself some money and explore other options; don't use these guys.

I was truly pleased with the service from Klebs Mechanical! The team were to my home in no time and started right away. The plumber diagnosed the situation, provided a clear explanation, and resolved it. Next, he proceeded to swap out my furnace filters. I will definitely call them again!

I called Klebs Mechanical for an inspection of my furnace and cleaning for the sale of my home. After paying $437 for the service and waiting, I would never recommend this company to anyone else.

The worker didn't perform the repairs that were needed whatsoever. He mentioned that there appeared to be a significant amount of build-up from lack of maintenance. Interesting... We called about six months back and had a representative arrive to change the igniter wire. The technician cleaned it while he was there because we were being charged for an hour of service and he thought we should get our money's worth.

It seems the quality of service varies based on the technician, but I don't recommend taking the chance.

In my view it's better to visit retailers such as Home Depot. They charged me $25 as a fuel charge plus $74 as a service charge to check the hot water heater in my home. You might want to try finding one for much less from those retailers!

I are not really certain that many of the staff employed here know what they are doing. About four years back, they installed our hot water heater. During the installation, they damaged our fence. Six months later, they had to return and completely redo the job, as it was winter and we could not our living room above 50 degrees.

Following this, we had them to set up our water heater again. We always thought the temperature seemed very hot because it was new. But, NOPE. The installation was a year and a half ago. We asked them to return and resolve the issue, but they said we were out of warranty.

We let them know the installation was incorrect (the temperature control was ineffective), and they quoted us prices to repair it. We responded, "See you in court."
