Avoid this company like the plague. I waited a few days before writing this review in an attempt to cool off. It didn't work. I'll keep it brief and to the point. We had this company come out to my 92 year old mother's house to take a look at her thermostat and heater. When the gentleman arrived he diagnosed a blown fuse. He told us it would take about 45 minutes for a new one to arrive. In the meantime he said that the heater was poorly installed and not properly ""sealed"" at the bottom and that it could be ""dangerous"". Adhesive tape and sealant would do the trick. Estimate for the sealing was around $400. We felt we had no choice. The work took about an hour. Eventually the fuse arrived and was installed then he presented us with a bill of over $800.00. He claimed that he had shown us an estimate for ALL of the work. He had not. Just the sealing portion. When we objected to the bill based on time, materials and complexity of the job, he said we didn't understand business or the HVAC business in particular and they don't bill on time and materials as that isn't the way you grow a business. Did you get that one? That isn't the way to grow a business. This to an attorney who has been in business for well over 40 years. The service person was rude and condescending. We pressed for him to call his supervisor and he did, reluctantly. He was able to get a reduction of $150 but that was only after we dug in our heels. The $89 service call that's deducted from your final bill? A lost leader. I am sure that there are other companies out there that do business in a fair and just way but it's not these guys. BTW, when you read the fine print on their contract for work it says that any negative reviews may result in a law suit. I guess they're clairvoyant too.

I probably called 10 different 24/7 plumbing services today and John Stevenson was the most prompt. Ryan came to help us and he was great. He explained in detail the issue, showed us the parts and exactly what he was doing to repair it. The repair was very clean and thorough, afterwards it was like the issue was never there. Great peace of mind!

Do not use this company! We had an emergency HVAC call, and they had me sit around all day waiting for the tech. They then confirmed that he would arrive between 6-7 PM. This was a Saturday over the holidays, and my family sat patiently waiting to go to dinner, with the kids hungry! Each time I called to check they assured me he was on his way. At 7 PM I finally received a call from the tech telling me that he had been trying to call the office, getting no answer, he had no parts, and might be able to make it out in a week... Utter fail.

I'm happy with JSP. I can't give them a perfect score, but they really stepped up to correct their mistake. They initially installed the wrong furnace that I ordered. They were very apologetic. Seanna Drabek took control, called to say JSP strives for 100% satisfaction and when did I want my new furnace installed. It was scheduled and installed right away. Seanna even stopped by my house with treats for me and my dogs! I would say that JSP does take responsibility and does strive to give their customers complete satisfaction.

As the remodel at my home came to a pause between phases, the frustration mounted as 2 different professional plummers couldn't figure out why our guest bathroom toilet remained clogged. I reached out online for recommendations and John Stevenson's Plummings got the job. They came through promptly, pulled the toilet and sent the camera down the pipe and found my sons Bath Toy ""Zurg from toy story"" standing confidently and obstructing the flow of our lives! We all had a good laugh watching it on the screen as they pushed Zurg into the depths of Vistas sewer system. They were prompt, fast, pleasant and reliable as well as fairly priced. I couldn't be happier with the service and paperless approach! I highly reccomend these guys for all your plumbing needs! Thanks guys!

Still crooks, a very weak response for charging $720.00 for a half hour labor.
It is worth $89.00 to keep this review online.

I had a gas leak out by my pool equipment and also by my water heater. Travis and his side kick came out to repair it. Within the first 1/2 hour, Travis said he had to pull a permit with the city to do the work. He also told us that we needed a new furnace, a/c and water heater. He could replace it all for $17,000. What, no, he was here to fix a gas leak. I called SDG & E and asked about the permit and they looked at my chart and told me no permit and no inspection was needed. He reluctantly did the work but said he had to cap the gas line from the meter to the fire pit and BBQ because that's where the leak was. I asked what that meant and he said that we wouldn't be able to use the BBQ and fire pit, like forever. We paid $400.00, for what, I'm not sure. WE had another plumber uncap the line to the fire pit and BBQ and SDG &E turned the gas back on and all is well. I'm not sure what Travis was trying to do but we didn't fall for it. I never want to see this company on my property again.

I hate writing negative reviews, and I do so responsibly. I had a very simple plumbing job, a little leak under my bathroom sink. When I booked my appointment I explained that I currently have no income whatsoever and understanding my situation, they agreed to waive their estimate fee of $98. I assured them I needed the work done. They sent a plumber who was on time, considerate of my home and my priorities, and seemed to know his job well. I could see he was proud of his profession. The only reason they get one star at all is because I have the plumbers consideration.
I knew it was a simple job since I already had all the parts, but it turned out even simpler than that. The plumber took my old pipes and simply taped and glued them back together in the spot that was leaking. It was also my glue and tape. But in the end they still charged me $98.

I mean seriously, the labor to glue and tape a pipe together costs $98? Now I understand he doesn't make those decisions, but I feel the company took gross advantage of me. I would've much rather had the plumber himself simply tell me put the pieces together glue them and wrap them. He may be an extremely good plumber for all I know, but I'll never know. However knowledge isn't what makes a professional. A true professional plumber would probably charged me $50 just for a service call, there were no parts and labor took about two minutes.

I do not recommend John Stevenson Plumbing because their work ethic is really lousy. I also feel misled by them. They were extremely irresponsible, certainly on unethical.

Stay away from John Stevenson Plumbing -two thumbs way down.

I discourage anybody from using them. A business should not grow based on taking advantage of its customers.

Well I woke up at 6:30am to find that the tank on the toilet was cracked and had been leaking onto the floor all night. I figured I would need a new toilet but where do I start. I googled plumber in my area and John Stevenson popped out at me. I called before 7am and they said that they would have someone out to my house at 9am! Wow - great service!

I was planning on leaving for the weekend so I needed the job done right and I wanted some kind of warranty on their work and that's exactly what I got.

Not only were the plumbers nice and friendly, they did the job in a few hours and then I left for my trip knowing that I didn't have to worry about the toilet. They also made it so that the toilet seat wouldn't slam when putting it down. I have 3 small kids and they slam the toilet cover down all the time. All my kids thought that was so cool!

I was very happy from beginning to end and I will use them again for sure!

They charged us $500 to unclog a toilet. When it was clogged again a week later, they charged us another $350. The funny thing is that we called them because of their coupon and they wouldn't even honor it.
