Not happy with Ken Mays Plumbing. I told them when I called about my water heater that I was really hoping they could find a fix because I couldn't afford a new water heater right now. The owner said he would go ahead and send a new water heater on the truck, just in case. When the guy gets to my house, he looks at the gas line but doesn't really inspect the water heater - just said that it was old and that's probably why it wasn't working. When I found out the cost to replace it, I said I needed to check with my husband first because that was alot of money. The guy calls the owner who gets on the phone with me and says ""you didn't say you wanted an estimate. I sent a service truck so you have to pay me $114 since I sent my guy out there."" I told him that I didn't feel I should have to pay him $114 since he didn't actually do anything and I can't spend $1000 on a new water heater without talking to my husband. He tells me I still have to pay and that maybe his guy could flush out the tank and see if that helps. So me and the guy go back in there and while he's flushing out the tank, I saw a knob that was set at ""pilot"" - I switched it to ""On"" and suddenly the tank fires on. Apparently, the pilot light was lit but the burner wasn't on. I fixed the problem! I don't know anything about water heaters, and I fixed it. I was still charged $114 ...but what I'm most upset about it , is that they were determined to sell me $1000 water heater even though I told them I would rather try to get my old one fixed. They made no effort to fix my existing water heater because it was ""old."" I don't like the feeling that they were being dishonest- I'm a nice person and very honest and it felt like they were trying to take advantage. I will never be calling them again.

Called them at 915am. Van arrived at 1030, assessed the leaking hot water heater, replaced it and was gone by 1pm.

We called Ken Mays, and Van was over here in minutes, even though it was late in the evening. He helped us out swiftly and professionally, and didn't even wake up our kids sleeping upstairs! Van is the man!
Since that night, Ken Mays Plumbing is our go to for plumbing issues, even though a competing plumber lives right down the street. We have asked for Van each time, because of how great he treated us, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of their staff. Over the phone and in person, they are professional, kind, helpful, and trustworthy.

I had a great experience with Ken Mays Plumbing! I religiously read Yelp reviews and there was an overwhelming amount of recommendations. I have a rental property up in the Napa area and I am out of the area. They did all the work without me having to do a thing. They found the problem and worked with my regarding cost. All of their workers were very friendly and helpful. They really helped me be calm during a stressful situation.

After I installed my new water heater, I found it had a manufacturing defect which was causing the water heater to such down for no apparent reason. The distributor dispatched Ken Mayes Plumbing to investigate as a possible warranty repair.

Ryan from Ken Mayes Plumbing promptly and thoroughly investigated the concern, determined the cause of failure and replaced the bad part that was actually allowing some gas to escape. His attention to detail in troubleshooting the problem was meticulous.

My advice, when dealing with plumbing and mechanical issues, especially those that involve flamable gas, don't mess around, call the professionals at Ken Maywes Plumbing, they are good folks as well.
