Because we are a mother and daughter - both disabled - living in an apartment, we are always in need of help with odd jobs. So decided to give Kal a try on a small job installing a new shade blind we'd purchased for our patio. The job was an easy one involving measuring placement of 3 ceiling brackets, drilling 8 holes, screwing brackets on and clipping the housing onto the brackets - something that would have taken me 20 minutes before succumbing to a degenerative neurological disease. While we have no complaint about the actual work he did, we do take issue with how much we were charged ($125 - a lot for disabled folks on a tight budget) for the short time he was here (1 hour), during which he first had to go down 3 floors back to his truck for his tools which he should have brought in the first place. Then after receiving a phone call, he left again for a full 15 minutes, during which we assumed he talked on the phone. In addition, when we asked if he could spend a few more minutes twisting the feet on our range to raise the cooktop height, he said he was too busy and had to leave. Finally, given we're disabled, we thought for sure on his way out he would take the incentive to put the rather large and unweildy shade blind packaging in the dumpster for us, but no go on that too.

So in summary, Kal is expensive, inflexible, lacking in initiative and just plain unwilling to go the extra mile - not the kind of service you'd want for your wife or grandmother or daughter, particularly if they were disabled and living alone...
