My water bill jumped $400 from the previous bill. It was the middle of the drought. I had a leak on the water line from the street to my house. I called three plumbers. McCabe was at my home in just 30 minutes. One plumber said he could be out in 2 days, the other didn't call back for 2 days.
McCabe figured out the problem (an old galvanized pipe that used to feed an old sprinkler system, buried underground) and had a small crew hand trenching to find where that pipe connected to my main. My leak was fixed within a few hours. I hired McCabe to replace my main line with PVC and straighten out all the shut-offs (some had been buried underground!)
Anyway, my new plumbing is done to perfection, like it would have been done if I owned the company. The prices were fair and the crew was fantastic to work with.
I highly recommend McCabe Plumbing, and will call them if I ever need a plumber again.

his motto is ""now you know a good plumber"", but be aware of his fine print ""now you know an expensive $145/hour plumber""

I read the reviews right after I had just hired Jamie and team to come replace my water line to the street. I was nervous after what I read.
The reason I connected with Jamie in the first place is because he was referred by a neighbor who owns a institutional plumbing business and said Jamie would be his first choice. I had already had one price quote from someone referred by our neighborhood e-list. That guy showed up, looked at our yard, looked in my garage and said $xxx without getting out a measuring tape, or anything. I had one other guy give me a number over the phone that was ridiculously cheap...and wasn't a licensed plumber.
Jamie called back shortly after I left a message, at 4pm. He looked at my house on Google earth, calculated how much pipe I would need, and quoted me a price that was a bit higher than the guy leaning against his car pulling a number out of thin air. Jamie said he could get started at 8:00 am the next morning and get it all done same day. I said yes!
Here's the thing: Two of Jamie's guys showed up at my house at 7:45 and began digging up my old pipe. By 8:15, Jamie was there with one of his top guys, measuring everything and ensuring they had everything they needed. By 9AM a fifth guy showed up and they did an amazing job. Getting everything done by 1pm.
Did I tell you our water main from the street spring a leak and we didn't have water? Jamie and his professional, Union crew had it replaced with quality work within about 12 hours of my front yard erupting with a water fountain.
OK, I didn't have a leaky toilet that I was overcharged for. I had major digging and big pipes to deal with. I had to have new water lines run into my house. These guys were neat and clean, super good with my kids and I felt like I got a bargain because I felt like the other guy who pulled a price out of thin air probably would not have showed up when he said and wouldn't have brought his four Union employees (that's a good thing...they're properly trained) to get the job done.
I had never met nor heard of J. McCabe Plumbing prior to this experience. I'm about to call him again to have a whole house water filter installed. I'm looking forward to it because I'm confident they will do good work.

I was very impressed and pleased with the service from these folks. Had a problem with my shower leaking, called Jamie, and they were out the next morning as scheduled. The gentleman who came out was outstanding and kept me informed every step of the way. He was neat, clean and easy to work with. Sadly the problem appears to be a tile/grout/shower pan issue.
In discussing my problem with a General Contractor and others in the building trades, their first reccomendations for a plumber is McCabe Plumbing. Mine is too!

How this company stays in business more than 3 months is incredible. Not only poor work and outrageous pricing. Do yoruself a favor and just don't call Jaime. He is not trustworthy

I have used these guys over the last few years for several problems including a completely clogged pipe to the tub and also installing a really cool tankless hater heater. What impressed me the most was Jamie's honesty. Since I am an RN and not a plumber, my knowledge is severely limited. He always gave me great advice (never taking advantage of my ignorance) and did a great job. The water heater was not cheap but the quote was very fair and they did a fantastic job. I recommend him to everyone I know.

I have never had such a poor experience. First of all no one showed up at the scheduled appointment time for the estimate. I waited for several hours with no word. Finally I got a phone call at close of business. We rescheduled and Mr McCabe came out. He was not very organized and I had to offer some suggestions for plumbing the lines to hook up our new gas dryer. When we did get the quote it was $1000 more than two other competitors and did not include parts or permit. Now we know a bad plumber!

I was charged $288 to install a new fluidmaster into a toilet. Way to expensive! Last time I had this repair performed I was only charged $60. Also, I had to adjust it afterwards so the job wasn't even high quality.

Do not walk away from Jaime- RUN RUN RUN
His dishonesty is only surpassed by his deception and prices. We were shcoked with what he charged and his inability to tell us how long the job REALLY took.
Threats, shoddy work, and lies isre about the only thing you can count on with this guy.

I needed an immediate repair to the main water line going to my house. This was after the city water meter. The city came out and turned off the water because the pipe after the meter was broken. I called J McCabe and spoke to Jamie. He was at my house within 15 minutes, and finished the job within 2 hours. His rate may be a little higher than others, but his response time, and completion time was well worth the extra cost. Yes, there might be others out there that could do it for less, but then I would have to go without water for 1 more day waiting for them.
Jamie responded fast, fixed the unit, and we had water back on withing 2 hours from the initial phone call.
