Recommended Customer Reviews

We just finished with Joe a few minutes ago for an estimate on a vanity replacement project in our master bath. He manner was very courteous, respectful, professional and friendly. He was very knowledgeable and thorough without being lengthy. He gave us some good information regarding the lighting over the vanity we are putting in which will help us choose the new lighting fixtures we will buy. We had questions about a future project for which he gave us very good information. We were especially impressed with his handwriting which was very neat and readable. That has not always been true when we have received written estimates for other project services. We are getting further estimates and will decide which company we will go with after the other estimates are received.

I bought a hot water heater from Jr Putnam and I hate it!!!!! I'm so unhappy with all the hardware it came with and they don't tell you this when they sale it to you???? The field supervisor (Cory dewees) came out to look at it but never got back to me ...he just left me hanging?? If a customer is really unhappy about a product that was sold to them and wasn't told about all the hardware it was going to come with it like false advertising!! What I would like to see happen is to switch out the one I have now (electric) back to my (gas)...right now your rating is a zero but if Jr Putnam could switch out my electric hot water heater to a gas hot water heater I would rat you a ten plus ...""How can we make you smile"" that is Jr Putman slot in isn't it? You need to live up to that!! Until that happens you will have a very unhappy customer...

Update 7/20/2019:
Thank you for writing me a long response. However, it's not about the length of the response but about the actions you take. Instead of investing all that time to respond to my service dissatisfaction, you could have invested the time in calling me to find a resolution. Reputable companies call their customers and not ask them to call them. By finding a resolution, you could have easily turned my 1-star review to 5-stars and I would positively reflected on my experience. This explains the culture of the company and how it deals with complaints. I am glad that what happened to me was reversible and not like a previous customer who had their compressor die due to a very similar experience they had. I am grateful for this age and time where dissatisfied customers can easily share their experiences with the public.
Update 7/18/2019:
I lost trust in JR putman. The next day JR Putman responded to my complaint and sent another technician to check on my air conditioner that suddenly stopped cooling after their service. The technician stated that nothing wrong happened during the 1st inspection and that my system needs to be replaced. The technician couldn't give me a clear answer on why my system would suddenly deteriorate when it was working fine. He also couldn't provide a logical reason to why on the first diagnosis the temp difference was 19 and after a day it dropped to 15. I specifically asked him if my system needs refrigerant since I saw the refrigerant leaking on the 1st service. He insisted that the amount of refrigerant is perfect and insisted that I need a new system. He also kept on asking to schedule an appointment to show me the different new systems. I didn't believe that my system would stop cooling overnight and that the 1st technician didn't mess up. I didn't believe it since my air conditioner stopped cooling in less than 24 hours and I saw the refrigerant leaking while the 1st technician was performing the test. To clear my concerns, I got another company to service my air conditioner today. And sure enough, they diagnosed it with a low refrigerant and they fixed it right away. Shortly, they were able to pump refrigerant and have it running as before. I regret doing my maintenance service with JR Putman and so disappointed that a company which I thought is reputable try to cover facts. I have all the new reports and the technicians have all the previous results and it clearly shows how they messed up. I had to pay $350 to return my system back to its previous condition (receipt available). I was interested in getting a new system from JR Putman but after such an experience, I cannot trust their work anymore. I would totally understand if they would own their mistake and stand accountable for such a fault. I rarely write negative reviews, but such an experience is worth sharing with the public.
Original post 7/16/2019:
I scheduled an air conditioner inspection with JR putman. The technician did a thorough job. However, from the day of inspection till today, the air conditioner started to deteriorate. The inspection was done on Sunday and in less than 24 hours the cooling effect of the air conditioner significantly decreased. While the technician was placing the device to check the refrigerant pressures, the refrigerant leaked while it was improperly hocked. My purpose of the inspection was to check on the condition of the air conditioner but unfortunately ended up with a worse outcome.

Before writing this review regarding our experience with JR Putman (first company to diagnose our air conditioner), we decided to wait a few weeks to determine whether or not the second air conditioning company we called out actually fixed the issue.
We totally feel like JR Putman did a bait and switch on us. We called them based on their radio ad special of $69 for diagnosis and 2LB of freon. Based on the symptoms of the air conditioner, it appeared to be low on freon, so we thought we'd have JR Putman come out and do a diagnostic along with adding freon. When the tech did the inspection, he stated: ""system is low on R22 & looks to have a leak in the coil."" So he told us he would not put freon in it unless he did a dye test for $600.00 to determine if the system was ACTUALLY leaking. We refused the dye test, so he refused to add the 2lbs of freon.
Before leaving he quoted us, $4,791.00 to replace the coil. WOW you've got to be kidding me, we just replaced an entire unit for $5,500.00 with a different company. Total rip off!
As soon as the tech left, we called another company. They came out and it was determined there was NO leak, they added freon and it's been running great every since.
We paid JR Putman $69 for NOTHING! Such a scam!

This has been our go to company for over 15 years and today is an example of the reason for our loyalty. Thank you Amber for listening to my problems, returning calls and remembering our situation when a cancellation came available! Thank you Joey O. for your diligence in resolving our complicated repairs! We are grateful for the integrity that you & your company stand for and will always call on you for our needs. We have let our family, friends & neighbors know of our experiences is the past and several have used your company and will do the same again!
Sincerely,
Mark Nugent

I called late Friday afternoon(5-31-19) after turning off the water to my house. I was trying to fix a problem by myself and should have known better. I was in deep trouble with my significant other as we tried 3 other plumbers and nobody could respond before Saturday evening. JR Putnam said they usually can get a volunteer to take one more call, even after having worked all day. Jeremy agreed to take the call. Jeremy told me he cld get the water back on that night but cldnt promise he cld save my hose bib where the leak started. I had tried to remove a fitting from the bib to a phantom pipe that went nowhere. naturally since the plumbing was 62 year old galvanized pipe buried underground it crumbled as soon as I started to turn the wrench. Jeremy found another fitted further back and removed cleanly. It seemed like a miracle since he warned that if it didn't work, he wld hv to go under the house to find a place to cap it off. unfortunately when we turned on the water the 62 yr old pipe leaked. So Jeremy ended up going under the house. He came out sooner than I expected, but I was afraid that the price of this visit increased quite a bit while he was under there. The price was higher than capping it off in the yard but much more reasonable than I was expecting. The water was back on, I wasn't broke, Jermey did a great job explain the options and possible results, and best of all, I am no longer allowed to work on plumbing. Thanks JR and Jeremy.

Beware!!! Thank goodness after getting a quote for a whole house fan and attic insulation I called and said no thank you because I got twice the insulation and twice the quality of house fan from two different companies for , listen, half of what they quoted me!! Yep , we almost got took for major bucks for lower products! Shame on you guys!!!

my air conditioner failed; jr. putman was out within 24 hours to try to fix it. unfortunately the compressor was the problem so it couldn't be fixed tonight. they're having a portable a/c installed tomorrow to help keep the house comfortable. the employee, juston (or Justin) was great, very polite, quite knowledgeable.
OVER 3 WEEKS LATER: USE ANY OTHER COMPANY!
went from 4 stars to 1 star (would have left negative stars if possible). 3 weeks and 3 days later, they're finally here to replace my compressor. I advised them from the start that i'm a stage 4 metastatic sarcoma patient I was told they'd take care of me quickly. after 1-2 calls each week all I heard from the office staff was they didn't know when compressor would arrive. um, hello TRACKING. I would have gladly paid for expedited shipping but was never given that option.
they were supposed to finally show up last Thursday (20 days from 1st visit) but when I called to get a time frame, oops they'd cancelled my appt. and changed it to today without letting me know. someone finally showed up at 6:20 pm, then advised me the job takes 4 to 4 1/2 hours! who in their right mind schedules such a long job during the evening???
so sorry I ever bought this system from such a lousy company with the worst service ever. not a single contact from management despite my numerous calls and being told i'd hear something the next day.

i had a appointment to service my air condinair no show not even a phone call i call them loser

I was contacted by a Putman Sales Tech after I filled out a ""Home Advisor"" form concerning relocating my master bath commode and vanity, which needed to be done for a bath remodel. Putman's sales tech was punctual, pleasant and provided an estimate (which was accepted on the spot). Said sales tech then presented a ""Service Club Membership"", which also seemed acceptable and stated that his company could remodel the entire bathroom, which I was interested in.
Since I was enlarging my shower, I needed a second visit by the service tech to ascertain the exact info for the tech's bid. The tech provided a second bid including the complete remodel, which was acceptable, but his bid had a lot of gray areas in it, which he had to discuss with the owner of the company (which is not JR Putman). The tech's verbal price increase to his second loosely worded bid was almost 50% more. Since the tech did not provide an industry acceptable bid sheet, I wrote said bid myself and sent it to the tech via the company's email and that was the last I heard from him. I called the tech and he said he would get back to me. It did not happen! Good thing I caught this early rather than agree to a poorly worded bid and/or provided a deposit for a project they could not or would not complete.
IN RESPONSE TO JEFF W's RESPONSE:
B.S., No call was received by me and when I called your Sales Tech on the 28th he told me he would check with the Owner and get back to me! You are a Plumbing Company, aren't you? I requested plumbing work and you stated that it was beyond your scope....interesting. Reading your reviews on this site proves I dodged a bullet by not contracting with you. By the way, lying in your response to me shows that you do not even deserve the one star you received from me! Have a nice day Jeff
