I had John Stevenson Plumbing our for an emergency cracked valve. Joseph Wood was fantastic, quick and efficient with getting the water back on. I live in a 12 unit complex with a main water supply that needed to be shut off for the building in order to fix the valve in my unit. I also had Joseph replace the water heater and change out a few angle stops while he was already onsite. He was Very professional, cleaned up after the work was performed and updated me throughout the entire process. I highly recommend John Stevenson Plumbing and Joseph Wood to resolve any of your plumbing needs.

I had called J stevenson heating and plumbing on a pinhole pipe leak in my garage. They were the first of 3 to respond. They came out and looked at the leak and needed to replace about 3"" of pipe which took no more than 20 min for $650. Being a RE broker 40 years, I'm 68 and I told them that was 3 times what it should be. My choice they said was to pay $189 for the trip or have them do it. We had even cut the drywall all out so it was ready to go which saved them time and $
For them that price did not even include closing it up. It took them all of 20 min to do that job.
Then they looked at my tankless water heater and said it was illegally installed, dangerous and needed to be fixed or replaced. They would bundle the work and give a discount on the pipe if we included that fix. Whenever you ask a question on price as i did on the phone prior to their arrival or how much they would take off the piroe fee yheyvwould not give an Estimate. They quoted new water heater $3,000 that day. They did not tell me they would charge over $2500 for install. Everything is vague and approximate. i also needed a new heater as mine was 30 years old and i was thinking of replacing anyway so they quoted about $5000 that day. I asked them to give me a breakdown and they always say they will but it never comes. After installation of the water heater, they discounted the pipe bill $200 down to $450.
Thecheater was to go in followi g wed. They called and cancelled that trip, rescheduled for friday and cancelled again as they had just gotten very busy. They wanted to install Sat and i said i would rather wait min or Tues . That was not possible as they had just gotten another big job. So I cleared my schedule 3 times for them .
When the heater was finally installed they left around 5:30 and we went out to eat until about 7:30
Up0n returning my whole garage and house was filled with very strong gas. It was lethal. We tried to tun the gas off at furnace. But the valve was installed wrong against the wall and would not turn off. Luckily i have a strong boyfriend who had a wrench and was able to turn it off outside.
I called the jStevenson emergency hotline 4 times until 10 or so. No answer. We opened all windows and doors of course and went to bed both waking with headach in morning.
Next mornung sunday theycalled and showed up around 9:30 am. They tested both the furnace and water heater pipes with the gas detector that showed all red bars.
They also admitted the valve was installed incorrectly. I had asked upon completion of both installations if they checked for leaks and they said they did. But they did not have a gas deyecto on that mercedes truck.
Minday am i called the office, sent them an email explaining the dangerous situation i had been put in. They had their attorney call me back and said they made a small mistake and it had been corrected.
I still wanted compensation and by Tuesday their attorney called me and wanted full payment for both or go to collections. I had already tried to pay for waterheater week before but the office was not competant to figure it out. I explained to the attorney my furnace had only beeni 3 days and I had asked for a 30 day pay from day 1 as I explained i was inthe middle of a refinance on my home. He gave me a other week and even that was illegal as I was more than willing to pay for both in 30 days . My FICO score is over 800.
Needless to say the stress and trama was not over. The final bill was over 9,000. I had to beg for a breakdown of parts and labor and could not even register the furnace with Maytag as they have given me the wrong serial # 3 times. I also paid over $5500 for a water heater that was originally quoted $3000 and the labor on both after googling the cost is over $450-500 an hour.
I have yetvto receive any receipts for furnace or waterheater or even a receipt for the $9,000 i paid on credit. This is 6 weeks later and this is not a ask and you shall receive company by any means. It is totally no. Transparent, gouging, and too busy to do anything once they have been paid. Though they did send the wrong serial number 3 times. I have also been requesting someone come out and check the noisy roar the furnace makes every time it starts up. That was 2 weeks ago a d is a safety measure for me. They said they wetr very busy and had to wait until mi. JAN. THAT WAS OVER 30 DAYS. Needless to say if anyone walking a dog in my side walk that night lit up a cigarete. They would have blown up my house and been injured themselves. So much for safety and the emergency hot line.
Their adds say they are the BEST. Can anyone beat this one?
I am doing my own work on getting truth and transparency day by day and hope at some point I can get some truth and transparency ON WHAT I paid for, put this behind me and feel I get some fair treatment. It has been like fighting the cabal.

I've had these guys out to my house at least half a dozen times which is why I feel compelled to leave this review warning others against using this company and especially against buying their home maintenance plan.

The first time they came out I had a sink faucet that caused a big flood. The couldn't repair anything because it all needed to be torn out before fixing the faucet so they said instead of paying $100 for the call out here you can apply it to our maintenance plan which gives you 4 maintenance visits a year for water heater flush, plumbing, heating and a/c for $275.
Buying this was a big big mistake. I wish I'd paid the $100 service fee and never called this company again. But alas...the story continues...

When they came to change my a/c filter they did not have the right size so they USED DUCT TAPE to wrap the outside of the filter and try to make it fit instead of going to get the proper fitting filter. Of course they did not share this with me and my dad found it 5 MONTHS LATER after dirt and debris had been bypassing their homemade filter and going into my system all summer. Of course I called them hopping mad. They came. Acknowledged. Apologized. Changed the filter and as remediation offered me an additional year of their stupid maintenance plan.

So I try to at least make use of the maintenance plan they sold me and I call for the water heater flush. Guess what?! They can't do it because (like most do) we have a metal valve. They can only do it if we pay them to replace it with a plastic valve.

So I call them for the heat check. Heats fine cause my furnace is 2 years old. Then less than a week later the heat goes out. ( it has been raining a lot, maybe coincidence but judging from my past experience I doubt it.

I have them do the plumbing check and of course he finds that our valves are corroded and need replaced. He wasn't wrong- we do have hard water but his check caused one to start leaking right away. Of course I find it 3 days later after everything under my sink is getting wet and moldy.

I just feel that they really messed up when they put the rigged up air filter in there - it's was more than negligent because he knew what he was doing and then hid it! It was intentionally damaging my home.

I tried to extend them some grace and make use of the maintenance plan but my experiences have been nothing short of horrible every time.

Beware of John Stevenson, Plumbing and HVAC!!
I am 85 years old, came out of the hospital with pneumonia and I have COPD all of which I told John Stevenson on Friday December 6th. My heating was blowing cold air. They sent a technician who reported the problem to his Manager and let me know the system needed a new gas valve ($1200), many other repairs(all together $3000) but I could get a new unit for $3600 which could probably be installed the next day.
The main thing I was told was the new valve had to be ordered and would not be available until Tuesday, December 9th.
I called another company who did not charge $89 to come, arrived within the hour, inspected the unit, told me I needed a new gas valve, went to the place that sells them, installed it and an hour and a half later I had heat for $700. He also told me he could find nothing else wrong after inspecting the unit.
Considering my medical condition, to set me up to buy a new unit is just deplorable. This is tantamount to a scam!!
Please note this is the first Yelp I've ever written but I had to rid myself of the angst this has caused me.

Like a few others have said, the reviews regarding expense on this company couldn't have been more right. If you want to pay more than you need to, these are your guys. I made an appointment without looking at the reviews and should've cancelled like my gut told me to once I read them. But my heater was blowing cold air and I was freezing so I stuck with my appointment. I had a 4hr window (8am-12pm) and the tech was very late, he arrived about 12:45, I had to call to check the status at noon after I had wasted 4 hours of my morning. When the tech finally arrived to look at it, he was in my garage about 10mins and told me that it was too old to fix and that the entire thing needed to be replaced. He quoted me $3100. I have a friend who works in this field so I called his company to be sure it wasn't too overpriced. I should have used them to begin with but they were very busy so I figured I'd give someone else a shot. He told me that for exactly the exact same unit he was offering, it should cost me $2500 at most. When I went out to talk the tech about it, he called his boss to ask him to lower the price. Of corse he declined. As we talked outside of his Mercedes van, this turned into him telling me that he had never heard of the company I had called and assured me how many licenses & certifications they had, how much better they were etc. I honestly liked the guy until this point and I liked how quickly they could do it, but hearing him bad mouth another company without even knowing who they were put a bad taste in my mouth, on top of being late etc., the circumstances went from just not great to pretty bad. I'm sure they do good work on their replacements, but there's no doubt they upsell you and they seem very disinterested/too lazy to do minor repairs, they prioritize the big money from replacements. & While I understand this might be necessary and good for business not everyone can afford it especially at Christmas time. All of this aside, I was still considering using these guys because I wanted to get it taken care of. So I spoke to the manager to try to resolve some of these issues and he didn't seem concerned about anything other than the $89 diagnostic fee that I owed him (which the technician specifically told me twice that I could pay the following day when the work was to be done). He assured me these guys went to college for this etc. I really advise getting some other quotes before giving these guys a call. Even if I were to pay $3100 to replace my furnace, I wouldn't give it to them because of how I was treated overall. After this another company came over to take a look and he had it up and running in about 15 minutes with the end result being a $300 repair part, he even warmed up my house before he left until he could come back the next day with the new part and had a great economical plan to replace both the A/C & the heater a little later when I could afford it. So much for that college degree huh? Good customer service & honesty goes a long way John Stevenson. I should've been more patient.

After failing to get the job done myself, I gave these guys a call after a quick google search. Set up a same day appointment, at my house about an hour and a half later. I mentioned an online special they had, and they stuck too that price, no added fees or services. They came in, knocked the job out quickly, and even cleaned up a mess I had created. Great friendly service all around. I definitely recommend

I called for a plumber mid-afternoon and no one promptly called back, except John Stevenson Plumbing . They came out to my house within 2 hours of calling. Jeremiah was the technician. He immediately tried to sell my husband on a free plumbing analysis before starting any work or giving us an $89 estimate. We had a leaking water spigot in the garage which required turning the house water off which my husband helped with. After waiting approx. 40 min. for the water to drain he gave us an outlandish bid of over $800. I said no way but my husband whispered we will be out $89 if we dont go with him.
I finally got to lower his initial estimate of down to $670
with a senior discount and a lot of skepticism. This tells me there is a lot of play in the price of the job. The van they use is a Mercedes Benz and I figure I made one of the payments. Our house is large and after looking around he figured we could handle a more expensive estimate. The job was relatively simple.
I know we were had because the other plumbing companies quoted me later in the day and their prices were substantially cheaper.
I am giving them 3 stars for the work done. Beware of their outlandish pricing.

We had this company come out twice. They consistently bashed our new appliances (said these broke down all the time and couldn't be fixed) and were never able to fix any problem. First time they said our Bosch dryer would need to be replaced. Another technician resolved the problem. Our touch sink stopped working - JS plumbing technician called Hans Grohe to get parts under warranty and let us know it would cost $500 to install pieces or $1000 to install a new faucet. We got a second opinion from another plumber who recommended trying a new battery before installing new parts. $8 later our faucet is back in action. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

$490 for a 45 minute bathroom faucet installation. Disappointing when you go with a local independent business and then get price gouged. I called up to confirm the price was correct, and that's what they charge.
