Thanks all. I read the reviews here and just canceled my order with home depot. I'll never order an appliance from home depot again.
It is a home depot contractor, the home depot said they will fix the value free. but they charged me $395 to replace it. the old one is working well.
Bella W.I called JEG Plumbing to ask if they provided sewer hook-up service. They took my contact information and said someone would call me back. The next day some sub-contractor shows up at 8am knocks on the door ""ready to start"". Like who are you, and where'd you get my information! JEG farms out personal contact information to sub-contractors. THEY WILL NEVER GET MY BUSINESS. If you care at all about your privacy, don't give them your information.
They came after we bought a new dishwasher from home depot and we're told we needed a new valve. They charged us 400 (we had to pay with check or we would be charged 4% extra). They emailed us a receipt stating we only paid 380. Awful service. They couldn't communicate at all in English and were rude. I won't be buying from Home Depot because of this company. It seems they should have already stopped using them with this many complaints.
Same as all the other reviewers. They came to install my dishwasher and immediately quoted me an extra $450 to replace a valve that they claimed was rusted. It was not rusted. Our home is fairly new construction and another plumber said it was just a bit of glue and calcium which could be easily removed. Next time, I won't waste money on installation, just delivery and haul away services.
JEG came out for Home Depot to install a dishwasher and gas stove last week. I too had an unexpected bill of $400, I talked him down to $350. I've been without a stove for 4 months otherwise I would have ask him to leave and take the stove with him. My plumber would have done it for $160 if it was needed at all. After the pipe was cut he was going to shove the stove in place with the mess on the floor. I had to ask him to wait and give me chance to vacuum the debris up. Boxes were left on the floor in my kitchen when i asked about them removing the card board they said that was the deliver guys job not theirs. My county requires a permit for gas hookups. Home Depot knew that and told me in advance that a permit would be pulled by the plumbing company. I had to ask the plumber 4 times did you pull a permit? He finally said it's required only after hookup. He asked for the days I am available, gave him the days. He said the lady in the office would reach out and schedule the inspection. I am still waiting. I reached out to home depot and they told me I have to deal with the 3rd party plumber, someone that I didn't choose. Needless to say, I will not be using Home Depot for any additional home improvement purchases. I just wish I had read these reviews before letting JEG in my door.
Melissa W.Scam artists from Maryland!!! Home Depot will never get a dime from me ever again. I payed $450 for a new water valve for my dishwasher. I payed the $450 just to be done with Home Depot and this company.
Home Depot sent them out to install a dishwasher. They tried to charge an additional $380 to install a ""T fitting"" and 2 new shut off valves after Home Depot told us all installation would be included. We told them to leave. Additionally, they wouldn't wear shoe coverings in our home and wore their masks under their nose.
If anyone else wants to complain to Home Depot, the correct department is Market Delivery Operations at 240-258-9023. I filed a formal complaint against this company. Home Depot confirmed that two valves are not covered by their installation fee, only one valve is covered, and they would refund me installation if I want to get my own plumber. Home Depot said they are the only plumber that is contracted for our area, and it seems like JEG knows it.
Our plumber installed it by just replacing the hot water valve required for the dishwasher, and he said the second valve was fine and isn't even used by the dishwasher. This would have been covered by the Home Depot installation, so it seems like this company is making up issues to pocket extra money and overcharging for their made up issues.
Nicole T.Same story as everyone else. Came for a Home Depot install of an oven, removed my old one and then insisted on $500 cash to do the install on top of what I paid Home Depot. Additionally they spoke very derogatory of my in Spanish not thinking I understand (my tenant is fluent and told me everything they said) and as I was asking some additional questions about the install which I had paid for they blatantly ignored me then even hit my shoulder as they were leaving the kitchen - which is always inappropriate - but even more so when I'm pregnant.
They brought in the new stove and refused to move it to the kitchen even though I paid for deliver and they had a dolly.
They are scam artists and incredibly horrible individuals. I blame Home Depot for even allowing them into my home.
JEG Plumbing does not even deserve one star. I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot in mid-December which was delivered to my house on December 27. The delivery guys said that a plumber would have to connect a new water hose before the new refrigerator could be installed. They told me not to worry, that there would be no additional charge, and that Home Depot would have a plumber out to my house within 48 hours to install the water hose and then the refrigerator. The following Monday, after I had not been contacted by a plumber, I called Home Depot to complain. They checked with the third party contractor (JEG Plumbing) and told me that the plumber had called my call phone on December 28 (not true) and had determined that I was not home on December 31 (also not true; my wife and I both work from home and were here all day on December 31). Home Depot then promised the plumber would contact me within 48 hours. Today, nine days after the refrigerator was left in my garage by the delivery crew, two JEG Plumbing employees showed up. They connected the new water line--something that I could have done myself, not rocket science--and then left. When my wife asked if they were going to install the refrigerator, one of them replied, ""That's not my job."" I called Home Depot to complain, and they said absolutely the expectation is that the third party plumbers they contract out with will install refrigerators after connecting new water lines. I can't tell you how disappointing this experience has been for me. To sum up, the JEG Plumbing, LLC employee lied about calling me to set up an appointment, lied about no one being home on December 31, and then opted not to do the work they were contracted to do. In retrospect it may be best that they did not install the refrigerator, because they probably would have screwed it up. is incompetent, cannot be trusted to do decent work, and should be avoided at all cost. I will post daily to make sure the message reaches the widest audience possible. I will also write a letter tomorrow to Home Depot detailing the experience and demanding that they drop JEG Plumbing from their list of third party contractors immediately. They can and should do better.Be forwarned--and trust me, I will Home Depot is hearing from me on the perils of picking shady third party contractors--steer clear of JEG Plumbing LLC. Unless you like wasting time and money.
