In 1994, our founder, Jerry Goodwin launched his business, Jerry's Handy Service, Inc to supplement his income while he was with TECO Energy. Over the years, his enthusiasm for home improvements increased a greater love for improving homes. By 2001, the company implemented salary reductions for several veterans, and Jerry was among them. In that instant, he chose to invest in himself as a full-time entrepreneur. Therefore, he took a loan from his retirement fund and transformed into a full-time entrepreneur focused on restoring houses.

In 2004, he ran a small advertisement in the local newspaper. That small ad grabbed the interest of Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan, Inc. Their Weatherization Director reached out to Jerry for a meeting to become a vendor for the initiative, which increased his customer reach. By 2009, Jerry was approached by American Project & Repair to join a partner on their projects. In 2011, a firm named American Homes got in touch with our company. Come 2014, he employed five employees and was still growing. At Jerry's Improvements & Restoration, client needs come first!
