We called Hydro-Rooters to help address an exterior drain that overflowed in recent rains. Co-owner Diego came the next day, and provided excellent service.

He located immediately located a chunk of concrete in our drain line; it would have been easy for him to try forcing that chunk out our sewer line, at the risk of damaging or clogging the sewer line. Instead, he stopped, explained the situation clearly, and asked for my input. Before long, Diego devised a clever way to remove the concrete, and thoroughly cleaned and inspected our drain and sewer lines.

He was courteous and professional throughout, happy to share his expertise and answer questions. While we hope not need his services again, we are very happy to recommend him.

I can't say enough good about this company. I called them on an awful rainy night because my parents basement had water coming in because the drain outside the door was blocked. We were bailing water as fast as we could. We had no prior relationship with this company and they were closed. But the owner came out (from an hour away) and fixed the problem. He also fixed another longstanding drainage problem that multiple plumbers said couldn't be fixed. Fees were reasonable. Great guy!

We called Hydro-Rooters in the morning after a basement toilet and sink backed up. Jon came out the same day, snaked the main sewer line and, with the use of a camera, gave me a birds-eye view of the pipe. Unfortunately, the pipe (Orangeburg) from the house to the street needed to be replaced. Not only did they give us multiple options for replacing the pipe (and different price points), they were able to pull permits and complete the work less than 48 hours later! Everyone involved with the job was pleasant and professional, but most of all took the time to explain their work. This was an expensive job. Could I have found someone cheaper? Maybe. But based on a few calls not by much and certainly not as quickly.

It's been over a month since I called these guys about a toilet that was backing up on the lower level of my townhouse. I got quotes from a few competitors, and they were all very close, so I figured to go with the company that indicates drain/sewer line cleaning is a specialty. Definitely the right move, the guy gave me a very good primer on what my particular drainage was all about and why it was backing up. Even showed me, with a video camera on the business end of their very long snake system. Didn't take very long, and there has been no issue since.

Second plumber I got for the issue. Jon came in, very nice, went over the issue with me and got to work. I had damage from mold in the ceiling of my kitchen of my sink because of issues in my bathrooms that I didn't know of at the time. He noticed the toilets may have been causing the problem and corrected the issue. What makes them a five is they responded the same day, John was very nice and explained everything to me, he cleaned up everything, and he went above and beyond by writing a detailed statement for my insurance. I definitely recommend this company.

My main sewer line backed up into my basement. My regular plumber snaked the line, but recommended I hydro-jet it also, which is a service he did not offer and would have to sub out with a markup.

I found these guys on Yelp and got in touch via email. First, they respond as quickly as they promise. They responded to my original email, and follow up emails, almost immediately. And when I called, they answered the phone right away. We booked the service for the following day, and they called when they were on their way and arrived right on time. When dealing with a potentially serious plumbing issue, responsiveness is incredibly important to me.

Second, Diego and John are incredibly friendly and polite. They explained their pricing up front so there were no surprises, and it was far more competitive than what my plumber would have charged to sub out the work. They were incredibly neat, covering the floor with tarps, wiping down all the lines going into and out of the drain, using booties when they entered the house, and they left the work area cleaner than they found it.

Third, they know what they are doing. They are organized and efficient, and did the work in a professional manner.

Fourth, their equipment is top of the line. The ran a camera through my pipe several times - before, during and after the jetting. The camera image was crystal clear, and much better than what my original plumber used. I was able to look over their shoulders at the monitor and they explained everything they saw, what they were doing and what needed to be done.

Fifth, the work was completed in a timely and cost-effective manner to my total satisfaction. They blasted off decades of scale buildup and other residue in the line, taking off rough edges, and smoothing and opening the line so there are no areas that might cause a clog. They left my sewer line in much better shape than when they found it.

I could not recommend Hydo-Rooters more highly.

I've had multiple sewer line clogs throughout the years due to old corroded pipes. I usually have to call someone to snake the line at least twice a year. After doing some research, I found out about hydro-jetting. I contacted Hydro-Rooters and Jon came out within an hour of my call. First off, very professional guy. He arrived neat and respected my home and used boot covers. He explained the hydro-jetting process, its benefits and advantages over snaking, and gave me a written quote before starting. His quote was very reasonable from others I received. He even showed me my line with his sewer camera after he was done at no extra charge! I've had my line scoped out in the past and I was ecstatic to see the condition! It really looked brand new. After he was finished he cleaned up, moved everything back the way it was, and provided me with a written guarantee. I'm so glad I called Hydro-Rooters! I recommend them to anyone looking for a plumber

As a Old Town Alexandria resident with very old pipes, I have a lot of experience with hydrojetting -- and these guys do the job thoroughly at a reasonable price. After repeated sink clogs and average plumbers coming to snake the line, we finally stumbled upon a WINNING plumber. Diego came and assessed the situation and patiently educated me on the drain problems and possible problems our property might be facing. He suggested a procedure that no other plumber had mentioned despite facing the same situation. Diego also HAPPILY fixed some corroding pipes that were leaking for a fair price as well. I'm sitting at home working and start feeling water dripping from the ceiling. I called Jon at Hydro Rooters and he let me know what to to try and stop the leakage before he even made it here. He showed up within 1 hour, put on his shoe covers and got to work. Thank God our issue didn't end up being that costly/serious, but Jons knowledge and honest advice saved us what other plumbing companies would have changed an arm and a leg for. He never tried to talk us into something we didn't really need and told us how to prevent the problem from happening again. Hydro Rooters will always be our go to plumbing company from now on.
