J. R. Lane Plumbing Company
Company Overview
Lane's qualified plumbing professionals focus on installing hot water systems, garbage disposals, and fixing tubing, connectors, and devices that convey water and propane in compliance with industry standards and requirements. We work with plumbing networks, installing basins, bathtubs, and other culinary and restroom appliances. In addition, the team at Lane Plumbing provides plumbing estimates, performs routine maintenance, and works with waste disposal systems. For new construction projects, we follow the design plans and act as a secondary contractor alongside your general contractor. Our services include water heater installation, drain cleaning, leak fixes, and commercial new construction.
The origins of Lane Plumbing trace back by my dad, W.R. Lane (Bob). With a degree from NC State, after gaining experience in building projects across his time in the Korean War. His deep understanding of the building sector led him to become a general contractor. Subsequently, he expanded into plumbing contracting. In the 70s and early 80s, he also explored residential remodeling and leasing, experiencing great success. He built housing complexes for HUD across the state. During this time, his sons took part in working with their father. Jim developed an interest in overseeing construction sites and participated in setting up utilities for numerous building endeavors, which sparked Jim's passion for plumbing. In the following ten years, the Lanes were involved in numerous projects, from C terminal dining establishments to installing gas lines for Hewlett Packard's state-of-the-art laboratory systems. Jim became licensed in 1986.
Lane Plumbing has served the community as a trusted plumbing provider. We take issue with the way YELP obscures our countless positive reviews. It is unfair. We have a long list of repeat customers that we are committed to. Reach out Mr. Lane to troubleshoot your plumbing issue with a qualified professional over the phone. We focus on hot water systems, water leaks, faucet repairs, and drain cleaning. Every job matters for Lane Plumbing.

Jaime S.So, I don't normally give 5 stars, but Lane Plumbing proves exceptional again. This is my second time needing their services and as with the first time, they were available to send a crew out the same day, provide an estimate over the phone and complete the job in a timely manner. I love that Mr. Lane himself answers the phone when you call and can tell you exactly what is needed and provide an estimate in a friendly, neighborly way. The crew called you within 30 minutes of their arrival to let you know they're on the way. When Daniel H. and Isaiah showed up, they made sure I knew they were from Lane, they confirmed exactly what I was told over the phone, did a walkthrough to make sure they had all they needed for the job, and within an hour, they were finished. Upon completion, we completed another walk through to make sure the jobs were finished to satisfactory. Thanks again Mr. Lane!!
Lane Plumbing came out to my home to fix a Pressure Reducing Valve. Daniel the technician was great from the start and noticed an additional problem that we had at our cut off. He pointed this out to me before doing any work, explained in clear detail and showed me the evidence to support his findings. They were competitively priced and efficient with their work. I definitely recommend that you call Lane Plumbing and if he's available request Daniel to be your tech. Great experience working with them.
Lakeshia H.Was having trouble with my toilet not flushing properly and called Lane Plumbing. Spoke with Jimmy on the phone and he immediately scheduled an appointment and gave a price quote based on me explaining that I have a leak and also the toilet continuously flushes. The price was at least $250. On the day of my appointment, the problem was fixed by Jerry (after having to leave my home twice to go and purchase different supplies). Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the price. My total was $300...$150 for labor, $125 for parts plus tax). It turns out, there was no leak and the only things that were changed was a fill valve, fill valve flapper and new handle. After research, I realized that I could have purchased those items from Walmart or Lowe's myself for much less than $40!!!!!! But I was charged $125!!!!! I understand that they can charge what they want but this is pretty ridiculous! We were hustled, plain and simple....fool me once shame you, fool me twice shame on me!! My advice to everyone would be to check around and get quotes or find a trusted local handyman.
Jim C.I would do zero stars if I could figure out how to do it. I tried to stop my check on these clowns but they beat me to the bank. I had a leak coming from under the toilet. After they came the leak wouldn't go away. The next day I am sustaining heavy water damage in the bathroom and the hallway. They come by again and can't find the leak. The under of my floor is flooding so I hire a service that specializes in leak detection. They find the leak in 5 minutes. IT'S THE WATER HEATER. WHAT KIND OF CLOWN PLUMBERS DON'T CHECK THE WATER HEATER WHEN THERE IS A LEAK?!
Bottom line is Lane Plumbing can come and replace my floor to avoid a lawsuit. If you value your house, stay away from this company - they're clowns.
Jade C.Owner Jimmy was great to work with- very personable and easy to reach. Jerry and Jared were efficient and kind. Triple checked everything before they left. Overall very satisfied!
Tina W.Woke up Monday morning and found water all over kitchen counter top and a puddle of water on the floor. I have a second floor so I assumed my upstairs bathroom was leaking. Called lane plumbing supervisor said eta was a hour to hour and half. Hour and 46 minutes go by I call back supervisor says another hour his guys are still at another job. So after waiting four hours two plumbers finally showed up. I showed them where the water was and the wet towels from cleaning up the water. So the plumbers go upstairs run water in both bathrooms and come back downstairs and look in ceiling and dont see anything. They Go outside and check water meter--'' oh, your water meter not running--- so you don't have a leak."" This is after only after 15 minutes of inspecting. So i ask the guys to explain where the water came from and was told they don't know but I don't have a leak--I wish they could of seen the water. So they go outside said they have to call the supervisor. I'm thinking they are calling to troubleshoot the problem. Little do I know they called to find out how much to charge me. One guy comes back in and tells me ma'am we didn't see anything it's going to be $125. So at this point im irritated. So i express my concerns and asked the guy to explain why the sink cabinet is wet. I was told he feels it's wet but don't know where the water came from maybe from underneath. Then he comments maybe it's coming from your fridge. How the hell is it coming from the fridge when water was all over the counter top and the fridge is on the opposite side of the kitchen. So i express my concerns again and ask why am I paying for a problem that isn't solved. So the guy calls the supervisor. The supervisor states it's a diagnostic fee because we came to figure out the problem. So i state to the supervisor your plumber just admitted to seeing the cabinet under the sink is wet but claim I don't have a leak. This makes no since obviously something is leaking. Long story short after going back and forth the supervisor states well I can give you $20 off but I have to get my guys out of there. This seriously struck a nerve. I just waited for hours for the plumbers to arrive and had to call out of work because the eta was way off. After waiting they only spent 15 mins looking just to tell me you have no leak they don't know where the water came from. So the fee was paid and my problem wasn't solved. Oh I was told if I call and say were the leak is coming from they will come out and fix it. Lol what was the point of me calling?
Blee L.Absolutely amazing! I am EXTREMELY happy with the excellent service and work performed by Lane Plumbing today! Mr. Lane provided excellent and immediate attention to my call & Jerry and Jared excelled in exceeding my expectations. Not only is this company great, but they are also reasonably priced and fair. Thank you to the Lane Plumbing team, as you were prompt, extremely knowledgeable and experienced & provided great customer service. I will definitely call you again for all of my plumbing needs.
They arrived in a timely fashion to replace the pump and the job was completed within the estimate given. Get at least 3 bids before using lane.
Thanks to Lane for the extensive explanation.
It is interesting that multiple trips are required to fix septic tank controls and pump.
Tres P.Half to say, I have used Lane Plumming twice now, ...the 1st time a year ago, to replace my hot water heater, I wasn't sure I could make the payment but they work with me and I truly appreciate that, and now this last time I obviously had a pressure release valve problem so I was getting no water pressure in the house I talked to mr. Lane we discuss what it could be and they set a date and they came out and they fixed it, I'm sure I will be using them again in the future, it's good to know that I founded great plumbing company
You really caught me with that new faucet.
That was a very expensive project to add a faucet.
