Needed a hot water tap and filter installed in my kitchen. Called Kevin Shaw bc google reviews were good (hadn't seen the less complimentary reviews on yelp) and they were going to charge me 89 dollars for visit and estimate and set up an appt and took day off to wait. They called me at the last minute to say they couldnt make it bc their two guys were on an emergency call. I asked if they could come tommorow and they told me they dont work on weekends. I asked her to get me an appt please for the next week and she would get back to me.

Never heard back from them so I went someplace else. I get the emergency but took time out and wanted another appt but they didnt even call back when THEY had to change.

Needed to have a toilet replaced. Called to have a technician sent. Was told they would arrive between 9am and 11am. Technician never showed up. When called they said can be there in an hour. Technician never called to say was running late or anything. Told them to forget it and that I Decided to go with Mike diamond instead. Frustrating as needed to take time off work to be home. Complete waste of time.

They don't deal with renters. Only landlords and homeowners. How elitist! Two minutes later, I booked with another reputable company who deals with everybody and who will be here before I finish this review.

We were completely gauged by our friendly neighborhood plumbing company today. They replaced a garbage grinder (we supplied new unit). It took 2 guys 20-30 min max - $450!!!
Called the office to give them an opportunity to make it right but quickly realized this is common practice for them. The guys had the nerve to ask my daughter what my husband does for work. Sure looks like they charge by what car you drive and if you live in a nice neighborhood. Monrovia neighbors please watch out and read ALL the reviews!

I have a water heater that is only about 5 years old and suddenly stopped working. My late husband was the one to take care of these things so I needed help figuring out what to do. After calling another plumber (referred to me by the water heater manufacturer) and being quoted what I thought was a lot of money for repairs I called Kevin shaw plumbing. The whole process was simple and I was well aware as to who would be showing up at my home and when they would arrive. When he arrived he was very open about the cost of repairs and that I would save significant money going through the manufacturer referred company. I will definitely be calling kevin shaw plumbing for my next plumbing emergency!

Stay away from this company. Listen to the other reviewers, the writing is on the wall. This company tried to rip me off.
I had a 10 year old water heater that stopped working. Unfortunately, I found their sticker on my water heater so I called them without checking reviews. They charged me $90 to come give a quote. Their quote was $1700 to repair and, of course, they only had one replacement part left in inventory. Their quote to replace the water heater was $3300 for one version and $5000 for another version. I'm not comparing specifics but I was shocked at the price. This was my first time dealing with a water heater so I was not well informed. Luckily I did not commit and called a few other servicers and all gave me quotes between $1200-1500 to replace.
It's companies like this that cause all the mistrust between homeowners and repair companies. I rarely write yelp reviews but I want to try to save others from this business. Stay away, they have tons of negative reviews for a reason. Take your business elsewhere.

Both of our kitchen sinks were plugged up REALLY BAD!!!
Jose Flores came out and told me the options and what a guy! He definitely knows what he is doing. He worked and worked on the drains, and finely got the drain unplugged. What a nice young man. I have used Kevin Shaw Plumbing a few times, and the technicians were great. Kevin Shaw plumbing is the only plumbing service for us. And I want to thank Jose Flores personally for coming out and fixing the problem. Thank you so much Jose!

Was referred to Kevin Shaw by a questionable source but I scheduled an appt anyway on Tuesday for Thursday between 10am - 12pm. I asked for an estimate but he didn't provide one over the phone nor a price range, which is to be expected in most cases.

I didn't hear anything on Wednesday and on Thursday, I missed a call at 9:22am due to being on a business call. I called back an hour later to be advised since he couldn't confirm we were still on for our appt, he went to a different appt. I'm confused as to why he wouldn't of confirmed Wednesday whether or not we were still on for Thursday. He advised it would take 30min to get to his new appt and the job would be 30min. I advised him to call me afterwards so I can see if I'd still like for him to come by.

He called at 1:22pm (which I knew the job he mentioned could definitely take longer than his anticipated 30min) but by that time, I already had another company come out on the same day I called, and they were halfway done with the work.

Kevin apologized and advised he called initially to make sure we were still on before making the long trip. I advised I was unaware he stayed so far away and would've called someone locally if he was worried about my not being home but I can understand his point of view.

I called out Kevin Shaw plumbing expecting for them to fix my problem with a toilet which they did fix but not very well but they did charge me $408 goddamn dollars for less then 30 minutes of work And when we called them to ask why our bill was so high they give us a little bit of an attitude and said they would call us back which they never did so now we are even more pissed off with them so now I am on here writing a review on how they ripped off a 75-year-old woman by charging her $408 for
less then 30 min of work for three fucking screws and a ring for a toilet
