Back in 1994, Jerry started his business, Jerry's Handy Service, Inc as a side venture while he was still working TECO. Over the years, his enthusiasm for home improvements increased a greater love for improving homes. In 2001, TECO implemented pay cuts for numerous veterans, and he was one of those impacted. At that moment, he resolved to fully commit to his business as a full-time entrepreneur. Therefore, he accessed his retirement fund and became a dedicated business owner focused on restoring houses.

In 2004, Jerry placed a small advertisement in the paper. The advertisement grabbed the interest of the Tampa Hillsborough Action Plan. The head of the weatherization program contacted him to discuss a partnership to become a service provider for the organization, which increased Jerry's client base. During 2009, he was contacted by American Project & Repair to join a contractor on upcoming jobs. During 2011, the American Homes company reached out to Jerry. By 2014, Jerry had 5 staff members and continued to expand. With Jerry's Improvements & Restoration, client needs come first!
