Our water heater had a small leak and Joe was able to quickly come out and take a look to verify that the water heater needed replacing. He checked on the warranty (unfortunately had passed) and quickly replaced it the following morning. Price was reasonable in comparison to another quote I got over the phone. Will keep Joe and Kassman Plumbing in mind for any future plumbing issues that come up.

She really did it.

She thought she was doing me a favor by flushing what remained of my roast chicken with broccolini down the toilet, because my 1920s Silverlake pad does not have a garbage disposal.

My toilet, however, thought otherwise.

CUT TO: Me trying every imaginable home remedy, pouring vinegar and baking soda and dish soap into the bowl...and the water level getting progressively higher, the water more and more murky.

Time for a professional. But my normal dude had gotten out of the business. Mild panic ensued. I decided to lean on the network.

I reached out to Dmitriy of Priority Appliance Repair, and he referred me to Kassman, where I reached Margo.

Margo was clear, communicative (via text and voice), obviously very concerned with providing excellent service, and easily dealt with some unexpected obstacles in scheduling.

She estimated that her plumber would arrive between 1 and 3. Harry got to my place around 1:45.

Harry was just the kind of person you need in a crisis like this: calm, focused, and very very very good at what he does.

Watching him auger the toilet felt like some sort of delicate, precise medical procedure. There is an art to knowing how to auger a toilet, and Harry is a master.

'Did she put the whole chicken down there?,' he asked, jokingly.

Twenty-two seconds later, the dark pools had disappeared, and I saw the cleanest white porcelain imaginable. Harry gave the rest of the toilet a once-over. I wrote a check for $150, and he was on his way to his next call.

It is now just past 2pm, and all is well. Quickest repair ever.

Kassman Plumbing is absolutely as good as it gets. They are your call. Tell them I sent you.

Had water condensation in a cabinet above my sink. Kassman came out next morning and diagnosed the problem. Turned out I needed a new faucet and they advised replacing some of the piping as well. Back in a few days. Everything works perfect. Price came in on low side of original estimate. Harry at Kassman is very easy to work with. Fast, efficient service. Clear estimate. Trustworthy. Wore masks the whole time. Highly recommended.

Joe and his staff are top notch!! The first time I called Joe I was in a panic because a hose on my water heater had busted and was spraying water all over my laundry room at 8:00 at night. Joe was the 4th plumber I called. The others were either rude, didn't respond from answering service or said they couldn't come out til the next day or later without addressing my problem. Joe patiently explained what I could do to temporarily fix the problem so he wouldn't have to come out immediately and charge off-hours fees. He arrived before noon the next day and was able to not only fix the problem but thoroughly explain what happened, inspect the unit and installation and make recommendations for what needed to be done to make the unit safer/up to code. He even found a place where the installation was so shoddy that it was leaking carbon monoxide!! He fixed that immediately, thank god. The second time I had a problem my sink would not drain whatsoever. Joe was not available that time but the plumber he sent was equally knowledgable, professional and thorough. He explained that we have old galvanized pipes that have gotten corroded and recommended that they eventually be replaced. I am so glad I found a reliable and affordable plumbing company that I can call especially since our plumbing is so crappy. Call Joe! He'll make sure that the job gets done right.

Joe was the fourth plumber I called. My main drain was clogged & the first two plumbers were unable to clear it. They did not charge me anything. Manny from Magic Rooter recommended I call his friend Robert. That turned out to be a nightmare. I called Joseph for a second opinion. He was prompt & tried for several days to clear the line with no success. He was very detailed about what he was doing & pointed out several violations Robert's crew were guilty of.

The problem wasn't in my drain. It was in the connection to the city sewer. He called Anthony who has the license to do the necessary work, which means getting a permit from the city.

I am 80 years old and had been living with this for a couple of weeks. I was so tired of using a minimal amount of water each day. Joseph was so frustrated with his inability to help me. He really cared. I cannot thank him enough for his kindness to me.

The remedy is very expensive, but had to be done. It's been fixed & we're just waiting for the city to issue the permit so everything can be cleaned up. I can do laundry again! Thank you a million times, Joe. You're the best.
