i hired them to replace 2 ball valves, water heater expansion tank, hot water circulator and check my faucets and shower mixer valves for debris.
i have him check the home water pressure and he said it was 90 psi coming into the house so he set the expansion tank at 90 psi. i told him that the plumbing code was a max of 80 psi and told him to reset it to 80 psi, which he did. but he should have known the Law and not set it higher than 80 psi. if its set higher you can start blowing water connections around the house.

any way the bigger issue was the invoice. i paid $1300 at the time the plumber was here and i told him i wanted an itemized invoice showing the parts cost, labor and sales tax and he said it would be sent from the office. after 6 days no invoice. i called the plumber who came to the house and he said he gave it to the office person but would have them email me this time. 4 days later no invoice. i finally called and talked to Taylor E who sent emailed me the invoice. after reading the invoice i found that their was only one line item on the invoice that stated it included the parts, labor and the sales tax portion of the invoice said ""tax exempt"", and the price of $1,300.

i called Taylor E and asked for a itemized invoice showing separate parts, labor and sales tax and she hung up on me. wow, what a nasty person. i then sent her and the owner (Ira Hansen, State senator) an email stating that i needed a itemized invoice or i would file a complaint with the State Contractors Board and the Nevada Dept of Taxation. After talking to the State contractors board investigator i learned that this is common practice to defraud the public and the state sales tax and that i should file the complaint with his agency and the state sales tax board for not paying sales tax. and further that i should have gotten an estimate showing each item before you hire them.
So i wanted to know how much he charged me for hourly so i used the list price of the parts $476 subtracted from $1300 bill leaves $824. i divided that by the time he spent which was 4.5 hours which showed the hourly was $183
far more than advertised. these people are crooked, tell lies, do not provide the required itemized invoice per Nevada State Contracting Laws and are ripping off the state for sales tax.
as a result i have filed my complaints with the State Contractors Board and Dept of Taxation and the Reno BBB. i dont expect any results from the state since i have proved them to be all on the take from the home builders and contractors when i filed a Construction Defect on my new home. you can read this here on yelp under toll brothers.
now the kicker!!!!!!!!!! i spoke to Mr. Hansen via email regarding his help with my construction defect claim and corruption. i asked him that it seemed the cities, counties and state depts are corrupt based on my interactions with these depts. He stated i was correct, the entire state of Nevada government is corrupt and there is nothing that can be done to fix it. Not even an act of God could fix it. so there you go, the state of Nevada Government is ""in your face"" corrupt as well as the businesses in Nevada acting without any enforcement and just dismiss your claim.

Hansen plumbing, surprisingly, does not charge trip charge. Greg Baustain replaced my Noritz tankless water heater with a Navien NPE-240SA tankless. He did an outstanding job. He kept me informed of his progress throughout the job. Greg did a great job on the copper piping. Prior to accepting Hanson's quote I tried to get a quote from Jet Plumbing but they wanted to charge me $125 to come out and give me a quote. Hansen Plumbing doesn't seem to charge for any visits beyond the cost of repair or replacement.

I am happy with the job Greg did and would recommend Ira Hansen Plumbing.

I have been trying to forget my experience with this company but that is not fair to prospective customers. important for you to know that they do NOT Itemize so you can not be sure what you are being charged for per visit (we had several jobs in a row). Finally, after many concerns about my charges I said I could not pay until they itemized my bill. They finally & reluctantly did. I was shocked that this business practice Is legal. Regarding the job: I won't say the name of plumber, sorry. But he was careless, left large opening in wall around newly installed vent pipe to dryer, no tape, no nothing, created big leak inside another wall (I had to remove some insulation and let it dry out for several days before replacing drywall...he said ""no need to let it dry out, ok to close up!), did not secure pipes inside wall-I went to store and bought the pipe holders, and more. Just not up to par. But great show of friendliness which made me like him and not want to stir up trouble.
I WILL NEVER use this company again.

Epic props to Vetter at Ira Hansen. I had a really big, tough clog in my sewer line, out close to the street. He worked for hours with multiple machines to finally get it clear. This dude stayed friendly and awesome the whole time. What a pro! Highly recommend!

Very happy with my recent experience with Ira Hansen & Sons Plumbing and especially with Baustain recently when I needed some toilets installed quickly. The person who answered the phone heard about my need and connected me to Baustain right away. He was very responsive and was able to install the two toilets that day. Once here, he did an excellent job on the installation, which was not easy given that he had to carry toilets up and down stairs during the removal of the old toilets and installation of the new toilets. The rates were reasonable and the service and expertise were very, very good. I would recommend Baustain and IHS Plumbing in future without hesitation for plumbing needs and plan to use them in future for all my plumbing needs. I really appreciate their responsiveness and quality of work.

Sean and Roy showed up at our home for an estimate for a sump pump. They were prompt and very friendly. Examined our crawl space and determined that the location of our house and lack of evidence for water damage would not indicate a need for a sump pump. We really appreciated their honesty. We learned a lot about crawl spaces and where mold might start to grow.
We could see that they did not try to sell us something that we didn't need.

While the work was done for a faucet install and a broken sprinkler head, the running toilet still runs and there was not a up front price quote when the jobs were done. We were surprised by the bill and I questioned it. Can not get a response for months. I want to pay what I owe, but it needs to be itemized as I don't agree with the cost without explanation. NO RESPONSE TO MANY EMAILS to TAYLOR or even via Yelp messaging.

Capped water line for refrigerator because we moved the fridge across room. Greg Baustain got here earlier and had the job done in no time. He is quick, efficient and knowledgeable and a person of his word. He told me the other day he would have a quote to me that day and sure enough he did. Great company and he is an asset to it.
