Call someone else!!!!! Our A/C went on the blitz during the hottest few days so far this year. Our home is only 10 years old we had never had service on our A/C before. We called Wilbur's because we saw their advertisement on the TV and thought they looked like a decent family owned business. Our technician was ""Ray"". He told my husband he wasn't sure what it was and spent 45 minutes of the call googling how to fix the issue. He later told his boss that he was googling the part number. But, my husband gave him a list of the part numbers from the original paperwork from the A/C and it doesn't take 45 minutes to google a part number. He said it was fixed and charged us $416.00. The next day, it was still 80 degrees in our house, so I called them back. It was July 3rd and they said they'd be there by 10am so I took off work. At 12:30pm, I called the office and the person (Sharon) said the technician was still in Middletown and would be coming to our house next. This time, Ray said the cost to replace the part would be another $800.00 with no credit for the first part that he replaced that didn't fix our A/C. When I asked him about the first part, he said it would have eventually gone bad anyway but he'd ask the owner about an adjustment. Ray relayed to me that the owner said there would be no adjustment. He also said he had to order the part and since th next day was a holiday, he wouldn't be back until Friday, July 5th. Friday came and went and no one showed up. I called the office and discovered they were closed on Friday July 5th as well as the 4th. We had to go 4 days with no A/C during the hottest part of the year. The technician (Ray) should have told us he would;t be back for three days instead of leading us to believe he'd be back Friday. On Monday, I called the office to explain that Ray had guessed about what part it needed the first time and had to google the problem to try and figure out how to fix it. I thought we should at least get a credit for the cost of the part. Even though I asked to speak to the owner, I was never able to speak to the owner, he only ""relayed"" messages to me through Sharon (the lady that answers the phone). His message was that the cost to repair my A/C was $416.00 the first time and another $800.00 the second time, take it or leave it. I really feel like they know they had us backed against the wall and desperate for the A/C to work and they did us dirty. Since this is the way that Wilbur does business, we will not be using them again and I will tell every colleague and friend about the experience. Very unprofessional and unfair!!!

I used Wilbur plumbing in the past and called them about cleaning the igniter on my hot water heater. I had this service done in Sept 2018 and again in April 2019. The charges were completely different! Much more expensive the 2nd time I had the same service done. I asked about replacing the igniter, Mark, the technician told me it didn't need it. Needless to say the igniter was changed a few weeks later by someone else and I have not had a problem since.

Professional and quick to respond to a pipe leak in the garage with easy access. The price was high ($380) though as the technician said they charge fixed prices for repairs, not hourly charges. Maybe 2 hours work? Will use them again in an emergency only, as they were prompt, but very pricey.

I would like to start by thanking them for coming out to fix my furnace.. but I was really surprised when I got the bill.. another company told me it would only cost about $200 total because the part that I needed was only about $20 but as cold as it was I needed someone as soon as possible. Justin was here not even an hour, and with the $65 service call my bill was $365.. I don't think that I will be calling them again or referring them. Positive note: Justin was very nice and professional

I really am disappointed, Mark the technician was very kind, however I just looked up how much the part was you replaced and it was 38.20. You charged me 590.00 for service call & installation. The service call was 65.00. The labor was way over a hundred an hour, you might have been in my house 2 hours. Unfortunately I am Going to go continue looking for a plumber that is more responsibly priced.

Highly suggest calling anyone else, I had service b performed on my Bryant AC unit, I had used this company one before my unit was still under warranty and they did not charge me for the part just the labor, fair enough bill 175$ pretty reasonable.

2 years later I had them come for the same in op ac, turned it to be the same issue, my unit is still under warrenty however the tech told me they likey won't replace the party a second time but if they will I would get reimbursed. My bill was 416$ this time...I thought maybe this part was expensive and would be reimbursed. After a few days I contacted Bryant to learn that these tech claims were not true and I should never have been billed for the part. I tried for 2 days to contact Jeff , but only got the receptionist who explained to me the part was only 15$ and that's what I would be refunded however the bill stated that the part was 292$, it was explained to me that the labor is built into the pricing of the part..I explained the despairity between the 2 bills to no avail

tldr;. These guys are gonna charge you whatever they feel like they can get away with they have no standard billing practices and will find every excuse in the book to make it sound legit.

Don't get ripped off try someone else

I was getting my parents house ready for rental and the water heater went out. I called Wilbur who quoted me what the entire job would cost. They came the next day and replaced it. The service guy emailed me the invoice and it was a done deal!

I had an electric 50 gallon water heater installed and it ran me about $1500.

The workmanship and installation were fast and efficient with minimum aggravation. From the time they arrived to the time they left took about three hours. The new water heater is running great.

They do a good job but they are a bit expensive, the price was the only thing I wasn't satisfied with.

When I called for a an HVAC problem I was told that the Tech would give me a quote and if agreed to, would fix the problem. The Tech arrived and when told the problem he said he would check to be sure. 10 minutes later he advised that it was fixed, It needed a new capacitor and he would send the billing via email later. I never did get a quote. A couple hours later I got the email with the billing for $357.00. It just so happened my brother had the same thing (Capacitor) happen to him the same day and his Tech fixed his and added Freon and charged $57.00. I never got an up front quote so I complained to Wilbur's employee to which she replied that the Tech was new and hung up. Do not use Wilbur's !
