Hortensia S.I call John Moore for clogged issues on Friday night and made an appointment for Saturday between 8 am and 12 pm. On Saturday, I get a call at 11:30 am saying that they are running behind schedule and it will now be between 12 pm - 4 pm, which I am still fine with, I then receive a second call at 2 pm stating that the service technician are still tied up on other jobs and now it is going to be between 4 pm - 6 pm. Still needing my plumbing issue resolved I agree but I want to make sure someone is coming out which the service rep on the phone insures me they are so I agree to continue to wait on them. I receive a final call from a service rep at 5:24 pm stating that they will not be able to get to me today and that they will have to move my appointment to Sunday between 12 pm - 2 pm. I become very vocal because not only did they have me waiting all day for a service tech to show up they also ran my credit card for a $69 service call fee. Well Sunday comes and no service tech showed up nor did I receive a phone call with an explanation as to why. I ended up calling another plumbing company first thing Monday morning that showed up an hour after I called. Three days later, I am still dealing with this company in order to get my $69 refunded.
Bonnie Z.Everyone was so nice from the gentleman that answered the phone all the way to the three technicians. It was a very complicated issued and I was very frustrated, but the guys were very friendly and reassuring. I totally recommend these guys.
Tom L.My "go to" for repairs on my house. I've had them replace two hvac systems, my water heater, and today they installed a new junction box for my stove and labeled my breaker box. They have always been very professional and most importantly I know they are doing everything the right way and not cutting corners. I know enough about repairs etc to know they aren't trying to pull one over on me. They seem to take pride in their work and not someone off the street they picked up out front of Home Depot.
Erin K.Excellent service! Super helpful technician who went above and beyond. Sent us an updated quote within minutes of asking.
Melissa V.Stewart was an excellent John Moore representative! He was fast, friendly, and professional. This was a rescheduled appointment; yesterday, our appointment had to be canceled due to work at another home. The office staff worked hard to make sure we had our problem taken care of as soon as possible.
I understand problems happen at other job sites and was happy with how they handled it. Used the $69 drain clean for our washing machine/sink and it was the happiest $69 I've spent in a while. We'll definitely use them again.
Called for an AC issue they didn't diagnose correctly the first time, but they were responsive and stood behind their work. Professional and reliable.
I had water coming from the overflow outside, checked around the house and figured out it was coming from a water heater in the attic. I called John Moore (first co. that picked up the phone) and the rep. said they could be there between 4-8. Keep in mind that I've had water heaters burst in my house before and it's a HUGE mess. So I paid my $69.00 fee as requested. Well, like
Alicia, they called me at 6 and said that nobody can come I have to wait until sunday morning 8 a.m. What do you do, you wait, you've paid money and it's too late to reach someone else.
The guy shows up at 8 and tells me the cost will be $3,199.98 to replace the water heater, inspection, roofer to make a seal at the roof where the pipe comes out(new code in L.C.).
My husband and I flipped out but felt we had little choice it needed repair.
so after I sign and pay half up front he tells me that it won't be done until the next day!!!!!
Another sleepless night, a different plumber shows up without a partner so he does all he can by himself for two hours then the partner shows up and they do their job.
I want you all to know that they called me at 7:37 (a full seven hours before my water heater even got to my house for the remainder of the balance. I said no way it's not even installed.
I got yet another call for the balance before the plumbers got to my house again I'm not going to pay until the job is done. When the guys were finishing up a QC guy shows up to find out if I'm happy. I am furious with what's gone on over the course of three days. He really doesn't want to hear it but does. After the roofer and the inspector finish I called the QC guy to pay the balance, reluctantly, but I do. He calls later to offer me back my $69.00 as a favor.
What you all need to know is that I have since gotten other bids from other companies and their price for the same water heater was HALF the cost. I knew I was being ripped off I just didn't realize how much. PLEASE DO NOT let these people rip you off like I did. I'm reporting them to the BBB since I've gotten the other quotes.
Mark W.Called them two days ago for a quote for my rental property to replace all main panels for all apartments. This is approximately a $10.000 to $15.000 job. They charged me $49.00 fee to come out and give me a quote. They had a 4 hour time frame from 10 am till 2 pm and never showed up. They didn't even call me.
Such disappointment and waste of my time and gas.
This is the work order: 1509150266 Call John get nobody.
Alicia J.Attitude from phone representatives do not win customers. They said they would be here between 6-10pm on a Friday night. They called at 6:30 to say no technician was available. No "sorry" after asking what happen several times, but "chevene"( the rep who called) admitted no technician was ever available. Needless to say, we were angry they made us wait for hours for our timeframe and they had no intention of calling us hours prior to let us know that we didn't really have an appointment. When I called back to see if I could get an earlier appointment than 6pm the following day, they denied that it was a scheduling problem, even though "chevene" talked to my husband a few minutes ago. She said it wasn't their fault and didn't apologize. Yes, I spoke to her as well. And got attitude too.
I want to give them the benefit of the doubt but own your issues. Don't try to hide that this was a mess up on your end. If they had apologized instead of giving us attitude, instead of making us wait over their "24 hour policy", this bad review wouldn't be written. Good customer service goes a long way but now their BAD service will be even more well known due to this review.
NEXT DAY: John Moore saw this review and called us and apologized. I REALLY appreciated that. John Moore owned their issue. That is good service recovery with a very long term customer. They offered us a $75 discount on the next service. Thus, from this call, I change my rating from 1 star to three.
My AC unit went out several months ago and I unfortunately called John Moore first. They were able to get my unit running again for $600 and recommended that I replace the motor and capacitor for an ADDITIONAL $1000 since they thought it would likely stop working soon (I declined). They ended up being right as it recently went out. However, I looked up the cost for a new motor and capacitor and it was $180, and there was no way I was gonna pay $820 for labor for a job that ended up taking me (without proper tools) 1 hour to do. I would have gladly paid them for an hour or even two hours of their time, however their pricing is beyond absurd.
Interestingly, when I went to purchase the motor, I spoke with several guys in the shop and briefly mentioned my story (without mentioning John Moore) as the attendant was in the back getting the motor. When I told them the price that this company had attempted to charge, the guy (who owns his own AC repair company), stated without provocation, "One THOUSAND dollars? Are you serious, who did you call, John Moore??!" He just shook his head and said he would have charged a total of $350-400 for parts and labor, which I would have gladly paid.
