I began my plumbing career as an apprentice in Culver City, California in 1972. In 1977, I started my own plumbing venture in Marina Del Rey, California, mainly working on new construction. In 1978, I closed that business and moved to Palm Springs, California. I then joined Barrett Plumbing, which was one of the most reputable plumbing companies in the valley at that time. I continued there until 1980, when I made the decision to start my own business again. This time, I partnered with Chuck Barrett, the grandson of Barrett Plumbing's owner. This is how we decided on the name KC's 23 1/2 Hour Plumbing. I took over Chuck's share in 1980, and KC's 23 1/2 Hour Plumbing has continued to serve the Valley.

For more than 30 years, we have been dedicated to our clients. My passion has always been in service and repair, not new construction. I take pleasure in connecting with my clients, making them feel like family.

Oh my gosh did I ever get ripped off. During a brief heatwave in Cathedral City, my brand-new tenants called me and said the a/c was not working. I was out of town and desperate to help them so I called the first company that came up with an online search. The technician arrived the next afternoon and promptly called me to tell me that I should buy a new unit. He quoted me between $13,000 to $14,000! The house is only 1100 sq ft. I told him that was way too much and just to fix it and get it running and cold again.
He put in 6 lbs of R410A Freon (he said he did but I have no way of proving it) and charged me $221 lb. Total cost $1326.
I was told I could apply this cost to a purchase of a new unit at $14000. After the guy finished and left I checked with two other local companies that would have done the same work for 1/3 of the cost. Additionally, the other companies quoted between $8500 to 9000 for the same replacement unit, not $14,000!
I was definitely taken advantage of. The bottom line is to take some time to do a little research before selecting the first company you see online. And don't hire a plumbing company to work on your a/c!

I found KCs through Angie's. Lucky me. Within minutes from submitting my inquiry to Angie's, I received a call from Amber at KCs to schedule my service call - within the hour! Service tech Dana was terrific - very professional and informative, and gave us complete confidence in his inspection and assessment of the problem (a new and worrisome gas odor when we lit our gas fireplace). it was a pleasure doing business with KCs. We will not hesitate to use them again and have already recommended them to several neighbors.

I called KC's at 9:06am this morning (Friday) to see if someone could come to my home and install a gas line for my gas fireplace.
I'm having relatives over this weekend and wanted to have the fireplace available.
I told them I have the line plus the H burner, I just need it installed.
I realized it was last minute but they gave me a window of 11am to 1 pm for a plumber to come out.
Awesome.
At 2 pm I called them as no one had come.
I was told they had a glitch in the system so my ""order"" was lost.
Right.
I called 3 other plumbing companies to see if they could do the work and they understandably are all booked until Monday.
So now I can't use my fireplace this weekend.
The thing is I have a list of plumbing jobs that I need done and I will not be calling KC's.
So they lost out on future business with me.

Company came to clear the line of a blockage in our system. They had said it was cleared and a day later the issue was the same after one shower. Called the company to address the issue which was obviously not handled and Casey the ""owner"" of said company was absolutely rude due to his staff not wanting to show up on super bowl weekend. He arrived to our resident with a condescending attitude, came in to our home basically talking to us like we were an incontinence and stated that the service was not under warranty because there were roots found in the line. When they finished the job the previous day they said their was a blockage and did not mention roots so I asked where they documented this and he showed us a picture of brown toilet paper and whips. None of the items in the picture resembled roots, but than again I am not a professional plumber. We called other local companies all staying the work should have been covered under warranty due to it being only a day after the original work was completed. We will never use this company again and I would suggest people beware of this businesses ethics and policies. Casey please do yourself a favor and take some costumer service classes because yours was appalling and you should never enter someones home with such negativity.

Jesse repaired our upstairs toilet leak expertly along with the cracked pipe below in lower bathroom. And we were impressed with his most helpful and friendly attitude. We will definitely keep calling KC Plumbing :)

We've used KC's a few times. Ask for Freddie Cabrillo, master plumber. Freddie has come out on short notice to clear drain lines under the house, quote and install a gas tankless water heater and replace a leaking disposal.
The tankless water heater was a large project that four other plumbers quoted. The project required draining and disconnecting a solar heater on the roof, running new water lines, running a new gas feed and exhaust. All his work was done neatly and on time.

We had an emergency at which Dana and his partner came out the next day to assess and hopefully repair.
We needed a new hot water heater. They installed the heater within a couple hours, a tankless! Dana was incredibly informative about the installation of the tankless and our water softener that had just quit working in the past week so he was able to install a new softener as well as a pressure regulator that in 2000 was not a requirement. With Dana's knowledge I feel like we saved ourself from a major plumbing issue or worse flooding. They were courteous, clean, informative and very respectful of our home and space. I would highly recommend both 231/2 hour plumbing and Dana to do all my plumbing needs.....

With my guest bathroom toilet backed up I looked on the Internet in KC 23 1/2 hour plumbing had an ad. I called them up and a professional young lady took my address and name and said I'll have a technician at my house between 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Exactly 2:50 a young man by the name of Jessie said he was on his way and he arrived shortly after. He evaluated my situation and it wasn't a blockage in the pipes by pit paper it was roots going through my pipe. He had first quoted me $350 to unplug the stoppage. After he researched it he remove the route and discounted it $100. Caseys 23 1/2 hour plumbing are professional honest and timely. I would recommend them highly. Good job Jessie.

Extremely Terrible Experience

If i was able to rate no stars i would!

This company hires literally anybody i called in for an emergency A/C repair on a Thursday night at around 7pm for my 93 year old mother, and a guy that went by the name of ""TJ"" came over and he arrived within two hours which was not bad but he was definitely in no condition to be driving none the less working an on call job. Man was on another level intoxicated, being a complete weirdo through out the whole time he was there. He then proceeded to go up to the A/C unit which was on the roof as he was making his way up the ladder he falls off and breaks his hand, dripping blood everywhere!(he even asked if i could take pictures of his hand) what for i have no clue but i did so then, I told him that i was going to call 911 but he got so worried that he just left.

He did not fix anything by the way, he said and i quote ""Fuck this bullshit i got other problems I need to handle right now""
