Back in 1994, Jerry launched Jerry's Handy Service, Inc to supplement his income during his time employed the TECO company. Throughout the years, he developed a greater love for improving homes. By 2001, TECO implemented pay cuts for numerous veterans, and he was one of those impacted. In that instant, he decided to invest in himself as a full-time entrepreneur. Therefore, he accessed his 401(k) and emerged as a full-time entrepreneur focused on restoring homes.

By 2004, he published a small advertisement in the community publication. That small ad grabbed the interest of the Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan. The director of weatherization reached out to him to discuss a partnership to become a vendor for their projects, which broadened his customer reach. In 2009, he was contacted by American Project & Repair to become a vendor on upcoming jobs. In 2011, the American Homes company got in touch with our company.
