I don't typically take the time to write a review, but because of the amazing customer service I received from Jimmy Gusky and his employees, I felt that I had to give them a proper thank you. My wall A/C unit/ptak gave out last week. Considering the temps have been in the high 90's, not having a working air condition was torture. Despite how busy they were with air condition repairs during the hottest time of the year, Jimmy knew I was desperate, and was nice enough to squeeze me in the next day. His employees were professional, knowledgeable, and punctual. It turned out that my air conditioning unit was defective, but was still under warranty. Even though he did not have to, Jimmy made the phone calls himself to the manufacturer to ensure that my parts were still covered. He personally went above and beyond, helping me not just getting my a/c fixed, but making sure that I didn't have to pay as much out of pocket. Jimmy and his team are a top-notch team that know their stuff and are reliable and trustworthy. I will most definitely be using them again.
I contacted Jimmy Gusky on 6 July 2016 and 7 July 2016. No one picked up the phone on either occasion. I left a message both times, but no one called me back.
I have had my AC unit serviced my Gusky before, but I'm amazed at the precipitous decline in customer service at this company.
I scheduled an appointment to have my AC units serviced 5 days in advance. The day of the service comes around, nobody shows, nobody calls. One more chance I figured, it's early summer in DC and it's getting hot, I'm sure they are very busy and there's no way they would miss a second appointment! So I called the next morning and they tell me they were ""busy."" I rescheduled for ""first thing tomorrow morning."" No call, no show. I called back a third time, just for fun at this point. I was curious what their response would be. Straight to voicemail. Now I have to find another company and wait several more days for an appointment.
I called a week in advance and made an appointment to have the outside condenser unit cleaned and leveled on tuesday May 31st. His firm was a 'no-show.' I called on Wed. and was promised (after no apology of any kind) an appt. 12-2 pm. again, another 'no-show.' I called and he said he'd try to find someone--didn't even know where his own employees were and if it were possible to get one to me given two 'no-shows.' If you are looking for NO SERVICE, lack of dependability and a cavalier attitude, he's your man! I would not recommend-period.
M K.Don't bother. They don't answer the phone; they don't return messages. I know it's the busy season but how can you even reach them? I've called several times and no response at all for days.
Peregrinus F.Our A/C went out over Memorial Day weekend. We had a disappointing experience with the company that installed the system, so we were looking for another company to service it. I sorted through options on Yelp and chose Jimmy Gusky on the basis of positive reviews and proximity to our home. Unfortunately, their first available appointment was four days later, on a Friday afternoon. I agreed to wait until then. The next day-Wednesday-they called and were able to fit us in at noon, which was a big relief.
The repair technician was courteous and friendly. He inspected everything, inside and out, including crawling hands and knees through our hot attic. No, it wasn't the coolant, we didn't have a leak, and we didn't need a new compressor. It was only a loose connection that he was able to identify and fix. He charged a reasonable amount for a service call. I offered to tip him cash for the extra effort of crawling through the attic, but he refused. We have a cool house again, two days earlier than expected. Very happy.
Our AC broke this weekend and Jimmy Gusky came to the rescue. I had called the company that had installed the unit and was told that they could come the following Friday. So much for emergency service. I called Jimmy Gusky and not only did Jimmy himself answer the phone at 8am on a holiday but he sent someone out that afternoon. The technician who came was extremely thorough. He gently explained that user error created the problem and walked me through how to prevent it in the future. Lastly, the cost for the emergency service call did not knock me over. I will definitely use Jimmy Gusky for future emergency and routine maintenance.
This smaller company does quality work and has excellent, personalized customer service. Tom Kelly worked with my schedule and provided sage counsel on options for replacing my HVAC after another larger company that had worked on my gas furnace problems over the winter and identified a refrigerant leak in the electric AC during the spring inspection gave me an inflated estimate for replacing my system. The install team arrived somewhat later than originally scheduled, but Tom gave me a heads-up, and they professionally and efficiently installed the new Trane equipment. When you call, there's a good chance you might get Jimmy himself answering the phone. I live in a 3-story condo building and highly recommended this company to all of the other unit owners.
Bekah S.I cannot say nicer things about the service I just received from Jimmy Gusky LLC. Our technician was friendly, knowledgeable and amazingly accommodating. He figured out within just a few minutes what the problem was and was able to correct our HVAC issue with some Freon. I highly recommend them for any HVAC issue you may have - you won't regret it!
Knows his trade for HVAC. Replaced original unit which had a bad compressor with a bigger unit which another company said couldn't be done. He did it. Difference like night and day.
