We went to Home depot to buy a water heater and wanted to use the installation service through the store. We were told it is through Kamaaina Plumbing and that they would contact us. Food for thought their ""same day installation does not apply on Saturday"" which is okay as most places do not work on the weekend, but just be aware. But we weren't called when the weekday came around until I had to call them. The lady who answers the phone is extremely rude. She sounded like she hates her job and didnt want to answer any of my questions, as a first time water heater buyer and having one that is currently leaking I honestly dont know what to do or what to expect. No prior estimates but was told it could be from 600-1000 dollars for the install, no same day, or even the next day was available. I thought maybe I came off rude at first, so I left my number to be called back if the plumbers could come by today and told my husband to give them a call a couple of hours later. She was just as rude and short with him to the point that he didn't want to deal with their company anymore and we called a local plumber to come install the water heater instead. Going to call Home Depot Corporate and file a complaint as well, and let them know if Kamaaina is a representation of them they should act accordingly.

I made a last minute call to Kamaaina Plumbing at 12pm. requesting if they could install my toilet that my neighbor had taken off and wasn't able to install the new 1, the wonderful receptionist took my information down and called me a few minutes later. She informed me that they would be able to send someone over at 3pm. the same day. Lucky me because it was so difficult to get a same day appointment. At 3pm. a young man named Kalani arrives. Kalani was so pleasant and very respectful, He installed 2 toilets for us and did a FANTASTIC job. We thanked Kalani for doing this job as a last minute notice and he said its his pleasure to help customers, he said that when someone calls he knows they really need to get it done. He is so wonderful we will use Kamaaina Plumbing should we need other work done and we will request for KALANI. Thank you Kamaaina Plumbing for having awesome staffing. Give them a call. Stay as FAR AWAY from this company as possible. I had made an appointment in the morning for a same-day emergency hot water heater replacement, via the Home Depot website, which promises same day install if you call before noon. The appointment was set for 12-2pm, so far so good. Then at 12pm I got a call that my appointment was being cancelled, due to another customer having an emergency. Well, that's fine, but I said can we just make the appointment for later, even in the evening, anytime?? The answer was no. Clearly they were not willing to pay their plumber overtime, in order to honor the promise of same-day service. They just left me in the lurch. Don't use this company.

Because of Kamaaina Plumbing, our 2 1/2 month frustrating ordeal to get a new toilet (3 toilets ordered from a major national chain were damaged in transit while coming from the mainland and 1 toilet from another big national chain was cracked when its container was opened) ended on a happy note. When the first of the 5 toilet orders was placed, we contacted Kamaaina Plumbing. Naoia was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient as she explained the cost for delivering the toilet to our apartment, installation, and removal of the old toilet. Then, as our ordeal began, she was sympathetic and reassuring whenever we contacted her about another delay. When final delivery/installation arrangements had to be made, Naoia and her colleague Kawena made sure that everything would go smoothly. Then, the plumbing team of Dan (the lead) and his assistant Earl was superb. They were skilled in their work, efficient, careful, neat, and very friendly. We were extremely satisfied with their final work product. Naoia, Kawena, Dan, and Earl are true professionals and a credit to the company. We won't hesitate to use the services of Kamaaina Plumbing again.

I am very disappointed in this company. I called them, spoke to someone (I am so sorry that I forgot her name because she was very helpful) and explained what I wanted, what my budget was, etc. I was very honest and she took all my information. She told me that she will speak with her estimator and get back to me when he would be able to come to my home, take measurements, speak with me and provide a quote. She called me back, very apologetic, stating that the estimator said that my budget would not be enough to cover what I wanted so he won't be coming out to meet me. That was it! He didn't even try to say that they would work with me. How disappointing. I just got off the phone with another company who is at least willing to come out, take the measurements and provide me a quote. If this company is willing to do this, it makes me wonder: 1) does it make this company more desperate than Kamaaina Plumbing?; or 2) does it make this company willing to work with someone to try to achieve their dream? I believe #2 is the answer.

I chased this company down for 2 weeks to get a repair done, sent them video of the problem, went on the website twice to schedule an appointment (with no response), left voice mail and then finally scheduled an appointment after I called them a second time and they answered. Then they ""no showed"" on that appointment. When I called to find out what happened receptionist said she never put me on the schedule because she wanted me to call back and confirm? That was the a-ha moment for me... uhh duh on me I know. She said ""sorry"" and claimed that they were having phone issues (for 2 weeks?) and technical issues with the website. I said I was sorry too - I'm pau! If you are a plumber reading this, please know that you can open a business and if you can answer your phone, show up and do the job right, you will be an everyday real life hero... so go for it!

This story actually got even worse. The verbal $500 estimate for a simple installation turned into a $2300 estimate plus tax when the written estimate finally came. That is with me supplying the water heater. Brain surgeons make less than that. I will be taking my written estimate to Home Depot so that they know what is going on. Why the difference between the verbal estimate and the written estimate? Why $2000 an hour for a plumber?

Just purchased a water heater & got it installed by Kama'aina Plumbing. Lisa got back to me straight-away & making an appt. was no problem with their courteous operator! Dan & Earl did a great job & were very informative. Dan also answered any & all questions I had. Very pleasant & efficient guys! They did a great job! Will definitely be calling Kama'aina Plumbing again when I need plumbing work!

Not happy at all with the service. The receptionist talked too fast on the phone and forget to get my email address to email me the estimated quote. Checked the estimate and it was a total rip off when it was a simple replacement seal that had to be done. The plumber did not have a 4 way key to shut off the water. He acted professional but he did not look professional at all. Only want the money but the service was bad.
