KC Home Services came through quickly when our combo furnace/hot water heater completely stopped working during what felt like the coldest night of the year (it was 27 degrees in Cotati). Kevin was exceptionally responsive, and even replied within 5 minutes via yelp once I sent an inquiry for an estimate! Brooks who we found to be exceptionally knowledgeable came by the very next day in a mask and gave a comprehensive report out of the diagnosis - breaking the news in the nicest way possible that the unit had to be completely replaced and installed given its condition. Within one day of us booking their installation service, Don and Daniel came by with a temporary hot water heater for us to be able to take hot showers in the interim until they had availability. Throughout the entire process, Virginia was checking in with us, sometimes even after hours, to make sure we were happy with the service provided - which we are! I would recommend them to everyone!

After about 10 minutes of asking for an estimate using the help Yelp app KC homes called me to set up a time for an appointment. They informed me it would take a little longer than usual but due to Virginia's professional and kind words I had no problem waiting. A gentleman by the name of Brooks showed up to my house professional in 10 minutes early. Brooks explained to me what he was going to do and took pictures. Brooks was able to fix my furnace within 20 minutes of inspecting as well as share some kind words with me on being a good homeowner and keeping my unit clean and swapping out the filters. I will be using this company again going forward for all of my heating and cooling needs.

Just as the first autumn cold snap hit, THAT'S when the heating failed to respond. When we set the thermostat to call for heat, we could hear the furnace start warming up. A couple of minutes later the blower came on ... and then it all shut down. We tried several times, but no luck.

Unfortunately, we had very little experience with heating/air conditioning firms, but after talking with a knowledgeable friend, we got a strong recommendation -- call Brooks Robertson at KC Home Services.

Brooks came by the next morning, opened the furnace up ... and found a 20+ year old system riddled with corrosion and looking in every way like it was on its last legs. His recommendation: If we wanted reliable heating (and cooling) for years to come, retire the old system and install a new one. Fixing ""the old jalopy,"" while a lot cheaper in the short run, wouldn't get us much additional mileage.

Brooks gave us estimates on two new systems, one more energy-efficient but also more expensive than the other. Together, we went over our utility bills and it became obvious that the more efficient system would take many years to pay for itself in lower bills. We chose the less expensive, but less efficient option.

After Brooks left, a couple of other guys showed up that same afternoon to remove the old furnace. It was messy work, but when they were done, they left the place spic and span. Unfortunately, that was on a Friday, and although the outside temperatures warmed up a little, we spent the weekend in sweaters and extra socks. But bright and early on Monday, Morgan Kang and an apprentice, Brandon, showed up with a new furnace. They worked all day, and that evening we had a nice warm house. The next day Morgan and Brandon came back and finished the job, hooking up the air conditioning's outside equipment, a noticeably larger, more robust condenser unit than the old one.

Brooks, Morgan and their team clearly knew what they were doing. Solid professionals, and not just in a technical sense. They explained everything clearly, patiently and politely. Throughout the process, we also heard several times from Virginia in the office. She'd check -- even into the early evening -- to make sure everything was going well, and she unfailingly sent us emails and texts to let us know who'd be coming and when we could expect them. It was another mark of professionalism and customer care that's not just lip service. We're not expecting any more trouble, but next time we might need some help, KC Home Services is the company we'll surely call.

Finn Hauger is the plumber from KC who came out to my place in Forestville today to solve some plumbing issues. He ultimately fixed a variety of issues and did an excellent job on all. What I really appreciate about Finn was that he was very knowledgeable, genuine and kind, and he took extra time to truly explain everything to me in detail so that I understood the issues, my options, what needed to be done today, and what things might wait a little longer until a later date due to my tight budget constraints. I highly recommend that you ask for Finn by name and you will be as pleased as I was with his professionalism, expertise, problem solving skills, and overall genuineness and kindness.

KC Home Services fixed a difficult failed spa bath faucet. Called 4:10 on a Friday afternoon; other places had already gone for the week. KC initially could not help over weekend because of existing scheduling but Virginia worked to help us find someone who could - incredible service.

Was able to stop leak temporarily so rescheduled with KC for Monday morning. Skilled, polite and prompt plumber and apprentice arrived as scheduled and fixed problem.
