Sue H.Tom came at time scheduled to fix a leak under my bathroom cabinet. He knew what it was right away and gave me a price quote which I thought was reasonabe from a plumber. He was very patient with my two yapping attack dogs as he helped me search for the water line which needed to be shut down. He also gave me his opinion on some other issues we have. Work completed, not leaking anymore. Nice guy - will use again.
The communication within this company is horrible. So I called on a Thursday to set up an appointment for a leaking toilet and it was set for the following Tuesday(Labor Day weekend). The time frame was set for 12p-2p. So when Tuesday came I was called at 9:15am letting me know that he would be there in about 15 minutes. 9:30am is nowhere near close to noon. But I guess early is better then later and I was actually able to leave work early (30min away) to get home. So Tom was the plumber and started working on the upstairs toilet at 10am. He determined the toilet was a little rocky and needed a new seal and reset the toilet. He was done pretty fast and was out the door by 10:45am and charged me over $250. He mentioned that we can not use the toilet for at least 24hrs. Nobody in the house used the toilet and an hour later there was a pool of water in front of the toilet and streaming from underneath the toilet.
So I called Jim Wagner back at 12pm(noon) and got their answering service letting them know the water leak wasn't fixed and I have water pooling in front of the toilet. They said they will pass the message on. I did NOT receive a call, so at 2pm I called back and AGAIN the answering service was going to pass along the message to ""the office"".
Well it is now 6pm and still no returned call. So I called AGAIN and demanded I get a call back today or I will be putting a stop payment on the $254 I was charged for NOT fixing the leak.
Finally I received a call at 8pm from the ""on-call"" guy and he was apologetic and we set up a new day/time (Thursday morning). At 9pm I received a voicemail from Tom asking to give him a call. So the next morning I called Tom at 7:30am but no answer. He did call back about an hour later but said ""Hi this is Tom from Wagner plumbing, you have a question about your hot water heater?"" I said no, you must have the wrong number. He said he had a missed call from this number and I said yes I called returning your call. He then said ""oh then I don't know why they gave me this number"" and ""ok, well have a good day then."" Again this was horrible company communication.
So when Thursday came around Tom did show up and said it was leaking from the back and was going to cost another $68. At this point it better not leak again because this is a rip off and a huge waste of my time getting off work.
I understand that there might be a couple issues with a leaking toilet but that's why people call professionals to find those issues and fix them. Not fix one issue, charge you, then come back to fix the other issue(s) for an additional charge.
*****I WILL NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN!*****
Greg from Wagner plumbing is the best and as professional as it goes. He came to my house as a professional and left as a friend. He is hard working and wants you to understand what is being done, why it is being done and how to maintain your plumbing so it will last. I highly recommend Greg and Wagner plumbing for all your plumbing needs when you don't know who to call!
Melissa E.Tom came by within an hour of speaking with him. He made our refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker work quickly, and he checked out all the pipes thoroughly. He also let us know that the kit Lowe's sold us was against code, since it was plastic. He was able to use our existing line (after checking it to make sure it was up to code), saving us lots of money. We appreciate his honesty. He was also very patient with my two sons, who kept wanting to ""watch.""
Kim H.I have used Wagner Plumbing on several jobs now. Jim is always on time and does a fantastic job. He and his team can do minor emergency repairs to major plumbing work for bath and kitchen remodeling. I would highly recommend Jim.
We made an appointment for 9am on a weekday. We are a business that opens at 10am, the owner of the company was here at 6:15am along with other employees ready and waiting. Jim did show-up at 9am - per his business card he left, as he gave little to no effort to get in touch with us on his arrival. We are in a very security building with metal gates. If a knock on the glass door didn't work - Hmmmm, maybe a phone call with the number that was provided upon making our appointment might have helped. I called the next day and left a message and received NO return phone call. I called back again the next business day and spoke with Jim Wagner who was Incredibly rude. I asked why he didn't give us a call when his knock went unanswered and he just got more rude and said he wouldn't be returning. Guess we should count our blessings. If he handles his customer so poorly I can only imagine the quality of his work. BEWARE!!! So sorry I even contacted this man. I do not recommend this man/company!
My husband and I just recently moved to the area and used Jim Wagner Plumbing to de-winterize our house. During this visit we were satisfied with Tom. He came promptly and did what he came to do.
Recently we called them again to fix our shower. When I called, they said they were going to have someone call me back. No one ever called. So I decided to call them back about 7 hours later and they said, again, that someone would call me back. I promptly received a call saying that someone had given them a wrong number. I said that it wasn't a problem, and I scheduled an appointment for 5 days later so that I could take the day off from work to accommodate this appointment. The plumber said he would be there between 12 and 2. 2:30 came and went and I called the plumber I made the appointment with. He told me that he didn't have any appointment in his book for me. I reminded him that we spoke 5 days ago, and he said he would try and ""squeeze me in today"" but he had to finish the job he was on. I told him I understood, but asked if he could approximate how long it would take him. He told me that ""you can't estimate a plumbing job"" and that he would call me back in no more than 20 minutes. 40 minutes later I never received a phone call. I called the main Jim Wagner Plumbing number and they said that they would have someone call me back. No one has called, and it took the original plumber over an hour and a half to call me back. He then proceeded to tell me that he didn't have time and wanted to reschedule. Needless to say, I did not.
Is this a real company? It has received great reviews but I have tried multiple times to contact them through their website and by calling, and nobody ever gets back in touch with me. Most recently I called this morning and got their dispatcher, who took down my information and promised someone would call me back. 7 hours later, nothing. How can a company that claims to have service available 24-7 operate like this? I am done trying.
Fontano's S.I own a small business in Naperville and was having some drain issues. I call them in the AM and the were out by 4pm same day. Greg was very courteous and clean. He didn't over charge or do work that didn't need to be done. I would definitely use them again.
Andrea W.Thank goodness for Jim's Plumbing....again! Our sub-pump stopped working during the end of January rain and snow melt down. One call to Jim's and they had Greg call me back to tell me he would be there. I asked what I could do to assist and he stated to make room around the subpump. I moved things around, but it wasn't the subpump. DUH. Greg came over, put on his paper booties, assessed the issue and recommended a new subpump. He did not make me feel stupid and made his way around our basement stuff to get to the issue. He stated a lot of builder grade pumps aren't the best so they may breakdown in less than 5 years. I said, give us a really good one, we don't want this to happen again. He replaced it within 30 minutes. He also checked outside when he was done to be sure the water was dispensing properly. He was so pleasant. Our twin babies were squawking, our 5 year old son was bouncing around. He was just pleasant and patient and kept the conversation with me and accepted the situation with a smile. He was able to take our credit card on his phone swiper, emailed me a receipt and was off. My husband came home as he was leaving, but Greg made sure to get out of the truck introduce himself and explain the situation to him as well. I will definitely call Jim's again, as they replaced a toilet for us last year, with the same pleasant professionalism. Thank you Greg!
