A handyman stripped our main water valve outside the house and wasn't able to fix it leaving us without water. It was the end of the day and all of the local places I called were fixated on charging after hour rates. J McCabe Plumbing came over within 10 minutes to help and didn't even charge us. Follow up work was completed as scheduled without issue and everything was good. Recommend.

Was getting ready to go out of town and sure enough kitchen sink springs a leak. I am on the phone with a friend who has moved out of the area but recommends McCabe Plumbing and quickly texts me their number. I call, leave a message and get a call back in less than 20 mins. Owner quickly asks me a few questions, understand my time concerns and asks if I would be home within the next 30 mins. I say yes, his guy Don is here within 30 mins. We go over what's going on, he quickly explains what I can and cannot do moving forward with my current piping setup. He fixed my leak, installed some new piping and showed me some issues with current piping structure but stuff I could live with till it was time to remodel. I am happy and relieved that my plumbing will be safe and sound while I am out of town

We had our toilet back up into the bathtub, what a mess. I called a few places and one would not do it for under $500, another did not show up. We called J McCabe Plumbing and they were out as quick as possible, and fixed the problem for a lot less then $500. They were courteous and quickly did the job. We would recommend this plumbing company to anyone. Thank you J McCabe Plumbing.

It was years ago I used this plumber but the memory still stings. When asked about charges I was told $200 yet when the bill came it was over $800. I was stunned. Like one reviewer said, RUN, Run in the opposite direction as fast as possible. He is a crook. Also, unable to find any evidence he is licensed. An expensive learning lesson for me. And as you can see this is my only review. Ever!~

Jamie and his team have helped us solve a number of nagging plumbing issues in our new home. The work has been top-notch, and the pricing fair. I could not be happier with the quality of their work.

I've worked with perhaps a dozen plumbers as a homeowner. All of them were professional and did a decent job, aside from a few minor issues. I write this 5 star review because Jamie and team were exemplary. We had a pipe from the curb burst and were without water. Jamie and his assistant showed up in a matter of hours and gave us an estimate. Several other plumbers either blew us off or told us we would have to hire someone first to locate the broken pipe so they could do an in the ground repair, which would be costly as the iron pipe ran under our driveway. Jamie gave us a recommendation and estimate after measuring the extent of a replacement pipe, which was a much lower cost option. His team all had positive attitudes and worked hard. They showed up first thing the next AM with everything they needed to fix the job in a few hours. Our water was back on much sooner and the bill was much less than anticipated. Jamie was recommended to us by a neighbor who had hired Jamie based on another referral. FIVE STARS!!!!

This is a long overdue review. Some months ago, my tenants complained of a leaking shower spout and a slow draining tub. I called one plumber, who went to take a look, and gave a quote of over $1200 - claiming he'd need to cut out part of the wall to fix the leaking spout.
When I called Jamie, a referral from Nextdoor, he asked me several questions - including the type and brand of the handle. I had my tenants take a photo of it and got the photo to Jamie. He immediately knew what needed to be done, explained that it would require a small part, and gave me a quote of under $300. Jamie was right on time for my tenants, did the work on a Sunday (since that was the only time they were available), and charged exactly what he quoted.
Although I didn't get the opportunity to meet Jamie personally, I'm very satisfied with the work he did and will be calling him again for my next plumbing need.

Tl;dr: 4 stars for work, 1 star for pricing and lack of transparency. Previous price complaints spot on.
It pains me to write this as I'd love to leave a glowing 5 star review but I just can't help shaking the feeling of getting fleeced. Not in a big way but definitely wasn't a transparent experience.
My water heater went out. Pilot light would start but wouldn't stay on. Called a few popular plumbers and most said that it would likely be a thermo coupler and if it was indeed just that, it would be $140 all in. Thought that was kinda steep for a $5 part so I called around and found Mccabe who came recommended on nextdoor.com.
He answered right away and stated that best case scenario, it could be the thermo coupler and told me its $90 for a ""service call"" which I took as an hour of labor less parts which sounded reasonable.
Long story short, he came quickly, had to leave bc he didn't have the part and then came back and swapped it out in less than 10 min. Literally 6 screws, disconnected the coupler and popped he new one in. Water heater fired right up!
Great right?! Well, he then charged me $215. What?! How did we come to that? Didn't matter what he said, it was a total bait and switch for literally 10-15 min worth of work and a $5 part. My water heater install 3 years ago on a Sunday (i.e.time and a half) came out to $285 for labor so I have a really hard time understanding how a plumber who wants repeat business can come up with these numbers for such a small repair.
Jamie is a nice guy and I'm sure does good work but I won't be calling him back and will notify my neighbors as well

I've used J McCabe three times now for a sewer line back up issue and they never disappoint. As the other yelp reviewers have noted, J McCabe fees are pretty steep... However, my experience is that they always get the job done quickly and most of all they get it done right.

This company has never done work for me but the driver of this work truck did get into a show of road rage yesterday on 85S with me while I had my child in the car. Very unprofessional, dangerous driving along with inappropriate hand gestures. I would be afraid to let them in my house with that kind of behavior.
