I started my career in the plumbing and heating industry in 1985. Ryan came out quickly as promised and replaced our dead thermostat during the hot spell a few weeks ago. In spite of the clear training Ryan did with us during the installation process, and because we are creatures of habit, once Ryan left, we had a hard time figuring out how to use all the bells and whistles with the new thermostat. Ryan returned (with a smile!) and patiently re-trained us on how to use all the new features so we could make the most of setting times/days/temperatures. We so appreciate the Kelly team as they always deliver excellent service and lasting products--that's why our one and only call for help for new/replacement products is always to Kelly! They are dependable, and always deliver high quality products and services. We so appreciate them for all they do when we need their help!
So I waited a year to post this because I wanted to make sure the huge issue was resolved, which it was although it took many months and at least four visits from their service tech Ryan, and multiple calls, emails, and escalation to Trane. I will share my experience. I had received multiple bids on new HVAC (AC and gas furnace) and then came across Jim Kelly who also bid on a Trane Heat pump plus a backup furnace. There was a rebate on the heat pump making it comparable in cost. He was the only person to tell me about the heat pump option, and I am so glad he did because it was the way to go. Overall, Kelly Plumbing was not inexpensive but not the most expensive. They were fair.
This is a top notch system, fully modulating heat pump, variable speed blower and furnace, two zones, and a central Daikin air purifying filter setup that had to be custom adapted to this system. They also did some major duct work revisions. It took five full days. I cannot give enough praise to the crew that installed it: Mario who was lead, Fernando, Diego, and Eric. I also met Ryan at that time as well. I have a lot of experience with different plumbing and HVAC crews over the years over multiple houses and systems. These guys honestly are as good as it gets. Totally professional, on time, neat, high quality work, did not cut any corners. They were just great.
I was truly happy.....Until the yellow error triangle appeared that was the bane of my existence for many months. Now Kelly Plumbing & Heating had already been paid in full, but not once did I ever feel abandoned despite a long process of resolution. Not to bore you, but the error indicator had something to do with faulty outdoor temperature readings at the Heat Pump temperature probe that caused switching back and forth between using the local reading or the temperature from the internet which is more representative of the area. It would be crucial to get an accurate reading outside my house because that would be used to direct the heat pump to heat the house vs using the backup furnace I had installed (you can set a temperature threshold for the crossover). So in order to use the heat pump it was imperative that this be working.
Over several visits Ryan changed the temperature probe, then tried running a direct wire from the relay board to the Heat pump, then tried putting in a new thermostat. Finally it turned out to be a bad relay board, which when replaced actually solved the problem. Ryan and Kelly Plumbing were fully committed to solving this. Trane had been willing to replace the entire heat pump if needed, which would have been crazy because it was a brand new unit. At one point during this whole process Jim Kelly asked me to contact Trane because they were not getting paid anything to make all these follow up service calls, so I agreed to do that and open a case. At no point did Kelly ever shirk their responsibility to provide ongoing service to get this issue resolved.
You know, my life experience which is exemplified here, is that if you deal with the right people and you don't cut corners then things work out. My experience was anticlimactic because I should have been feeling great about the expensive, new HVAC upgrade but instead I was just irked by this brand new install that kept flashing error messages for many months until ultimately they figured out what was wrong and fixed it. At that point it was just sigh of relief not to deal with the annoyance any more, as opposed to actual pleasure focusing on just enjoying the system because it took so long to get resolvEd. I feel that another plumbing company likely would not have been able to solve it or would have given up sooner. Thank you Jim and Ryan for hanging in there in getting us to the finish line.
I would recommend this company because they sell great equipment and they believe in it. Because they are professional from start to finish. Because they stand by their product and their work.
I can't say too many good things about my experience with Jim Kelly and his team. Jim patiently explained the choices available to us for upgrading our HVAC system and was very responsive when I came back with follow up questions. His bid was through and comprehensive. The work to replace the system, including the duct work, took a week and was led by Mario. The work team were terrific, went above and beyond (even adding a entry door to the attic through the garage!) and were never intrusive. I recommend them 110 percent.
Ron M highly recommends Kelly Plumbing and Heating. Representative Ryan performed HVAC system annual maintenance efficiently, and with clear & courteous communication before, during and after. He even noted that air filter still had remaining life and didn't need to be replaced. The advance scheduling process was clear, bullseye cost estimate provided, and early arrival was coordinated.
I talked with 8 HVAC companies to install two new furnaces and AC compressors, before finally hiring Kelly. When Jim Kelly came to give me an estimate, he listened to what I thought I wanted and made suggestions. There was no ""overselling"" unlike a few of the other companies I talked with.
Mario and his crew were efficient, stayed on schedule, and were a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Kelly Plumbing and Heating.
Larry W.We had Kelly Plumbing and Heating come out to replace our AC and furnace with new Trane equipment. They did a great job!! Replacing all this may not be a big deal for some but is a really costly project for us. We ended up getting several bids and we are really glad we had Kelly do this job.
They did a fantastic job installing the new equipment. Their whole team, both onsite here (2 guys), and the folks at the office were great. They were all professional and helpful. They were on time both days, professional, cleaned up afterwards, and completed all the work listed on the contract. The new AC has been working spectacularly during this latest stretch of hot days!! At some point when our old water heater goes out, we'll be sure to call them again.
My A/C stopped working today in 108 degree heat. I called at 3pm. Anna said that she had no service calls until next week. When I told her my age, very senior, she said that she would try and call me back.
Ryan came at 5pm; diagnosed the problem in 3 minutes as a cooked capacitor.
He had one in his truck and replaced it.
As a courtesy he also replaced the filters with ones which I had on hand.
They saved me from an almost certain heat stroke.
I wish that there were more than 5 stars. Anna and Ryan are as nice and expert as it is possible to be.
From now on, only Kelly Plumbing & Heating will fix my HCAV system.
Their prices are totally fair and reasonable.

Someone called back the next morning and a repair tech come out within a reasonable time frame. It was a pretty quick diagnosis and fix. And a fair price.
