Took a month to come out and replace our leaking hot water heater through American Home Shield. I was told I would get $105 discount but the regular price was added into the invoice. Contacted them to get a refund but they didn't reply. Worst service I have ever had!!!
DANGER BUYER BEWARE!!!
Came out and did a lousy job of replacing our hose bib, leading to breaking our kitchen sink water line connection and connection to our upstairs bathroom. In the process of this repair his connection broke and flooded our wall and crawl space. He eventually was able to complete the work, only to discover later there was a small leak. He never replied to multiple phone calls or texts. Just left us hanging. In hindsight that was a good thing, because he's not trustworthy.
We ended up hiring a new competent plumber who undid all his work.
Now I'm still dealing with needing to close a big hole in my drywall.
NOT A LICENSED PLUMBER! After 5 weeks of increasingly concerning interactions regarding my tankless water heater, it became clear Jeff Jacobs did not know what he was doing. Although he assured me he was a licensed plumber, I became suspicious and contacted Washington State L&I. Two people in the L&I Fraud department confirmed that Jeff Jacobs is NOT A LICENSED PLUMBER AND HAS NEVER BEEN A LICENSED PLUMBER. Jacobs Family Plumbing is licensed as a ""contractor with plumbing capabilities,"" with Jeff listed as the owner / manager, not as a plumber. Jeff Jacobs was at one point certified as a ""plumbing trainee"" or an ""apprentice"" but that license expired in 2018. Jeff is essentially a plumbing handyman who can work on minor plumbing issues that do not require special skill or certification. Jeff has already been cited and paid fines for fraud a couple of times for presenting himself as a real plumber, doing work he was not qualified to do, messing it up, and causing damage to the home. Before hiring him, contact the fraud department at L&I to determine which jobs he is and is not qualified to do.
Tl;dr - After 2.5 weeks and multiple follow ups the original problem is still not fixed and the neither the insurance company nor I know what the next steps are.
I was assigned Jacobs by my home insurance company for a hot water issue in the shower. The representative gave me a call after 1 or 2 days about not finding parts and then went radio silent. I followed up after 2 days and he had forgotten about the work request by then. He finally arrived with the part and realized he needed another part in addition to the part he already had. He arrived at that conclusion after watching youtube videos for a while at my place. Following that he said he would have to talk to his boss and the insurance company because the missing part was expensive. I had to follow up multiple times again to get a response and he finally said he will ask the insurance company to transfer the job since he was taking a loss if he came back to fix it. I called the insurance company 2 days later and they said they hadn't heard anything from Jacobs. All in all a terrible experience and I hope AHS chooses better vendors going forward. So it's 2.5 weeks and my shower is no closer to getting fixed.
Paid a deposit to Jeff. He never called, never showed up and never returned my call. But he did cash my check. I've reported this company to the Better Business Bureau.
Jeff came out on a Thursday morning. We needed a water line to the refrigerator ice maker. We agreed on a price, gave him 1/2 down. Said he'd be out on Monday. Monday came and went. No Jeff. No call. Tried to call him. Mailbox full. It's now Thursday PM. Same bullsh*t. Can't believe a business operates like this. Do not get hooked up with this outfit, under any circumstance. This was an Angie's List Recommendation.
Quick read: Avoid this plumber at all costs. He is unprofessional. If you want to make your difficult life more difficult during the pandemic, give him a shot.
American Home Shield (AHS) assigned this plumber to me. I googled him, and I read all the negative reviews on Yelp and Google. I thought I would be lucky. Totally wrong. He was not reachable for several days. When I finally had a chance to talk to him on the phone, he said he was fixing very important things (probably that means he was working for non-AHS customers). He said he could come, but not when. I called him again the following day, and he didn't pick up the phone at all. I did it multiple times for several more days. No answer. Even AHS couldn't contact him. He wasted my time.
For those of you who use AHS for the first time, if AHS assigns this plumber to you, doing the following might be helpful:
a) Call AHS immediately and ask if they can assign a different plumber. They probably will not.
b) Then, what can you do? Contact him as soon as he is assigned. He probably won't answer the phone. Call AHS and tell them that he isn't reachable. They'll probably say that you have to wait for 1 business day. Call him again the following day. He probably won't answer the phone. Contact AHS, asking for a different plumber. They'll probably say that they'll try to contact him at least a couple of times (meaning for a couple of days). They'll probably say that they'll contact you the following day. They will not. Contact AHS the following day--don't wait for their call--and ask for a different plumber. They'll probably assign a different plumber: All* (* here indicates 'y') Plumbing. There is another plumber, but I forgot the name. Google All* (*=y) plumbing. If you're fine with their reviews, make an appointment.
c) If not, there is a cash in lieu option. AHS might not reimburse your expenses (probably partial reimbursement). But google it, call AHS, and give it a shot.
Good luck everyone!
I had a great experience with Jeff. Fast service, good price and very informative of my problem. I will definitely called on them again.

This company provides HORRIBLE, even non-existent 'customer service.' I started the process of trying to get a new water heater on Dec 17, 2020, and still don't have a fully functioning water heater for my house. Not only did they install one that is not powerful enough for the system, when they finally schedule an appointment to come replace the water heater, they keep no-showing. All I have gotten is excuses left and right, but no communication. Like many others, I have a ticket with AHS home warranty company, so maybe Jacobs Plumbing doesn't care to take care of their home warranty customers.
AHS assigned this company a plumbing contract, we had an appointment, I called a couple of times after they missed their service window. They told me they were running late and would call me back. They never called back or showed up.
