Let me first say that I work for local government in the Engineering Department so I have 15 plus years working in and around Construction Permitting and Building within local government. Additionally, I have 18 years working in the private sector of construction.. That does not make me an expert but it does give me a unique perspective with personal experience as well as resident knowledge from dissatisfied and satisfied members of our community. When looking for a service company that can provide years of knowledge and effective creative problem-solving techniques there is no-one better than Joe's Family Plumbing. First, they are a third generational family-owned business that can collectively evaluate your plumbing needs and provide options that range from the obvious to the dream fix. James' teams are a group of professional, well-mannered and very knowledgable technicians who use materials and techniques that are both sustainable and cost-effective. I recommend them to family and friends and anyone looking for highly skilled plumbers who can fix, replace and or improve any type of plumbing issue. -Christopher Melone

Terrible!!! Stay away from them - do not recommend - never followed through - never showed up for appointment - worthless company - save yourself the aggravation - don't do business with them.

I just met this plumber and told him I needed a good back up plumber, and today is Mother's Day and I needed a plumber, and I called him up and I talked to whoever answered the phone, and they said they would let him know, and they took my information and they never got back to me, so I called my main plumber and he came right away.

First business that I actually got to talk to a person, Alicia. She was very nice and got me an appointment first thing in the morning for the next day. Tyler arrived ahead of schedule and finished installing my new hot water tank within 90 minutes. Tyler took the time to show me what he corrected from the previous tank install and the components he used.

Unfortunately I cannot upload the photos of the work done on this review. I was able to upload them on the Google review. There, you can see the burn marks up the side of my house from replacing the faucets, and the hole left in the wall. I was contacted by the owner and he offered to come out and repair the work that was done by a former employee. After trying a couple of times to get him out to fix it, I gave up. The gesture was nice, but it turned out to be just that...a gesture.

I hired Joe's to do the plumbing in my master bath. Price was good but in the end there was a leak. The owner was very rude when I asked them to come back out to tighten the trap. I guess he thought I should be able to do that. I'm thinking why should I try to do that when I paid you to tighten it. They said they could come out in a few days so I tightened it but am left with a soggy wall where the water dripped down. I also have a cheap hose bib story with them too. They charged me $93 for service call and $28 for a cheap $2 part. Where are the good plumbers around here.

I had a hose leak on top of the water heater. John came out after hours. He examined the hose and went to Home Depot to buy a new hose. After installing the hose, he dabbed at the top of the heater with a rag to remove excess water. He instructed me to turn on the water and the electricity to the heater. I did so. He put his head next to the heater, said it was running and that we were good. John left and within an hour there was a loud pop and some smoke at the wires going into the heater. I turned off the electric. Upon looking at the wires on top, I found they were burned. I called Joe's the next morning at approximately 8 and explained the problem. I was told that it sounds electrical. I confirmed that to be true but reinterated that it was on top of the heater where John had worked, not at the breaker. I was told that a ticket was prepared and a technician would be out. I called again at 12 and explained that I needed someone because if I did need an electrician, I needed to get on the phone to avoid another after hour charge. Again I was told that it was electrical. Again I explained that it was at the heater, not the breaker. I was assured that a ticket was out and someone would check the heater. At 2 when I called, we had the electrical discussion again. The ticket was out and someone would come as soon as possible. At 5 I was told it was electrical, no one was coming, and was hung up on. I have never written a bad review on any business. It is a painful exercise and I do not take the task lightly. My goal is to warn other potential victims who trust that a business will respect a customer and themselves enough to stand by their work. All they would have had to have done is come out and check. I would have bought a new water heater from them or employed an electrician, and have been a devoted customer. I want to add that John was very polite and answered my questions in a professional manner.

I called for a clogged drain. Was told they would call right back after they found out where the plumber was. Instead, he showed up and looked at the issue. Had to get a tool. Came back and cleared the clog. Hire local!

Service was arranged for 8 Friday(3/16/18) morning. Joe's finally arrived 30.5 hours later. Our plumbing requests were never communicated to the plumbers from their own dispatcher. This resulted in additional time on the job(more $$$ for them). Additionally, (1) request for an estimate was never provided (2) plumbers showed up lacking proper parts and tools (3) we were charged 50% more for a water heater upon internet investigation. Totally taken advantage of - our mistake for relying on a plumbing referral. Never again!

My hot water heater (in my attic) started leaking a couple of days ago. Since Joe's Family Plumbing was the one that installed it, I called them to fix/replace it under warranty. They said they would have someone out that afternoon. I cleared my schedule and waited...and waited. I called to confirm. They said the guy was running behind...so I waited and waited. I called to find out the status and they said that they wouldn't make it that day after all, but they would send a plumber first thing in the morning (b/w 7:30 and 8:00am). The following morning, rather than going to work, I waited...no plumber. At 8:30am I called and was told that he was on his way. At 9:30 I called and was told he would be there at noon. Ultimately, their price quote to replace the water heater was DOUBLE the price of the company that is doing the work. My only recommendation is to avoid Joe's Family Plumbing.
