I would give them 0 stars if I could, completely unprofessional, did not follow up, extremely rude. I ended up paying for the water heater myself. They were assigned to me by AHS and because of my experience with them, I ended up canceling my contract with AHS. Would never hire them or recommend them for anything.
They were so incredibly helpful, friendly and Griffin went above and beyond to fix the issues in my home. Recommend them for services
Beware. First, I suggest that you read the review posted by ""Chris V."" from Seattle on 12 FEB 2020. Second, it does not make me happy to report that my experience with Jacobs Family Plumbing was a nightmarish mirror image of Chris'. I was referred to Jacobs by American Home Shield (AHS) for my very expensive water heater (that also provides heating for the air coils of my furnace). It is a relatively sophisticated system that was obviously above Jeff's level of expertise. Rather than admitting this and informing AHS as he should have, I received the ""run around"" regarding his need to ""order parts"" and ""speak with tech support."" I believe none of this happened, and I believe I was told some tall tales. My emails, phone calls and text messages were generally ignored. Days without hot water turned into weeks of run around from both Jeff and AHS (another issue involving hours of waiting on hold to then speak with incompetent and untruthful ""staff""). I finally called a qualified plumber myself who knew precisely what electronic parts were needed, and had me up and running in a couple of days (that plumbing company was amazing...straight talk, obvious expertise, appointments kept, estimate provided, work completed). I am so sorry, but you need to be very careful with this gentleman. I have thought about writing this for some time, but after much reflection have come to the conclusion that others need this information to make their own decision. I would never contact them for assistance again.
Adam F.Amazing crew came out when my hot water tank crapped out!! Went the extra mile for us with a great price. I would recommend them a 100x over and again. Thanks guys
I spoke with Jeff regarding a leak we had in our crawl space, we set up an appointment and he said there would be an additional access fee, I agreed, the leak needed to be fixed. I spoke with him on the phone a couple more times as I had questions. On the morning of the appointment he said his guy was ""sick"", we scheduled for a week and a half later all while we still had a leak. The morning of the second appointment Jeff called and said ""I didn't realize where you live, our guy that works out there quit a while ago."" This is after we had spoken on the phone no less than 4 times! I waited 3 weeks and no repair work was ever done. Jeff, just say you don't want the work! I could have hired someone else and the leak would have already been repaired.
Please DO NOT rely on this company showing up even if you have an appointment scheduled. Very unprofessional.
service was excellent. very happy with the drain cleaning that was done, kitchen sink works great now
Jacobs Family Plumbing is by far the best plumbing service around. I had significant issues at my home and Jeff was at my house everyday until the problem was resolved. Twice he stayed until almost 10:00 pm. This level of service is hard to find. His commitment to excellence, work ethic and customer service and satisfaction, as well as his professional demeanor raises the bar !!
Since I still have a broken water heater, I wish I could give him a zero. Assigned him through American Home Shield. I contacted him to get the scheduled time for the service and was told I was first the next day and he'd come between 8 and 9:30. At 10:30 I called and was told he was just leaving, but he gave no estimate. Sometime later I found business cards stuck in my door, WHEN I was home inside my house (maybe in the bathroom?). I had my phone with me but he never called- just left. I called him and was told he couldn't call me because he had no service at my house but when I asked why he just didn't go to where he could get service and call he had no answer. He admitted he had service a couple of miles away from my house, but didn't bother to contact me then. Then he promised to come back that night. At 8:30 I texted him and he promised to come the next afternoon. At 2 that day I contacted him and was told he was taking the rest of the day off, but could fit me in in 2 more days. I'm not sure when he decided he wasn't going to bother to keep his commitment to come today. He NEVER once contacted me to let me know he wasn't keeping his promise(s). I stayed in my house for 2 whole days without getting the work done and having no water. He may do good work, but he is totally unprofessional and a complete jerk.
Kacei L.What a friendly family business. Jeff put all my worries at ease. I'll definitely hire them again for upcoming projects that I have planned. Also, definitely going to recommend him to my friends and family.
Thank you again!
Chris V.I was referred to Jacob's Family Plumbing through American Home Shield when I had an issue with the fill valve in my toilet. Normally fill valves are a $15 part from the Home Depot and a 15 minute fix. However, Toto toilets may look nice but have a horrible design making you lift the toilet just to change out the fill valve. As such, calling AHS and spending the $100 deductible would be much cheaper than calling a plumber outright.
I put in a work order with AHS on January 14, 2020 and was contacted by Pam on January 15, 2020 for an appointment window between 8am-5pm on Friday, January 17, 2020. Jeff is a nice guy and showed up around 12pm on January 17. Took a look at the toilet and said he needed to ""special order specific parts"" to fix it. I don't hear anything back from Jeff or his company via call, text or email so I follow up on January 21, 2020. Since all the ""special specific parts"" needed to repair the toilet were ordered Jeff scheduled the fix between 1pm-5pm for Saturday January 25, 2020. Here's when all the problems started:
1. Saturday January 25, 2020 I texted Jeff around 1:30pm asking to be texted when he's near my place, he doesn't reply. At 2:45pm I get a call from Jeff to reschedule for Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 9am.
2. Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 9:30am Jeff hasn't shown up, so texted and called- no answer. At 9:45am, Jeff calls and says he's waiting for his brother and will be at my house no later than another hour. I try calling Jeff at 10:30am, 11:15am, 12pm, no answers or responses to calls/text messages. At this point I'm not even sure he's going to show up so I send an email asking to reschedule-no response. Jeff shows up to my house at 3:00pm when no one is home so we end up rescheduling for later that evening. I texted Jeff requesting that he doesn't knock or ring my doorbell as it irritates my dogs. Jeff shows up at 7:45pm knocking and ringing the doorbell setting off the dogs. When he gets to the toilet he changes out the fill valve with a generic fluid master fill valve (one readily available at the Home Depot for $15- I live 5 minutes from a Home Depot so I was surprised when this was the replacement instead of a ""special order""). At 8:15am, Jeff declares that he needs to go get another part of the toilet to finish the repair and he'll be back tomorrow, Monday, January 27, 2020 between 9am-11am to fix it.
3. Monday, January 27, 2020 I text Jeff at 8:45am to confirm the appointment and Jeff responds that he had to overnight a part and would be unable to fix the toilet until Tuesday, January 28, 2020. As I was leaving town, I had no choice but to change the appointment until 9am on February 4, 2020.
4. Monday, February 3, 2020 I text Jeff at 7:30am to confirm our appointment for 9am on February 4, 2020- no response.
5. Tuesday, February 4, 2020 I text Jeff as I haven't heard from him at 7:37am, he responds telling me that he's been in the hospital since Sunday and won't be able to come by today- great news though! He has my part and it shouldn't take long to fix! I'm sorry he was in the hospital, but a proactive notification and not basing my morning around this appointment which was confirmed over a week ago for a simple work order placed over two weeks ago would've been nice to have.
6. Wednesday Feb 5, 2020 4:54pm, I text Jeff to get an update, no answer
7. Thursday, Feb 6, 2020 9:51am, I text Jeff a follow up email, and we schedule for Sunday, Feb 9, 2020 between 9am-11am.
8. Sunday, Feb 9, 2020 8:42am, I text Jeff to confirm our appointment he responds that he'll be here closer to 11am. 11:15am, I text Jeff for an eta, he says he's running late and is going to leave Everett around 15-20 minutes. Mind you my house to Everett takes another hour. He shows up at 1:30pm and ""fixes"" the toilet and leaves by 2pm.
After he ""fixed"" the toilet, the water tank continues to leak into the bowel, causing the fill valve to constantly refill every 5-10 minutes. Hoping to prove myself wrong, I let the tank fill up and shut off the water valve, the next day the tank was empty.
I was so fed up at this point I just called the insurance to request a new plumber to come out to resolve the issue. I had a horrible experience and would never recommend anyone to use this company. A simple toilet fix should not have taken this long and been dragged out for as long as it has.
Jacob's Family Plumbing:
1) gives American Home Shield a terrible name
2) gives small family own businesses a bad rap
3) is unreliable
4) a joke
